A channel dedicated to the best of my storm chasing videos from around the UK. I have been an avid fan of weather since an early age and began chasing storms back in 2004. Since then I have recorded over 100 hours of weather footage, of which my most recent and best pieces are showcased here. Some of this footage has appeared on TV programmes such as Britain's Wildest Weather. My older videos can be found elsewhere on KZread, this channel is for videos from 2015 onwards. Hello do you live in Begles
Hello. I don't, I live in the UK. I was just staying over for the night.
@@supacellstormchasing do you have any friend over there?
No I don't. I just went over to France to chase storms.
Great footage as always, that's two videos in two days, not bad! Were you on holiday and it just happened to be stormy, or did you head over to France to see some thunderstorms? If so I applaud your dedication 😉 looking forward to tomorrow's episode 😅
I deliberately went to France just for the storms. If I had longer I would have moved on to Germany. But I was only able to be out up until Wednesday. Definitely a worthwhile trip though 🙂
Some nice storm footage 👌 👍
Thank you 🙂
Absolutely brilliant! Really enjoyed that thanks, I bet you were well pleased! 😀⚡⚡
Thank you. I was in my element, very pleased 😁
Great video! Nearly an hour and half of storm footage is a lovely pick me up for all us British storm fans. I'm over in France for a couple of weeks in August, hopefully I'll get something similar, I usually get at least one decent storm whenever I visit.
Thanks 👍. It certainly was a nice pick me up for me. I'm happy that I can share the experience. France is always a good bet for a storm when storms are forecast. The UK is a bit more tempremental.
the storms that we get in the uk are rubbish compared to the storms that France get and Germany get
There Was Thundery Showers Today Have You Chased Them Yet?
I stayed close to home as there were thundery showers here and so didn't need to go far. I did a little bit of chasing. If the video is any good when I check it then I'll put it up.
@@supacellstormchasing Okay, Good That You Have Thundery Showers Close To Your Home.
Thunderstorms are expected on Friday 14th & Saturday 15th
There will be a lot of showers and could be some thunderstorms mixed in on both days, yes.
@@supacellstormchasingexperienced a thunderstorm on the 14th. Caught 7 bolts in the sky with spectacular thunder
Just had a little one here, although didn't see any bolts. More opportunities tomorrow 🙂
@@supacellstormchasing the thunderstorm I was hit by started producing lightning, stopped then as soon as it came over us it started producing lightning again Also Stockport & Manchester have high thunderstorm risks according to weather
Cloud seeding??
I'm not sure on that one I'm afraid
Impressive footage of these storms, particularly the one that you were on during the most of the video that you saw move out to sea! Where do these storms go once they head out to sea?
Thank you. If the storms are surface based, like this one, then they die once they hit the cold sea. This one died out just a few miles off the coastline. If the storms are elevated then they trundle across the sea to the European continent. Although its rare that elevated storms move out to sea from the UK, they normally move into the UK from Europe.
There were some very intense pulse storms around on Sunday, and they missed me sadly.😢
Hopefully you get the chance to see something next time
Fantastic video! that was a well deserved storm after all that driving, thanks for sharing
Haha, yes the drive was worth it. Thank you.
Great video 👍 some nice storm structure and hail footage 👍👍
Thank you 🙂
Could Be A Risk Of Thundery Showers Tommorow So There Could Be A Risk Of Storm Chasing Tommorow Due To A Thunderstorm Warning
I will be out chasing tomorrow. Hopefully I catch something 👍
@@supacellstormchasing Have You Managed To Catch The Storm Today
Yes, I caught three storms. Video should be up by end of tomorrow.
The time is coming when we will need you storm chasers as much as they do in the States. I have been following their run of tornados and derechos. (And, commenting on a video of the Houston derecho, given them a ticking-off over their school boards removing climate change from the curriculum!) I was near the Birmingham Tornado of 28 July, 2005. The wrather was certainly extraordinary; I have never before experienced an intense Warm Front - droplets were oozing out of the air, followed by extraordinary rain. Afterwards I saw cumulonimbus clouds racing across the sky, as though they were cumulus! A Texan expert assessed it as F2. And I think Leominster is pronounced lem-ster!
Thank you for that, I'll remember that one (Lemster). I always wonder if I'm pronouncing place names right. That derecho in Houston looked intense, as have the large number of tornadoes. Looks like more dangerous weather in parts of the USA tonight. The UK is a long way from that level of intensity with storms, although rainfall is becoming a real issue here.
Good on you for chasing through the night! The storms through the London area around 4a.m. were impressive and probably worth the wait!
I find chasing at night much easier. Less traffic congestion and easier to see the lightning in real life aswell as on radar. Although I do tend to regret it when the tiredness hits 😆
Good Video But There Is A Storm In Cheshire & Merseyside Tomorrow
There's a good chance. I should be out chasing again tomorrow.
@supacellstormchasing have you uploaded 12th May 2024 Storms
I didn't really see much. I ended up in the West Midlands as that is closer to me and it looked like storms would be there too. I should have gone to the northwest but I didn't so I missed out 😔
@@supacellstormchasing so you got lost?
No, I meant to go to the West Midlands. I thought the storms would be there. There were some, but not many and I didn't get into them.
Fantastic video! And props to you for traveling so far! Looking forward to the next one, which hopefully won't be that far off
Thank you. I'm looking at Sunday with interest. Maybe then could be the next one 🤞
Great to see you're out chasing again! ⚡ Let's hope it's a brilliant storm season this year.
Thank you. Fingers crossed that it is.
Some of that lightning is not behaving that well
Watching from New Zealand. Be safe
Watching from the other side of the world. That's awesome 🙂
I was in greyhound kennels at keston near biggin hill and I had to keep checking on the greyhounds as between 1 and 2 am it got a bit nasty
good to see uk storm chasers i watch a lot from usa
Thank you. I decided many years ago I wanted to replicate what they do in the US but in our much tamer climate. To showcase that the UK does have storms, even if they are nowhere near the scale of the US.
I remember this really well back in 2020 based in Shropshire! When it turns really dark, the wind suddenly started gusting and saw a great big flash and heard a great big bang!!!💥
There were some big storms over the 11th and 12th August 2020, especially around the Midlands 👍
Why so much lightning 🌩.. when I was younger me and my family never remember seeing soo much lightning in thunder storms only in the last 3-4 years or so... is it global warming or climate change?? Anyone have any ideas ??
Interesting thought. It tends to be the elevated storms that see the most frequent lightning, which are more common with storms from the near Continent. Areas near to the south coast would be most prone due to being closer. I have seen more storms with frequent lightning in the last few years but that could be because I am from the Midlands and now travel to the south coast regularly to see storms. I am not well educated in this but I would have thought global warming would bring an increase in moisture, and this would have the effect of more rain and flooding but less lightning. So I don't think it is related to that, but I could be wrong.
It was bad over here, south coast
These storms unfortunately just stayed a bit too far south from my location in Hertfordshire. But it was absolute bedlam down the A1M in Barnet and Borehamwood, I went shopping there the next day and all the cashiers in the shops were talking about the thunder and lightning. And parts of Surrey too got walloped.
The second part of my video is in Surrey and then I catch a storm in Watford (Hertfordshire). I think that was the northern limit. Hopefully next time you get to see them too 👍
Like on the computer and weather forecast as well mate pretty please mate
Sorry my friend. Although I'm interested in storms and weather it would take a lot of time to do this, and I'd never be able to juggle it around my full time job. If you've not already then check out @GavsWeatherVids, he produces daily forecasts and content and has a great personality to go with it 🙂

I live in Pevensey. Storm kept getting closer and closer but never quite came overheard. Hopefully get some more decent storms this year.
I passed through Pevensey. I imagine it got similar to what I saw in Eastbourne with the storms just skimming to the south.
I'm so happy that you're back for the storm season! I did wonder if you would chase these storms. I'm glad to see that you did! Great video, as always 👍
Thank you. I'm happy to be back and a great start to the 2024 season. I couldnt miss the opportunity to chase these ones 🙂
I'm glad you did! I was following these storms on the radar and lightning tracker. Certainly, pretty impressive!
❤❤❤ great
Thank you
I had it in West Sussex in Bognor Regis it was well bad
It was quite a storm for both coast of both East and West Sussex
West sussex got it right over head
A great video (as always) to start the season. I knew you would be out chasing, brighton was epic. Here in north Kent just a bit of thunder and lightning but still ok. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to your next one.
Thank you. I'm looking forward to the next chance to get out there and chase.
Love this. I was so prepared - cleared my storage, left my window ajar, opened the curtains.... Just to sleep through it all. Typical! Anyway great video. Great to see what people managed to capture.
Thank you. That's happened to me in the past before I started chasing. I felt like kicking myself 😁.
@@supacellstormchasing I was so gutted! Glad to hear I'm not the only one it's happened to!!😄
Love your videos, keep them coming.😎
Thank you. I will do, fingers crossed for a good season.
Hi great video love watching these videos u haven't added September 2023 2 chases from last year to your playlist.
Thank you, I missed that. They have now been added to the playlist 🙂
@supacellstormchasing no worries thanks for replying 👍
I live where it was and it was scary ngl
Nice to see lightning videos in my local town Worthing on the beach
I saw lightning hitting the uk on the lightning radar, are you gonna see it or not
Unfortunately I didn't. The storms were all a long way from me and were over by the time I finished work.
@@supacellstormchasing ok maybe another time
@@supacellstormchasing the south west of the Uk has some lightning in the night, do you have time to catch them?
I did, I have got a lot of footage to go through and edit. It was a great night for storms 🙂
@@supacellstormchasing good have you uploaded to youtube yet?
I think I remember this, it was awesome, I live right next to gilford and I could see the lightning lighting up the sky and the structure of the storm for about an hour before I could even hear it! It was so so loud when it got to us but the rain actually missed us so it was just purple lightning and beautiful thunder.
❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😊😊😊
Nice!! 👍👍
I actually remember seeing this storm 169miles down the road from Ivybridge Devon which was crazy I caught a couple strikes to from where I live to was a great storm to watch that
I wasn't in the best place for this storm where I ended up settling. The best part of the storm on this night was further west and hit the coast between Lyme Regis and Portsmouth.
I remember clearly in Holland in 1977, sheltering under a railway bridge, whilst watching a snow storm with lightning thrown in, it looked eerie with misty flashes, but occasionally the odd muffled thunder crashes as well. All the looks of a snowstorm, but hardly any sound.
I watch the storms over France that day come across London around midnight filmed massive lightning strike as it passed Epic Lightning u caught as well
I watched these storms approaching the south coast on LightningMaps, sadly we got very little here in Hertfordshire. One or two moderately bright flashes of lightning and one loud rumble of thunder, and that was it. 😞
Did you get the storms on the 2nd October? They looked pretty potent around Hertfordshire.
@@supacellstormchasing We did 😃 On and off during the day and well into the evening we get kept cells moving through. Some good lightning and a couple of huge thunderclaps. One strike even managed to knock out power temporarily to all of Hatfield where I live.
Interesting
