The bells of All Saints, Combeinteignhead, Devon

The church of All Saints lies in the pretty village of Combeinteignhead, the village and its pub, The Wild Goose are worth spending some time in.
The bells form a very challenging ring of six, hung on plain bearings and elm headstocks. The back 3 bells being very odd struck, especially 5th and Tenor. There is clearly some tower movement that doesn't help with the handling. Saying all that, once you get them, they can be rung fairly well.
The bells are mainly from the Whitechapel foundry. Treble by Mears & Stainbank 1883, 2, 3 & 4 by Mears & Stainbank 1873, 5th from the Medieval Exeter foundry dated 1560 and the Tenor by Thomas Pennington 1633.

Pity we couldn't settle down at the start! Tough bells but rewarding
