Cities: Skylines II - St. Luke (Part 1) - English Rural Village
Ойындар
The kind people over at PDX allowed me to have an early go at the long-awaited Cities: Skylines II, along with many core members of the community - what better to do than to start a timelapse build right away in a theme that the game perhaps wasn't specifically built for?
This is just my attempt at figuring out just how realistically C:S II allows the player to lay out roads, landscape, add nature, and organically grow a city inspired by a specific part of the world. For a vanilla game, I think it's doing pretty well. I already can't wait to see how I can develop the town over the next few weeks - and how the game will develop over the coming years with what seems to be a very strong foundation!

The fact that you can do this from the start in the game is awesome. In CS1 you would have to build up a small support area first and unlock so much stuff before you could build a town like this with the limited money at the start.

One of the most realistic and satisfying city layouts that came out of all this early content today In my opinion. Really nice work

the best one for sure... way too many square cities with hastily zoned stuff... not much thought put into them, but this one you can feel the love and can relate to a "real" area...
Absolutely stunning.

I've been waiting and hoping that Keralis gets to make a sneak-peak video for CSII.
I don't think I have ever seen someone make something English that actually looks so realistic to real life. Those patchwork fields, hamlets and random houses is so accurate
For English towns and cities, I like naming them using a bit of wordplay with English pronunciation rules. Make little names that sound plausible until you try to say them out loud, and you find yourself saying something else entirely. Examples include Strawbury, Hamcester, Moncester, Egsenham, Seaswick, Spelcaster, or Whytewich.

I live in Northern Ireland so most place names look like gibberish compared to England’s place names because they come from anglicised versions of the original Irish names, so in cities skylines I name places in Irish based on the geography and then I anglicise it. It’s so fun. For example, a town that’s beside or inside a valley. I will call it Glenn géar, meaning Steep valley in Irish, then I will anglicise it to “Glengar” to give it its English name.

I really hope we see some sort of UK style content creator pack with lots of buildngs in that would be brilliant!

First CS2 build I've seen with curvy roads. Thank you. I was starting to worry they'd removed that feature, lol
i dont think theres a single other video that has me as hyped for cs2 as this one does this town looks so good
This is such an incredible build! I never thought wed see builds of this quality so early on. Im also kinda interested in taking on your indirect dutch city challenge using only lvl4-5 european theme rowhouses 😅
One thing for me to say, all these videos of people making towns are outdone by yours, I love how you talk in the background while you do the actual city in the background instead of doing first hand commentary! Nice work.
I find it hilarious that there is a brush to place trees but there seems to be no brush to remove them. Really excited for what you will build in this new game
So excited to see what you did :)

Koali City, Yorkshire
I think one of the biggest selling points for the game is the development tree. With more variety and specializations it could really make each city different. Like a tree that taps into the media demand allowing the city to host a movie industry, or a vineyard distributer, not to mention the various upgrades to buildings. It's got a lot more potential than CS1. You can see that from how accurately you caught midlands UK in the beta build, which you couldn't for a few years after base CS1.
@xergiok2322

You could specialize your city with or without a tech tree though. I really don't see why they included it. Seems like a gamey feature without a real world equivalent.
@fabricator77
9 ай бұрын
@@xergiok2322 I agree. One of the other CS2 videos showed the transport tech-tree, you have to unlock trains before you can unlock trams. Not realistic at all, should be able to choose from one (or both), not that much difference between tram and train. Stuff like this made me have to mod CS1, just to make a city that starts with a railway station.
Already 3 months that I'm looking to cities skylines 2 videos and this is still my favorite one so far
I've watched a bunch of Cities: Skylines II videos by creators and this is probably my favorite. Great work nailing the organic development of a village. Keep it up :D

I have seen more than 20 videos of ""first gameplay in CSLII"" in 3 diferent languages and your build is far THE BEST build I have seen in this game, this is perfection, +1 follower, wanna know what is this town's future
Such a nice surprise to have you build for us! Gorgeous. So glad you’re back with cities!
I wish random tree rotation would be the default setting
This was one of my FAVORITE CS2 builds so far!! This was the perfect approach!! And the cinematic camera omg I can’t wait to use it!!!
You just earned a subscriber. I’ll say honestly, out of all of the content that I’ve seen so far, the way you planned out your farms and rural pockets of residential was absolutely superb….best I’ve seen today; and it gave me some ideas for when the game drops. Some of the farms are a little funky looking at this time but I think the way you planned it out helped it blend significantly better than what I’ve seen others do so far. Looking forward to episode 2.

what a pleasant surprise to see you on my sub feed today, silv. love this idea for a project as well
This game has such a cozy and melancholic atmosphere. I want to come back here again and again. ☺️
This is the first video that I watched that actually made me want to play the game tbh. I very much value aesthetics over the gameplay sometimes so I loved what you did with the town! I was worried I liked the cartoonish graphics better of CS1 but this city definitely showed you can still make realistic aesthetically pleasing cities.
Love how nice the game looks out of the box, without mods, LUTS and other user modifications. This is the city builder regular gamers were looking for.
I've never seen your channel before, never watched a single video (at least that I could remember), watched this, and then proceeded to subscribe. Reddit described it best: There are three categories of content creators who have received access to CS:2: Troll / Random Builders, Grid / Block Builders, and Silvarret. Amazing work, can't wait to see what you do further.
Excellent work, and appreciate all the work you do creating these videos
I so love your take on these types of games and im glad you have some videos covering it! Cant wait for it to come out!
Such a beautiful organic shape of the town, just amazing work and thought.
Looking absolutly awesome. Refreshing.
This is the most impressive Cities 2 build I have seen so far!
Out of all the cities builds. Yours is the most realistic and natural! Loved the video. Looking forward to see more of your work!
Beautiful. So well done. I'll keep watching 😊
Really nice video to showcase the strengths of the new systems in cs2, I love the realistic approach to create a rural landscape with small selections of houses spread out throughout the farmland, glad that the new road system allows that relatively easy now
First time watching a video of yours. Really truly enJOYed it very much. This is my fav CS2 video to date! Excited to see where the town goes next.
16:50 It’s been so long since I’ve watched him but is that a Keralis reference? 😂 I love it
One of the best videos about the game) I will keep an eye on the city longer, subscribed)
So glad we have you Silvarret. Was getting tired of everyone building the same thing, to the point that it had made me less excited about the game. After the Gamescom fiasco where everyone was more interested in taking selfies and answering their Twitch chat, this is refreshing.
This city is absolutely amazing, I've literally watched over 10 different cities skylines 2 gameplay videos today. This was easily the best one, just subbed.
So, so lovely! - this build is really standing out from all the other videos on C:S2! Nice work!
Love how you gamed the trees! Best of all the builds so far ! Subscribed ❤

So gorgeous! Can’t wait to see how you progress this 🤩

Your pre-release videos are my favorite of the batch, and really I like the rural stuff you've done.
Nice build!!!! the organic look is so difficult, and you made it look very simple.
I love how you decided on a theme and then did the great research. Also how you slowed down the XP progression. Haven't seen anyone else do that.

One of the few if not only videos I've seen on CS:2 focused on detailing. With the new road building I think you can make something really interesting, excited to see where this goes.
Always a fantastic sign when developers give out early access copies like this. Can’t wait to watch.
Thank you for putting the time in to making the best CS2 pre release video. It is brilliant, stunning and by far my favorite out of the content creators videos. Straight up Subscribed... Cant wait for release day and more to come from you Silvarret :) Cheers!
This is (unsurprisingly) among the top game plays of Cities 2 so far. Looks great!

These sorts of cities are my favorite types to build and you're absolutely killing it!
This is sublime. I've never used Google Maps when playing CS1 but I'm 100% going to take inspiration from your design and use that resource once CS2 comes out 🧡
Excellent video as always, Silv!
Excellent job, it looks really great
Look forward to watching this build its so much nicer than the usual grid build i usually have to watch
One of the cool things about the CS2 video drops has been youtube recommending videos to me from outside my little subscription bubble. Loved this build, mate. Happy to subscribe, very keen to see more!
First time I watch any of your videos. Awesome approach and beautiful setup. So different from all other content creators. Very refreshing.
Beautiful work mate. Bravo 👏
I've watched probly 15 of these CS2 gameplays, this is the best one
This video helped me calm down before a date. Thank you!
Ironically by just doing your own thing you've added far more to the conversation than most others. The other creators made videos on exploits and ridiculous scenarios, but you're showing the game as it really is, in a clear and slow manner. That's incredibly valuable lol, good video
I always get so excited when I see you post a new video
Don't worry, I think this video was the perfect length. Enjoyed it a lot!
That was great thankyou 😊
Love it. So excited for this game
Love the Downton Abbey soundtrack at the end. Very appropriate 👌

Thank you @Silvarret for taking a different approach than many of the other KZreadrs out there. I can't wait for the game to arrive. I've been waiting for this sequel for so many years as well.
Ooo! So cool! I’m looking forward to the addition of a train station or public transport into these towns
OMG YES YOU'RE BACK TO CITIES SKYLINES! please stay

Cool video and I loved the nod to Keralis
That is just awesome and gorgeous! What a great job you did! I live in Belgium and it feels like home even though it’s British countryside. There’s this vibe from European countryside, it’s a really nice idea and really well done!
I am so excited for thos game to launch. To be able to build a rural area as realistic as this from the start is brilliant
Super eager to see what else you get to do with the game! This "city" is already looking great... but I feel like for it to really be authentic, the name needs to be much sillier :P
Very cool idea. Looking forward to your next videos
Haha the Downton Abbey-esque music at the end was a nice touch
very cool! can't wait to see more
You nailed it dude.
You NAILED the idea of adding little hamlets in between farms/forests. Makes it seem so much more like the UK!
