Daughter of God with aspergers ADHD and Borderline Personality Disorder here! I thought heightened emotional response and emotional regulation issues were a negative thing... But I have come to appreciate the rage issues and impulsivity I have had, because... do you want to know an interesting thing about me? When I get pissed, I ruminate. Then the stubbornness and desire to make things right builds and builds until I unleash the snarky, witty, and mic dropping comments that seem to help me build my testimony and faith and trust in God. Like Stewart from family guy, I'll get a curious mocking sing song voice that gets higher and faster : "oh, you think the book of Mormon is false hmm? Gonna ignore historical evidence that links certain tribes of Native Americans to the very tribes and stories from the book of Mormon eh? So when I needed my (haunted) home blessed and had men who hold the Melchizedek priesthood bless my home and everybody noticed the moment the dark entity left my home, that was all just a bunch of hullabaloo, eh? Somebody slept through the "do the right thing because it's the right thing to do regardless of what your friends or family may say or do" class, hmmmm?"

SO REAL- i remember being so inspired to stand up and bare my testimony, but i didnt- because i was so terrified i'd cry the moment i got up there...from terror-
Thank you for this! My wife and I both recently decided to commit to our covenants again, including going back to the temple and wearing garments. I was telling my wife that I think it's an "urban myth", an old wives tale, that you must wear your garments next to your skin. It doesn't say so anywhere in the handbook. And as a man, not that I have to, but I can't imagine having to wear the garment and then wear a bra strapped tight over the top of it, and then where all the clothes on top of that. It just seems very awkward. Granted, to each their own, it should be an individual decision. But I think there's a lot of urban myths and misinterpretations within the church. Things that people take as doctrine when they're not. From a man's perspective, the garment bottoms, briefs, that I just got at Deseret book, my body is proportioned so that the waistband of the garment bottom is about an inch too high, and sticks out of all of my pants and jeans. I just spoke to the stake president about that, and he agreed, that even the church's website states that garments can be special ordered for unique sizes, as appropriate. He gave me the go-ahead to contact the order department and get a special order so they fit appropriately. It's not as if I'm cutting 5 in off the leg. That's not at all what I'm trying to do. I just want them to fit appropriately.

I remember some missionaries from another faith came to my house telling me about how they believed in a Heavenly Mother. Then I asked them if they believed in the Trinity and they said yes. I told them that didn't really makes sense. God the Father is also a mother at the same time? Doesn't that make the two different terms pretty pointless? Also, doesn't Tri mean 3 and here wouldn't Heavenly Mother be a 4th? Unfortunately they weren't able to answer these questions at least in any way that started to make sense to me.

When it comes to hot weather, what's wrong with normal shorts or loose dresses? I'm not LDS, but I have plenty of shorts and dresses that are at least that length. Also, workout clothes for women OFTEN come even longer in that same material. My favorite length is probably ones that come down to about a third of your calves.
Well, biker shorts keep garments in place, looser fitting shorts that are knee length, can show the bottom of garments. Nothing is wrong with wearing dresses, but options are nice.

With all due respect, it seems you are living a life consumed with legalism, following human made rules and regulations that are not found anywhere in the scriptures. Jesus clearly speak out against this in Colossians 2:18-23 ”Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you. Such a person also goes into great detail about what they have seen; they are puffed up with idle notions by their unspiritual mind. They have lost connection with the head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow. Since you died with Christ to the elemental spiritual forces of this world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its rules: “Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!”?
