9th May 2023 - Storm chase from East Midlands to Home Counties
Ойын-сауық
RE-UPLOADED DUE TO EDITING ISSUE ON LAST ONE. An upper cold pool moving over the top over a warm, moist surface airmass was likely to be come unstable with just a small amount of surface heating. This was likely to lead to numerous heavy showers and thunderstorms, more especially the further east in England. Showers were expected to be slow moving, so this should have made chasing easier. However, storms were likely to build and then collapse quickly, and with a highly moist atmosphere, the result was a mess of rainfall and pop-up thunderstorms.

Love your videos lets hope this summer is hot and thundery to see your spectacular lives. ✌✌👌🏻👌🏻
Hailstones at Lamport, I live in Great Bowden which is 5 miles north of Lamport, we hardly had any rain, plenty of thunder and lightning, which is always the case with my own town of Market Harborough. The first storm you was tracking weakened west of Leicester the new cell you followed developed not far from Daventry (Northamptomshire) as it moved East into Cambridgeshire, I was watching the radar that day. Great video, lets hope the 2023 storm season continues well into the summer and into this autumn, lets hope it lasts well into Ocrober like last year.

Thanks for that info. The storms were very localised and also slow moving, so one place gets a deluge whereas 5 miles up the road it stays mostly dry.
Great video, you get about

It's a 2001 and has done 135k, so it's an old car. Not sure how many more storm chases it has left in it.
