Here you'll find theme park building with an eye for amusement design, city building with a knack for urbanism and building... building with attention to detail. I've been an active member of simulation gaming communities for many years, I have an MA degree in Urban Studies, and I've travelled around the world to ride the best roller coasters - now I'm just sharing my creations on KZread and hopefully teaching people some things along the way.

I always read comments, but reach out to me on Twitter if you really want to talk about something! You can also reach me at [email protected]!

    Maybe not good practice financially to put piranhas on the ENTRANCE pool of a hotel? How about building one where they exit, as at that point you already have their money? :P Missed oportunities: Should have put enrichment sprinkler on every bathroom sealing as a shower? :P :D Why not to build just parking building? Parking lot would not be ever made to look as good as buildings you guys make.

    A simple solution consisting its many bugs would be to completely redevelop the game so it actually works without all of the bugs.

    Rudi and his gf dirtytalking on bedroom: "Whisper to my ear all the constuctive elements capable of supporting a roof, you little b*tch!" :D Game engine SHOULD allow texture patterns being that repeated as they appear on Planet Zoo, at least if you look higher up, as same engine is used on Elite Dangerous, as far as I know. And on ED theres whole moons and even planets that dont have that patternization visible no matter how high you look at it. And I really like how detailed planet surfaces are when you walk on their surface and look down. Frontier has done really good work on procedural texture generation on at least ED :P I would have made those penthouse hotelrooms only 2 wide to separate them more of those normal ones? But very cool resort! And oh there was that one mandatory spire too? :D

    My guess is that DeLady is doing excavasion below that Mikes Micro building to make sure Mike didn't left those poor tapirs underneath it when he "build it again"? :P Cool looking building, for sure. But I would have made columns longer and left that pale brown piece just about sticking out of a ground, not that much? You can't make veterinarian habitat without "Dus nuve hefo veteranero" sign or they will MaggieB themselves? And yes, they were listening! Now 2024 we have several entrances with guest spawners and also guest atractors! Thanks! Damn that scenery on 28:00 looked like real world video!? Awesome!

    All American Triple Loop just opened at my home park (Indiana Beach), which is the Schwarzkopf Dreier Looping that traveled around the German fair circuit, and was moved around from park to park. It is crazy intense, compact, and kinda violent (in a good way), I’m glad that there’s now something like it in the states, especially at a park like Indiana Beach which already had a Schwarzkopf traveling coaster.

    A note on movement through parks, as you were talking about it. There was a brief moment in time back in the early days of Disneyland where at any one time in frontierland you would be able to see guests riding the mine train through natures wonderland (big thunder wasn't built yet), people in canoes in the river, pony trekking, riding the train and walking around! So much movement and so many different types of vehicles must have made that whole area look so dynamic and interesting.

    One thing comes to my mind about those stutters: You pro-builders build most of your stuff in pause mode, so have you tried to use play mode at couple of seconds so game can calculate terrain and other stuff when in that mode, instead of whaever period it uses for it in pause mode? PS: I would have changed water color?

    Dear friend, I hope you'll see this comment because I really want to ask you how you use materials that I don't have in the RCT3 game. I've been playing this game since childhood, since 2005 when I was 11 years old. But I haven't seen such materials, such realism. Please advise me where to download or what video to watch. I'm so impressed and inspired by your creations. Both in Planet Coaster and in this game. Especially since RCT3 is my childhood, a big part of my life. Please tell me what I need to watch or buy to be able to build the same way. Thank you and sorry for the mistakes in the text. English is not my native language 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

    @@Silvarret Dear friend, Thank you so much for your response! I deeply regret that those materials are no longer available. I'm not sure if I'm suggesting this correctly, but perhaps you could upload those files to the internet yourself so that we could have the opportunity to download them? I mentioned earlier that English is not my native language, so my requests don't always yield the correct result, and it's difficult for me to find something suitable for this game. Also, may I ask you which resources you've used yourself? I would greatly appreciate your response. Thank you❤

Mixing nuanced and advanced takes, that is relevant for both our times and the game, with your relaxing and amazing gameplay would be such a breath of fresh air. I reckon St Lukes is a great vanilla build: it showcases what you can do with just the basic system. As such I'd say keep it that way - do as much as you want with it but strike out with a new build for showcasing any modded stuff. Maybe come back to St Lukes as and when DLCs come out. The port area instantly springs to mind for example. Anyway, it's great to see the place again, since it can't be seen on Google Earth, despite looking like that's what we're seeing.

    As someone that always grew up in mountainous cities (or at least hilly) visiting the Netherlands really got on my nerves after a while, so flat and no shade unless human made (just a few single file trees along roads or buildings), and even that you can see so far got on my nerves, when you see something and think 'oh let's go there', but in reality it is very far, but because nothing is in the way you can just see it. Just my rant about rural Netherlands, but when it comes to traffic infrastructure it felt even hilarious crossing from Belgium into the Netherlands, because the Netherlands is so far above in quality and thoughtfulness in terms of planning.

    Hi Silvarret, message here from a historian specialized in settlement history. Roads and paths did rarely "organically grow" in the UK. They rather were either inherited from an older pre-stage (medieval, roman, celtic, prehistoric) or were planned in the same way as most core settlement plans (layout and building) were planned in the Anglo-Saxon period. I consider it a "New World myth" that European cities have grown organically. Also our forebears in the medieval period and earlier were very careful in planning out any kind of building development before committing to the resource investment that is colonizing a patch of wilderness.

  • @Silvarret
    @SilvarretАй бұрын

    Hey, thanks for the interesting insight! That makes sense. But wouldn't a lot of modern day cities have grown somewhat organically post-industrial revolution? And wouldn't the older pre-stages have formed somewhat organically over centuries?

  • @ButzPunk

    can you recommend any good youtube channels for settlement history?

  • @katan28kerkhof
    @katan28kerkhofАй бұрын

    @@Silvarret From that perspective, yes, with the caveat that each expansion was on its own a premeditated negotiated "development" plan that often required "land sale", "community approval" and some sort of "government permit" in the same way as would happen now. When you "zoom out", the city grew from an earlier core but I have trouble calling this growth "organic" when all these gradual additions were the result of historical planning and building initiatives that were often carried out in phases. I once wrote a pop sci piece on this titled "Why medieval city-builder video games are historically inaccurate".
