Cities: Skylines II - St. Luke (Part 4) - Harbours & Farms

Ойындар

Welcome back to St. Luke! It's been a while. Today's episode is all about expanding the areas around the big city on the St. Luke map, adding harbours, farms and suburbs until it (hopefully) convincingly looks like the city is located in an real region.
The build is supposedly in the UK, so we're using the UK spelling for the title ofc 🤙💪🤘✌️

Silv, it looks ridiculously good! I can't believe you're able to achieve something that looks like this without any kind of painting or detailing tools. Incredible.

I can't stop being amazed by your playstyle approach of building in the current state while keeping in mind the history of how the history of the city runs in your head. It's like a painter painting from top to bottom instead of feature to feature. I would certainly be interested to see you do a playthrough of phase-to-phase or era-to-era and watch how the city grows and development evolves through time. Keep up the amazing work. I truly enjoy the quality content you've made and am looking forward to seeing more in the future.

About farms cutting in to forests. Here in Sweden the issue wasn't starting to care about preserving the woods, but that the terrain itself is often just too stony and rocky, just too much work to be worth it compared to the already cleared areas. That's why there are often little sort of islands of woods scattered around on much agricultural land. Another way to still use this terrain is as pasture, because then the rocks and the occasional tree doesn't matter.

I do not think you should rush it, it takes time to build and to cut videos together. Having material enough for a 36 minute video is massive. Then you need the time as well, re-watching and picking out parts allso takes a lot of time. Make the best of what you get is more important then just for the sake of making videos. Now that said, you could make two 15ish minute videos and releasing them with a few days apart. But I think you should go with your concept!
