Parkitect: Taste of Adventure (Part 5) - Jungle Adventures

Ойындар

Back at it again with building theme parks on heritage sites! (I wanted to draw a heart here but less/more than signs are banned from descriptions for some reason. What's up with that? I feel like they're pretty harmless characters. I think some people call them chevrons. I'm not sure if my description is explaining what they look like well enough, but then again, I'm not allowed to use them here. Anyway, I'm going to bed)

42:29 the flying and the wing coaster synchronizing their cobra rolls side by side wile Silvarret rambled about coaster features is my new happy place. I could get high on watching that over and over again. Love the theming, although the pathways were very messy and convoluted. When you mentioned Horizon Zero Dawn I IMMEDIATELY got what you were saying and it totally looks like the City of the Sun in-game, absolutely!

A nice idea I'd like to see is that, whenever a real-life coaster or themepark is mentioned you also pop in a few pictures for those who don't know what you're talking about. ...Mainly because I know next to ZERO about themeparks and their respective rides.

@@Silvarret ngl for a bit I was very confused what you were talking about regarding "Terran" in phantasialand, especially considering that I was there literally last month. Taron is also my favorite coaster there atm, and I love the layout even though it might be "suboptimal". Also I always get excited when you mention my home parks so to speak (phanta and europa) they aren't mentioned all that often in coaster discourse compared to the more well known parks.

I went to Disneyworld Orlando when I was a nipper (about 7 years old). After three days of almost constant walking/queuing etc, I was pretty tired, so my parents suggested we hire a pushchair/stroller from a place we passed. Being 7, i thought I was way too old for a pushchair, but noticed that they also rented out wheelchairs. And so began one of the funniest and most surreal days ever (and now I guess people would probably be horrified, but it's still a good story) as we were treated to the best of American hospitality. We were picked out from queues and immediately ushered to the front of every ride, with smiles and calls of "come right to the front!, "how many people in your party?" etc, whereupon I would stand up from the wheelchair and get into the rides (nobody seemed to mind this, and there were no cries of "It's a miracle!" or, "Hey that kid's faking!" I also remember me and my brother and sister taking turns to push each other in the chair, and even doing some running quite fast and then letting go, so the one in the chair would career off down the path while other parkgoers stared at us in disbelief. Great days!

Never gonna be mad about art deco inspiration, it's one of my favorite architectural/aesthetic styles. And Horizon: Zero Dawn certainly has some really nice designs to draw from as well. Somehow the fantasy temple mashup all works together here! I'm disappointed that you can't designate your own map trophies, cuz that Eurofighter tower is such an amazing build, sticking out over the jungle just to make sure everybody knows where we've been wrecking the enviroment :P

21:40 There is a very good reason why they do not build a Cobra Roll, Loop, or Immelman from starting with the flying position. The forces and their change from 1g to approx 3-4 gs might be to strong. Considering the guests would be pulled into the vest restraints. B&M is known for designing Roller Coasters in a very conservative way. The design of those Flying Coasters is completely different compared to the Inverts even though they look quite similar. The sitting/flying position makes a huge difference.

I think it could work if they have the loops part lying down (to make the forces better to handle) and than invert for the corkscrew part. 1) go down lying down 2) go up (half loop) and at the top invert to flying 3) two corkscrews 4) invert to lying again 5) go down the 2e halfloop

Thunderbird is an excellent one-of-a-kind coaster and is totally worth a trip to Holiday World. I got a lot of ride time on it last week, and it's definitely in my top 10 coasters that I've ever ridden. It's got such an amazing 360 inline-twist at the end that feels completely different depending on which wing you sit in, and you basically float in the harness. The launch into a huge Immelmann is great as well. If you ever travel across America hitting parks, Holiday World is a must just for Thunderbird and The Voyage.

I incidentally built a launched wing coaster and flying coaster on the exact same plots of land that you used - with similar elements, too. Love when level design leads to similar coaster building conclusions. I also built a floorless coaster intersecting the back half of the wooden coaster - my only difference was the unlock randomizer gave me a monorail coaster, so I used that instead of the eurofighter. Not a fan of the outside-facing flying coaster half loops. Debates about rider safety and comfort aside, they just look really wrong to me. Loved the 3 intersecting cobra rolls, though.

Hi Silv, web dev here: Read your description and while I can't say for sure as I don't know how KZread is coded, a probable reason you aren't allowed to use less than or greater than signs in descriptions is because those are used for HTML code. If KZread doesn't do some special treatment to user input on descriptions, those symbols could be used to insert harmful code that can be executed in the browser of anyone viewing the page. Normally most websites would do that special treatment, but KZread is constructed using twigs, spit, and a prayer, so it isn't that unfeasible that they omit it. Anyways, killer park this time around, the coaster layouts are super well done especially given that terrain. Though I do have to wonder if there's a reason you didn't add any flat rides (though I suspect it's the same reason you gave for why you only built your food court at the end too lol).

Tbh that accidental double queue is kinda clever in a way. The area is pretty compact so there isn’t much room to have a long queue so by splitting the queue you can have more people waiting for the ride plus you have split up the congestion that would have been going to one queue line.

I think the cobra roll would make a lot more sense laying on the back. All the looping elements on flying coasters have you on the back for them because the vest restraint system would most likely make the centrifugal force very uncomfortable.

I really appreciate that this game allows building while paused. RCT never had that until it was added as a 'cheat' in openrct2. Seems like something like that should be standard, not a cheat. Building elaborate coasters in real time is all fine for very experienced players, but it's hell on the casuals.

I think a cobra roll would work on a flying coaster if you inverted it like the pretzel loop: the loop parts should be lying down (to minimise the strain on the neck) and the corkscrew should be the flying part.
