Planet Coaster - Aerobats of Arabia (Part 3) - Station Building

Ойындар

Inspired by Persian architecture of the 15th through 17th century, the station building of Aerobats of Arabia is an imposing structure by necessity, hiding two large station halls for both coasters behind a mosque-like facade. Join me as I try to fit this big box into the layout of the park with many a Thememaker's Toolkit item along the way.
Chapter timestamps:

It's always pure pleasure to watch your videos, Silvarret. I appreciate how much this channel resembles the essence of what KZread used to be - A person and their video-taped interests. No adds, no money-begging, no sponsors. Just a guy with a hobby and his viewers, with similar interests. Thank you for many years with a lot of good content.

In the front, the two ques could be the standard entrance and the other one could be single rider line or like the express line that you pay extra for a pass. It would be hard to do along the line but in front you could make it work

That's a really good idea! I have no idea how a single rider queue would work with a ride with 4 separate queues already, but I'll give it some thought.

@@Silvarret A few parks I have been in have the single-rider queue split off from the main one just before the actual station, usually saving around 10 to 15 minutes if you're lucky.

The interieur and exterieur of the mosque look stunning as always. Keep up the great work Silv! I'm a bit on the fence about the huge rock in front of what is argueably the most important building in the city. I just can't see how that could happen from an urban planning perspective. I'm always excited to get back to planet coaster or planet zoo after watching your vids, to quickly realize that my skills and patience are simply not enough.

It really is weird Frontier didn’t add splitable queus, especially since something like that doesn’t seem like it would be too complicated to code. Anyway, you still made that entrance work like a dream! That mosque has got to be one of the most beautiful facades built in this game thus far :)

Also I can imagine the not-coaster fans waiting on that bridge trying to make a photo from their group-mates when they come downwards towards the bridge. awesome series! minor correction minerets were traditionally used by a muazin who give the call to prayer, akin to a bell tower in a church. so the call could be heard by everyone the mineret was constructed. obviously with speakers, muazin no longer needed to climb all the way up so minerets stayed as decorative pieces even though their original purpose was redubdant.

Once again a beautiful build. This kind of chic Arabian architectures (like mosques) is actually one of my favorite (and I've always found it very fun to work on with my FataMorgana related 3d models in Sketchup). The way arch-shapes and ornaments are blend into a structure/building is quite magnifecent and you really hit that spot perfectly here. Especially with the facade at the entrance which looks gorgeous with all the detailing and ornaments. It's also quite facinating to see how it looks so detailed, but when you watch it be build it comes of so easy (of course ignoring all the trial and error you probably did before recording this video). Nevertheless, there are 2 points I think might need improvement or could be fixed. First thing you might already know, but my OCD cant ignore how the big arches in the stations are not in the middle of the track. I don't know how easy it would be to fix this, but I would really consider to do so because to me it's quite annoying. Furthermore, I don't like how you did the rockwork under the drop after the MCBR. It feels very unnatural because of various reasons. It's quite steep (which you didnt make yourself easy with the steep drop on the coaster there, I think a less steep drop on the coaster there would have been nicer both for the flow on the ride, as well as for the landscaping/area design). And also you only cover the areas directly under the drop with rocks. If this rockhill was extended on both sides, especially on the non-station side with additional landscaping, it could come of much better. Because know it's quite a steep cliff out of nowhere. But besides that, it looks absolute incredible. Keep it this amazing work!

This episode was a real treat! Love the high level of detail you dedicate to everything while also maintaining the sense of how a real park would approach it - i.e. beautiful front facing facades and enclosed outdoor area. Would have loved to see you tackle a bazaar but I imagine it would be quote the challenge. Looking forward to the development of this series!

Always a good day when Silv uploads Love the interior! Especially at night, with the lights. Can't wait to see it full of guests. Also really like the spiralling tiles on the minurettes. Such a nice way of adding some design and texture to them On the mid course break run, I wonder if you will add a realistic (ish) way for people to leave the ride if needed, since that's half the purpose of a MCBR, and if so how. It's a challenging thing to do with coasters that need to be accessible from both sides.

Fantastic work, I’m blown away each episode by how you’ve been able to weave the ride and scenery into each other. Feels like the culmination of skills you’ve honed on a the previous projects, both RCT3 and Planet Coaster, and I can’t wait to see the final result. With the second half of the ride, are you planning to have it be exclusively story-based, or will there be some sort of climatic coaster element as well?

A lil detail that kept bugging me at the end: the facade with the red cloth in front of it has the fake wall-scruffs, but they don't go all the way to the top! Other than that little nit-pick, great video! Amazing how you can just build a mosque out of planet coaster material!

gorgeous theming as usual, one thing i kinda want to nitpick on since you're always trying to keep thing realistic is the mid course would ideally have an acces/evacuation stair set so a mechanic can reach the mid course break run or have a safe evacuation point when the ride is stalled from an upward issue making it the train sitting on the midcourse cannot complete it's course... i know this is a very minor detail but i think it'd make this considerably more realistic. also like the hint of how you're planning the transfer/storage track with the lift system it looked like you where going to do instead of sliders to take/add cars onto the track from storage...
