12th June 2023 - North Midlands to Cheshire Chase

Ойын-сауық

For a third consecutive day an area of low pressure around Biscay and high pressure over the near continent was drawing up a very humid south-easterly airflow, and thunderstorms looked likely to develop. Thunderstorms were expected to develop along convergence zones once temperatures reached high enough to break a cap that was in place.
It looked as though it was the Midlands once again that would be affected by thunderstorms and they had the risk of becoming severe through the late afternoon/early evening. Of particular concern was the risk of flooding due to the fact storms were likely to produce intense rainfall and were slow moving, however there was also a risk of strong winds up to 60mph and large hail.
