How Adversity Brings Us Closer to Jesus Christ

how to overcome adversity with the help of Jesus Christ
Hey guys, I'M BACK!
I am SO sorry that it has been so long since I uploaded a video last. From the holidays, to starting my own business last year, it has been a CRAZY time for me, but I'm back and want to start consistently uploading again! I also wanted to thank you for 4k subscribers! I am seriously grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you for supporting my channel & mission to spread the gospel through social media 🤍
In this week's video, I talk about how adversity can actually help us grow closer to the Savior, Jesus Christ through guiding us, grounding us and refining us. If you've ever wondered, "Why do bad things happen to good people?" - this video is for you.
As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (or the Mormon Church or LDS Church), we believe that Jesus Christ suffered all for us through the act of His Atonement so we could live with Him forever and so He could know how to succor His people. I am so grateful for the Lord Jesus Christ who knows EXACTLY how I feel as I endure the many challenges of living in a fallen world and in a mortal body.
Have you grown closer to the Savior through overcoming adversity in your life? Let me know in the comments below!
Thank you SO much for watching! Feel free to leave me any video suggestions you have in the comments below & if you enjoyed this type of spiritual video, please let me know and we would love to make more of them in the future for you! 💕 Be sure to subscribe to my channel if you haven't yet! The answer to your question is yes, I’ve grown closer every time. At first, I was hoping to learn all the lessons while I’m young, so I don’t have as many trials when I’m older, but lately, I’ve realized that there won’t ever be an end to trials because I’ve got SO MUCH to learn. Progression is so slow without a body that it feels like a standstill, so I don’t want to go until I have to. I also love learning, so I’m going to take advantage of this body before my spirit has to leave it!

I wrote in a note in my phone that “- We’re here to learn. God doesn’t want to take away our ability to learn by taking away our challenges. Instead, He’ll help us overcome.” And then you said the exact same thing! In different words, but still, that was insane!

You mention the scriptures a lot but never mention a single scripture that we came from heaven. Where in the Bible does it mention that we came from Heaven. How ever there are scriptures that mention once death occurs our soul doesn’t wander. Rather we’re in a deep sleep. Even Jesus makes mention of that. Also, you mention God and Jesus as separate entities, so what’s Gods name? I agree that that trials make us stronger and such. I live in Utah, and still don’t understand why LDS claim to use the Bible but skip over it and use the Book of Mormon. When the Bible strictly contradicts every thing that Book of Mormon states. Not trying to argue or anything just observations that I’ve seen. These are serious questions.

I think those are valid questions. First things first, Numbers 16:22 says “22 And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation?” How is God the Father of our spirits if our spirit has never been separated from our body? Job chapter 38 is powerful. God is asking Job, essentially, why do you think you know better than me? Who built the earth? Verse 7 says, “7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?” If we aren’t from heaven, where are God’s other sons, the ones who weren’t the Savior? Hebrews 12:9 says, “9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?” Revelation 12: “7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” Who are “they” in verse 11 if not the ones who fought with Michael in verse 7? Did the devil and his angels overcome? Ok, I don’t have time to respond to everything right now, but believe you me, I’ll be back!

@@michiganabigail i appreciate you responding. with the verses that you stated Number 16 that chapter is talking about the rebellion of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, than it mentions the judgment on the rebels. v.22 spirit of all people that means life. I get that part Job 38:7, the phrase "all the sons of God" in Hebrew idiom refers to angelic sons of God. The angels. we are not angels. nothing to do with humans. thats a separate entity. Hebrewa 12:4-11 talks about discipline from God. no mention of us being angels. in Revelations 12, no the the Devil did not over come. He lost the war and was sent to Earth with Demons "angels that became rebellious" again nothing to do with Humans. What you asked draws another question. Does the Bible, God's word contradict itself? A Redundant NO it does not. when we die we don't go to Heaven or Hell Psalm 146:4- "His spirit goes out, he returns to the ground; on that very day his thoughts perish" - this verse clearly mentions that the thoughts perish no more consciousness of any kind exist. Ecclesiastes 9:5- in part it mentions (but read the whole verse) "for the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing at all"... Ecclesiastes 9:10- "what ever you hand finds to do, do with all your might, for there is no work nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom in the Grave, where you are going." in Jesus words John 11:11- "After he said these things, he added: "Laz'arus our friend has fallen asleep, but I am traveling there to awaken him" John11:13,14 key verses*** Laz'arus had been dead for 4 days, if Lazarus had been in the heavens, would Jesus pull him from Heaven and force him to live on earth again? No he was asleep in the grave. Jesus how ever showed that the promise of a resurrection is a real promise. He said beautiful words in John 11:25 about Death and Life .

@@Youcantphazeme24 thanks for your response. Numbers 16:20-22 “20 And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, 21 Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment. 22 And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation?” Moses and Aaron said the spirits of all flesh-not the spirit of all flesh. Spirits implies that each person has a different spirit. Job 38:7 probably doesn’t make sense without understanding the Revelation verse. Hebrews 12:9 is actually more easily understood in the very context you bring up. “6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. 9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?” In regards to Rev. 12, yes, of course the devil didn’t overcome. That was rhetorical. But are angels perfect? I thought that’s what angels were to most of Christianity, a perfect backup chorus for God. Why would they need the blood of the Lamb if they’re perfect? Trick question, they don’t. But we do. Ecclesiastes 9:5&10 is talking about your body dying, not your spirit. I’m really happy for you, though. If you feel prepared to meet God, great! I’m glad you like the Bible.

@@michiganabigail I definitely not trying to sound rude, unfortunately thru text it may across as such. How ever. Ecclesiastes 9:5 and 10 is very clear. In verse 5 if the dead know nothing how can your spirit have knowledge. You definitely brushed off the Psalm verse You made no mention to the verses in John about what Jesus did for Lazarus. Let’s not confuse that we are spirits, we never were and never will be. But if you read in Revelations there is a set number of which will go to Heaven. Hell does not it exist, it’s not even mentioned in the Bible. Think of it this when you have a candle on, and blow out the candle, where does the flame go? Interesting enough if you read up on pagan beliefs from ancient Babylon, they believed in a trinity, that there’s life after death and many more traditions and beliefs that were false that went against Jehovah. Babylon was destroyed but interesting enough many of their beliefs still exist such as the trinity, hell and life after death. The book of Revelations is full of symbolism, it’s good to know what the prostitute that sits on the 10 headed Scarlett beast means. She symbolizes Babylon the great. Which contains false religions, with false ideas that that don’t align with the Bible. If our souls go back to Heaven then what am I doing here. Why am I suffering? What is the point of being in the Heavens and coming down to earth to suffer? I go back to Jesus why did he resurrect Lazarus. It’s just makes no sense at all.

@@Youcantphazeme24 I’m sorry for missing some of the scriptures-I wish we could focus on fewer scriptures, because I feel like you’re arguing something different than I am. I’ve experienced insane things in my life. I’ve had an experience like Lazarus. I know that we’re spirits because I was separated from my body, although I didn’t die. I was lost and alone and couldn’t find myself until I remembered to call upon my Savior. I found my body. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints doesn’t teach that there’s a hell. We don’t believe that those who do bad things go to hell. We believe that they still receive a portion of happiness and they’ll be taken care of. There are a few “sons of perdition.” These people knew Christ was the Savior of the world and won’t accept His sacrifice, actively working against Him. They won’t go to hell as we think of it, they’ll just be sent to “their own place,” a place which is separate from God’s glory, because they won’t accept the salvific blessing available through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The Church of Jesus Christ has never believed in a trinity. That’s why many don’t consider us Christian-which is stupid. The reason we come to Earth is to learn to be like God. As Satan tells Eve in Genesis 3:5, she would become like God if she knew “good from evil.” That’s why we’re here. To learn how to choose the good and eschew the evil. To become like God. I don’t know why He resurrected or resuscitated Lazarus. However, He did upset when He heard that Lazarus had died. But judging from my own experience, he never truly died. But that’s just my guess, it’s not an official church position.
