Health Boost does nothing with Fatalis set equipped by the way, the max health possible it 200 so that's 3 points you're wasting

I only have 1 counterpoint: i don't have better decos for the fatalis sets. Needed to use crit boost and other skills and they happen to have health boost attached.

@@greadyknight Just pointing it out for others, plus you mentioned having 300 health at some point during the comparisons between Safi/Fatty sets for elemental matchups

yeah i was wondering why i would ever use safi when fatalis gives me so much more QoL, i shaved 5 mins off alatreon just by switching from safi to fatalis armor

Well, the reason to use Safi would be for the innate damage buff (40% affinity and 150 element) and the innate healing, mixed with the fact that it's a far, far easier set to build - easier to farm the monster, and fewer / smaller deco slots. The post-Fatalis CB meta document posted on the Monster Hunter Meta subreddit claims the Safi set has slightly higher element, while the Fatalis set has slightly higher raw (presumably thanks to the sheer amount of decoration slots available). I personally have no idea about the exact amount of element that's required for the element stat to catch up to raw damage, but I imagine it might be a worthwhile trade for an SAED build, where almost all the damage is from element. Also, I haven't done proper testing on this, but if you're able to consistently stick to the monster and keep hitting it, the consistent incoming healing from the Safi set (especially if combined with health augment) might be just as comfortable as the comfort you can get from extra decoration slots on the Fatalis set. For what it's worth, I agree with you that Fatalis is a better build for the vast majority of players, but there are legit reasons to pick a Safi build over it - mostly the fact that it's far, FAR more accessible, especially for newer players. You need a minimum of three Fatalis Evil Eyes to be able to make the full set (not counting the weapon); that's a pretty tall order for newer players.

7:30 does this assume savage axe playstyle?

Yes, but saed always takes the higher base element/attack for phial damage. Fatalis for impact safi for element
