Parkitect: Taste of Adventure (Part 7) - Dragon Valley

Ойындар

Dragon Valley features a setting inspired by Zhangjiajie National Forest Park with its iconic pillar mountains. This terrain makes for a unique environment where all the paths and flatrides have to be carefully puzzled together, but with ample space in the valleys between for meandering roller coasters!

You're bang on the money about the "passive viewing" when you spoke about it. I mean this in the nicest possible way, but your videos have been the absolute best 2nd monitor content I've watched and enjoyed for years, and have done since your very first PlanCo video. I think you take the crown from them all due to commentary. I could listen to you all day speak about the things your passionate about.

yeah you have outdone yourself again, the vertical drop coaster building is absolutely stunning. I might be one of very few, but I enjoy watching these videos with full focus for over an hour. I also like to close an eye sometimes, but I always make sure I rewind back and don't miss anything.

You have no idea how excited I was to see this pop up in my notifications. I've missed this series so much, and seeing this incredible build just blew me away Silv, I have no idea how you manage to make such stunning parks every time. I'm not a "passive viewer" so the idea is kind of odd to me, but I can easily see this as something to sleep to or leave on in the background. Also, I watch videos all at once and this was a very relaxing hour.

So glad you're playing more Parkitect. I always thought your parks here looked more visually appealing than the parks in PlanCo. I'm not sure what it is, probably the art style. Can't wait to watch you play more of this.

For some creators that do parkitect/planet coaster I do have them on in the background while I do other things. However for your videos I shamelessly pay 100% attention, at least the first time I watch it. Definitely great to fall asleep to, very relaxing lol.

this was my favorite episode! the pillar mountains worked so nicely, and the path being high up with the coasters traversing the valleys worked so well, i loved every minute of it! also, just to weigh in as well, i watch the videos fully when they come out 100% attention, and then i rewatch them later as like podcasts / something to listen to whilst doing something else!

To answer the question of what I do while watching: usually I give the video my full attention, sometimes I'll watch in the background while building in the Sims, but for this video, I'm actually cross stitching! I got a big Stardew Valley cross stitch pattern for Christmas but I haven't stitched for about a decade, when I was a kid, so I've started by doing some smaller designs. I've just started to do the summer tree from cyber stitchers, my biggest project so far 😊

Love the Chinese rep! Chinese architecture is kind of underrepresented/merged with Japanese stuff nowadays, and it’s great to see a foreigner finally begin to respect the differences between the two. I have a lot of recommendations when it comes to cool/strange Chinese buildings and parks, but I was a bit late to the party for that haha. I guess if anyone wants them just let me know.

27:10 once noticing, I cannot unsee anymore how he finished of the fence on the edges as well for that spinning's MCBR, result in the train going right through it xD Once again a very astonishing build. As you mentioned early in the video, it’s the vertical layering in paths/squares which adds a nice extra dimension to the whole park. And by using the island as the only places for paths and buildings with only coasters going down the cliff makes the whole scene just feel right. Watching your videos is always a pleasure. It's amazing to see how even some very complex buildings can come so easily from you with just laying out the base structure. And how all the little parts just blend together so nice is astonishing. In that way when I watch your video's, it always turns out I'm solely watching the video and not doing anything else (Couldnt do it was well since when I try to work on stuff, I would need both my 2 screens, and would block the video's screen as well which is a shame).

You're bang on that these pillar mountains wouldn't be able to support a theme park. Geographers know the landforms as tower karst, which form in areas susceptible to frequent cave-forming and sinkholes. Essentially, they're the remaining towers of limestone/other weaker rocks that didn't collapse with the rest of their surroundings. You get some amazing naturally-occuring features, but because the rock is quite weak, building just about anything significant on them wouldn't be a great idea. But I'm sure the Chinese government won't mind when they see how fantastic the finished product looked :)

Blows my mind to say this but-as of next week-I’ve been watching your videos for 8 years now. I always sit down and give them my full attention, whether I get through them in a single session or need to break them up throughout a busier day. One thing I could see being beneficial to a viewer like me is using the chapters feature to indicate different sections of the video (Timelapse: Extreme Spinner, Real-time Overview 1, etc.). KZread doesn’t always seem to save my viewing progress when I’m moving between devices, so it can be helpful on the days when I’m watching across different sessions to have markers on the timeline for context. Re: THIS video, truly a magnificent park! You seriously get better every time, it’s a joy to watch. I don’t have time (or the computer) to dig into theme park sims like I used to, so I value listening to your very thoughtful approach to park design/coasters/architecture. It’s always worth the wait.

I'm honestly not a fan of theme parks but I love design and architecture and I like theme park design games based off that, and so I really love your videos. I definitely stop to watch your videos fully, I love seeing the process you go through while building, how I can see your design process and what you're thinking as you go. I definitely could feel your frustration building the Eurofighter xD I absolutely ADORE the entrance/city/first island area. The intricate buildings on top of each other, the different styles, the verticality and the rides integrated into it. It just feels so full of life. Absolutely beautiful. I really like the temple area too. I can totally imagine it being an actual temple complex, with the rides removed, with pavilions and plazas and floors. For some reason, I also really like the bridges between the two, and diverting off to the powered coaster area. It feels nice, and gives a good amount of negative space to contrast with the very busy and detailed mountaintops. I think your tracked rides were a bit less interesting overall on this park. Not bad, but I think not your best productions yet. Maybe its just that the guest areas and buildings steal all the attention so much. Also, those pillars are just called... Pillars, for as far as I could find. But the large ones, with a flat walkable surface resemble south-american tepuis a lot.

@28:00 you say about the brake run. luckily enough for you however, the trains will never ever stop here. The run is realistically a 'passing run'. There are a few of these in real life but they're usually the transfer tracks found on a hydraulic launched coaster like kingda ka etc. They exist because there is no chain block etc and so are designed to just allow the train behind to move onto its journey. So yeah technically even though it's technically a design flaw in real life (barely and only because of something like a power outage literally miliseconds after the train launched) it will never stop in that location in game :)

I'd love to see a new episode of your parkitect builds. Or even a park outside to campaign? There are some quite interesting maps on the steam workshop - maybe you could take a look at them? And there is the multiplayer version which is - after some painful months - quite stable now. Building with more players on one park could be really cool, too!

This is the best park, in my opinion! I wish we could see it in POV ^^

the Chinese stone forests were formed by mostly water, as the slight acidity in rainwater slowly erodes the limestone over time. (Karst does that) similar landforms in the deserts can form from wind though, such as some hoodoos. Source: geology major

Great vids keep up the good work. What I would like to see is a zero g stall on one of your single rail coasters especially know that jersey devil has one. You keep adding zero g rolls not saying it's bad but I think it'll be cool to see how you do it and it'll spice things up. And I know the next campaign has one so maybe you can do it then.

There is an Infitity CTR, but it would probably be like Monster or Karacho being 4x2, maybe 4x3 like Mystic

How do you place your small cubes together to form structures off the grid so perfectly? Everytime I try this it ends up as a jagged mess

I heard you mention in a video, that you can find more scenarios to play on one of the creators steam workshop page. Do you remember his name (or any other source of new cool scenarios to play)?

I always try to watch the whole playthrough, although most of the times i start watching in bed, and fall asleep haha. But i always complete them when i wake up. Also, what are your thoughts on “Planet Coaster 2” and would you like to see them improve the career mode, to make it more realistic and fun to play, just like Parkitect?

I just wish a PlanCo 2 would come sometime soon. I highly doubt it. But if it does, I'm gonna focus on sandbox anyway :)

@@Silvarret Haha that’s what i figured and obviously what you’re good at. I saw a picture on reddit about leaked Frontier titles, planet zoo was on there just like jurrasic world evolution 2, much like you i don’t think it will come soon though haha, but i’m already looking forward to see what you can create in that game.
