See Ernie or Two Ton Ted? Now Ernie had a rival, an evil-looking man, Called Two-Ton Ted from Teddington and he drove the baker's van. He tempted her with his treacle tarts and his tasty wholemeal bread, And when she seen the size of his hot meat pies it very near turned her head. She nearly swooned at his macaroon and he said, "If you treat me right, You'll have hot rolls every morning and crumpets every night." He knew once she sampled his layer cake he'd have his wicked way, And all Ernie had to offer was a pint of milk a day. Poor Ernie, (Ernieeeeeeeeeee) And he drove the fastest milk cart in the west.

Not having a clue where you are going is one of those "might be a blessing, might be a curse" things! I lived, for a couple of years, within a five minutes walk from the Thames... just not YOUR Thames...but it did flow through London...just not YOUR London! You are truly blessed to be alive at this time and able to tour and record this life considering that you were at a bit of a "low ebb" several years back. You were not defeated and you "adapted and overcame". That is what we do. Cheers!

Thank you for this very fine record of the day. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm sorry about the mooring issues at Teddington - I knew it would be a little chaotic, but there wasn't a lot we could do about that beforehand, and the arrival time is determined by the tides .... Simon Judge SPCC.

At 19:52... the old Battersea Power Station. I first saw that "picturesque pile" in an episode of Dr. Who (probably in 1963 or 1964!). First time I ever saw the Daleks as well (in black and white...)! I am currently building a 1/350 scale model of HMS Belfast. Looks like everyone survived the "choppiness". Never suffered from motion sickness myself but my late elder brother would have been queasy just watching the video!

Gary A blooper re lock gates. CRT lock gates are made at Bradley on the BCN (narrow locks) and Stanley Ferry (Aire & Calder) for wide locks. There are other lock gate makers used by other canal and river authorities (EA and National Trust for example). I've always pronounced Berkhamsted with emphasis on the second syllable. You're showing your northern roots in thinking it's very industrial. You've seen now that it isn't. Jeff
