20th July 2021 - Rutland and Northants Storm Chase

Ойын-сауық

It was a hot and humid day with temperatures 28-30c and dewpoints in the high teens. A ridge of high pressure was keeping a lid on convection but some lower pressure and wind convergence were forecast to break through the "lid" and produce potentially severe thunderstorms. On this day there were a few severe thunderstorms, which produced hail and gusty winds. I interecepted one such severe storm between Stamford and Corby.

Great video, I had some Thunderstorms on 20th July too in Nottinghamshire! ⛈ Have you seen the storms down at South England last night? I made a video about that on my channel (only radar view and video clips other people recorded last night, I didn't get any storm footage because I don't live in South England)

Yes they were great. I went down to the south coast, watched them move in and then followed them inland. Video is coming soon.
