Devon Call Change video's.
The emphasis of Devon Call Change ringing is based on simplicity but our aim is to produce quality striking on any number of bells.
On my channel I hope to showcase our style of ringing not only from inside the ringing chamber but also how the bells sound when listening from the church yard.
I do hope you enjoy listening.

Nice peal! Good video!
I love zis set of bells, zey are werry pleasant to ze ear.
Nice to hear the full peal again. Very nice ringing I thought
@@DevonRingerEwan cheers, I was pleased with it, 1st half was better than 2nd, DSM's 2nd half was top notch, close run thing but an enjoyable day, one of the best in the last few years
@@ryantrout6094 It was indeed. I managed to get a little ring once all the teams had rung🤣 any idea where it will be next year?
@@DevonRingerEwan no idea at all
@@ryantrout6094 hohoho sound like dunsford which are whitechapel
Hi Ryan, a distant relative here in Somerset. We share the same great grandfather bell ringer William of Over Stowey.
Do you have a family tree to verify this? I have no idea who William Trout of Over Stowey was. Regards, Ryan
@@ryantrout6094hi Ryan, I may have had a senior/blonde moment lol! I thought I had read on an internet search that you had mentioned a William Trout but I think I was actually reading a very old comment of my own on a podcast you did. Anyway, would be good to figure out the family connection anyway as we are both Trouts and descend from Devon.
@@dawnpetteford6726 it is interesting
@@ryantrout6094 who is your dad, grandad and I’ll see if I can figure out where they might be on the tree. But yes I have a great grandfather who was a bell ringer for decades.
Lovely ringing and bells. What is making that thumping noise? Not that it spoiled your beautiful ringing, it rather added to the rhythm!
We thought it was one of the ropes knocking on the guide or on a flapper board perhaps
Lovely sounding peal of bells especially as the back 6. Lovely striking as always, will look forward to hearing your peal at Kentisbeare on Saturday 👍
I'm hoping we can re-create something like this on Saturday, but who knows, up against lots of good teams and although Kentisbeare are nice, they will pose problems
@ryantrout6094 Kentisbeare are nice bells mind but I have had a few problems with them myself. Still, best tower picked for a final for a while.
@@ryantrout6094Will you upload your Kentisbeare video?
@DevonRingerEwan yes, I will be, just haven't had much time recently
Ryan, nice striking pleasure to listen to.
Thanks for the kind comment, Bob
@@ryantrout6094 could you make a video of all 8?
Hi. I hope Roger is OK? Haven't seen him for a while 😊
Dad is fine, but has stepped aside this year
Lovely little 8 they are!!!!!
Not the best sounding peal. Most people don't really care about the sound but I find I don't enjoy the ringing as much if they sound bad. Well done 👏
The a lovely tone for there age but heavy 6.
Shaugh Prior always win absolutely brilliant they are.
Not always mate, and we haven't come up against Combeinteignhead or the mighty Down St Mary yet this season. From what I've heard DSM are ringing very well and will be hard to stop.
@@ryantrout6094 yeah i know 😉 but i prefer your team better than the others & yes as you got Down St Mary & Kingsteignton as well as Combeigntenhead there a really really good team. Everyone says Kingsteignton are always winning on the 8s as the captain there as won on every bell very very talented that.
These sound really nice, lovely striking too
Not the easiest, as you will hear, plenty of errors in this. Appreciate your comment
still very good ringing👍
A rarebut beautiful sound👌👌👌✌️❤️🇬🇧🙏
Our bells at galleywood in Chelmsford. sound like these bells
The rope layout looks like they are hung in an 8 bell frame?? Lovely tone but look tricky.
These are one of my favourite sixes but wow funny full circle ring. Great video.
Blinding bit of ringing. I've not seen people ring with a coil before. I'd have a knot, but what do I know?
they sound good
Beautiful bells and the sequences are so clearly defined. Thank you.
Great video, they seem great. They keep you listening
I've rung there 5 years ago on a trip with my team Berrynarbor & they don't go to bad but lovely bells.
Hmm. Warner bells dont really appeal to me. 😂
I've not rung there i was but couldn't get hold the captain on his house phone.
I've been there two & there lovely bells they are the newest 6 in Cornwall. Apparently they were nice before.
Brilliant video & i've been there but not rung.
Great video's. Are you on or were on a trip down to cornwall?
Just some practising for the upcoming comps.
@ryantrout6094 Ah fair enough. I have been practising for some too
@@ryantrout6094 nice warner bells frame cast by john taylor
That's a really looking church. And the bells sound superb too. Lovely ringing as always! My parents now live in Cornwall so you might see me in that general area of the UK at some point if I visit them.
These ringers are a very very top best team from Shaugh Prior & thanks for the video ryan 😊 they go nice these bells!!.
Very nice bit of ringing, thanks for posting Ryan. Hope you enjoyed your visit and outing.
Many thanks, excellent day
Tidy bit of top ringing. Maybe a handful of faults if being very picky. 👍🔔
How often do the bells ring like this?
Depends where you are in the world, if you are in Devon, this sort of ringing will happen most days of the week at different villages and towns
Amazing!
The striking is really good, excellent ringing. I forgot how the Cornish striking doesn't have a slight gap/pause between the lead and tenor.
That pitch reminded me of Yealmpton, 2nd overtook the treble on 1st pull. These seem alright.
I'd say our treble man didn't quite go away quick enough at the start
@ryantrout6094 yes as the 2nd and third are in the correct space, at first I thought it was the 2nd too tight
Mesmerising watching and listening .
Landulph thought that was near St Martin By Looe & there quite nice sounding sixes out there & just listen to this striking my favourite when it's kept like that awwwww beautiful!!!!!.
Thanks for listening
@@ryantrout6094 the tower looks almost like brownsea island
Beautiful bells: noble and rich.
Ahh… I love listening to the Devon Call Change.. theyre my fav :)
Lovely 8.
My favourite 6 in devon (so far)
Ringers can rise 19cwt & 20cwt tenor's on there own but must always pull after the treble. Not the one in front & heard they risen 24cwt tenor's on there own!!!!!! There shoulders are like mountain's.
Incredible ringing
Very nice you lot. Beautiful ringing
Excellent call changes and striking and cartwheeling in Devon tradition 😊
Wonderful and glorious!
Great ringing, Devon call changes is new to me but I don't ring at the moment but ringing is missed a lot.
I love to see you visit Deeping St James in Lincolnshire, they are lovely bells for this sort of ringing on.
Good to see one of the ringers ringing with the Devon Ringers. I assume he now travels with you lot now.
Which ringer?
@@ryantrout6094 Alban
He and I rung at same tower and therefore I known him for long time. We both rung from young ages. Alban advanced more with his method ringing to me.
Wow! Amazing! 👍👍
