The bells of St Mary, Whimple, East Devon

The six bells form a very pleasant ring, they are rung from the large ground floor ringing chamber and handle extremely well. The bells are from various founders, but they blend together very well and are enough of a challenge to keep you focused.
The bells were last re-hung by John Taylor & Co in 1929, they recast the 4th and hung the bells on new fittings in a cast iron frame dated from the same time. Treble and 2nd cast by Llewellins & James of Bristol 1886, 3rd by I T dated 1450, 4th by John Taylor 1929, 5th by the Medieval Exeter foundry dated 1400 and the Tenor by Thomas Birdall dated 1600. 3rd, 5th and Tenor all listed. Tenor weigh's 12-2-15 and is in the key of G.
The fairly large village has a couple of pubs, The New Fountain is worth seeking out.
Ringers in this video - Treble - Nick Trout, 2nd - Natasha Trout, 3rd - Angie Trout, 4th - David Crocker, 5th - Ryan Trout & Tenor - Steven Trout.

Hi Ryan, a distant relative here in Somerset. We share the same great grandfather bell ringer William of Over Stowey.

Do you have a family tree to verify this? I have no idea who William Trout of Over Stowey was. Regards, Ryan

@@ryantrout6094hi Ryan, I may have had a senior/blonde moment lol! I thought I had read on an internet search that you had mentioned a William Trout but I think I was actually reading a very old comment of my own on a podcast you did. Anyway, would be good to figure out the family connection anyway as we are both Trouts and descend from Devon.
