I've come back to this because of a very bad, decades long habit. It actually guilt trips me and definitely makes it extremely difficult to feel temple or even barely church worthy. I am mormon and I know that the law of chastidy only includes no sex before marriage and no poronography. The other things you have mentioned like not having passionate kisses or not touching other holy body parts are just recommendations.

O.K., I think there is much wisdom to the law of chastity. In Buddhism one of our five precepts is to refrain from using sexual (and sensual) energies unwisely. I wish I had known about this when I was a teenager. My problem with the LDS community is that gay marriage is imperative for gay men and lesbian women (and others in the GLBTQIA+ community) and it is beyond immoral to say "we love you but you can't get married and never can have sex" - this is truly wrong. I am a gay widower. I started having sex when I was 12 in a relationship that lasted for four years (until he passed away of leukemia). I had been sexually abused/molested/raped at 4 years of age to 7 years of age - so I was sexualized at too young of an age. I bring this up because people judge too much, you never know what another human being has been through). Now that I am Buddhist my views are very similar to the LDS position, with the exception of discrimination against gay people.

Yes, that’s what I’m saying in this video! :) I believe that the Law of Chastity is from God and it says: “We are to have sexual relations only with our spouse to whom we are legally married.” This means that we are not to provoke sexual feelings (masturbating) in ourselves. We believe that these things are sacred and should only be shared with our spouse.
