I have a c10 1978 two wheel drive and I’d like to convert it to a 4x4 The axles I have are from a 2nd gen dodge 3500. I hope I can use these axles. Yes I’d prefer yo use the military Dana 60 but to find one is like pulling teeth. I’m looking to swap a Cummins in the near future and I’ll be going with an Allison 6 speed built by Suncoast. I have a complete 2nd gen truck for a donor. What are the steps you’d recommend I take for this build?
Beautiful.......concealed.....4X4 SUBURBAN TRUCK. Great work .......watching from Germany. Whats......scary......the amount of fuel needed.......for your .....vacation .....
Just way to expensive
No matter what happens I love seeing videos get posted and hear your story I love seeing the builds and getting motivation from the channel I have a 84 k10 that I’m working on and this show keeps me going man
Hang in there brother, all good things will be coming soon. South Texas fan, and owner of an 87 chevy 4x4 short bed
We love you brother! Matter not where you are or end up at... We all believe in you and we support you! As someone said, keep on keepin on and build these badass toys!
Keep it up love watching your builds. I get great inspiration from you 💪
Right on James! Love your videos as I'm building my Cummins 12v Blazer. Kinda wanting pretty bad that full/family style cage and take out the more simple hoop style I already installed...
I hope what you're hinting at has to do with DIY4X shutting down, buy his designs and keep them available
We totally support you James with all your builds, ventures and moves. Thanks so much for all the invaluable content and squarebody knowledge you've shared over the years. Keep at it!!!
Thanks man. There is no stop. Just changing perspective on what I think my journey should be vs what it is!
You should consider moving from Commiefornia.
Please buy DIY4X so his products live on!
I love his stuff!
@MerricksGarage yes me as well but he's done and a lot of people don't want his products to go away.
For the longest time the Square Body Mafia has made it known this model truck was the best truck of all time.
Love your Spartan never say die attitude bro you went from stretching an extension cord across the street to build your truck to making a living owning your own shop nothing but respect 🐘🇺🇸🐘🇺🇸🐘🎬📽️🕺💃
Thanks man. I am doing exactly what I wanted to do all along which was build the best squarebody I could. Getting to do this for a living is awesome!
@@MerricksGarage don't stop 🥪😎💪
Keep on keepin on brother
I’m glad you will be working up new products for the squarebodies and I am sad to see that DIY4x will be closing, but hopefully others like you will be able to continue to offer cool products for these trucks
I would like to see that happen too.
Keep on trucking brother.
Always
He works his ass off and I loved the driveway k5 build he started with hope the new spot works out
It already has and will continue to workout. Living the dream brother!
👍👍!!!
Cool spot. Sucks you had to move again. Hang tough dude. Will you be in installing your lifts at this location?
yea, just figuring where they need to go for best use
Hang tough James
I'd like to put a cage in my 76 Blazer but don't want to lose my stock spare tire carrier. I've been racking my brain to come up with a way to carry my winch. I have hitches front and rear to mount it but would like to keep the winch stored inside in the back locked down. Maybe some kind of tray that slides out onto the tailgate in order to ease handling? I don't know?Definitely don't want to get hit by a flying winch in a mishap!
I wouldn't trust anything that slides to attach my winch to. I just use a locking hitch pin and leave it on the truck
@@MerricksGarage That's good sound advice. If I had a good solid mounting platform secured to the floor and something to slide the winch off onto so it could be pulled out onto the tailgate? My Blaze sits a little to high to reach in thru the open window and pull it out, besides those days are long gone for me! These sob's around here these days won't be deterred by a locked hitch pin. A couple years ago they used my firewood to stuff under my jeep axles in order to steal four 38.5" gumbo monster mudders and wheels!
Sold my Blazers (77 and 79) two years ago, but still watches your videos. Keep up the good work and the right mentality :)
🤔 I thought you were moving to a different state? Or was that just a different part of Cali than you were previously at?
no, just moving within Santa Barbara
Awesome 😎 Looks like a great location.
It is!
What was the cause for this newest move? Just wondering
It’s explained in the next vid
Congratualtions! Looks very promising. Full of possibilities.
Mires factor is up to 3 times the weight of the truck if it's above the fender line most will never deal with that but it is possible always use a 2 to 1 or 3 to 1 never use a straight pull unless you have to if your stuck enough to need a winch your stuck enough for a 2 to1 it saves your winch
Looks awesome, but it looks like the seats will sit a lot higher off the ground than before? I'd love to hear some feedback from users....
Hello, I have the same problem with the play on the steering, but im no to good to order parts online can you help me with a steering box brand and a rag link I already have a double steering stabilizer. I be appreciated thank you
I have a 1983 gmc jimmy
Amazing ❤❤❤
Can't believe I missed this one! I've been following Garrett on IG for years, I love his content. I had a square when I was a kid, one of these days I'll pick up another one.
Plan : Nice front and rear 4 link suspionsion and built a versatile truck in every offroad condition
I love mine but the drawers are too shallow
Just got my daughter a 77 k20, this will be the first upgrade no doubt. Thank you for the detailed videos!!
Wiring harnesses ARE labeled. Thats why they use multi colord wires. I would rather follow a blue wire instead of having to twist & get a light on a label & get my eyes in a good position to view the label as the angle is weird. Go work on a Winnebago every GD wire is yellow. Oh, they all have a goofy number which makes no sense so you have to look up the wiring diagram to see what x-873-y goes to. No, give me my colors. !
I’m not sure that small tubing would hold up in a roll over.
It does just fine. I have tested multiple times
@@MerricksGarage post the video evidence please
You must be new here. Go take a look around. It’s all been posted
I have a 1975 and want to do a LS swap with a 6.0 engine and 4L65 trans with a NP241C case but, how do you deal with having the old transfer case axel on the left hand side to install this the NP241C on the right hand side? no one has mention that, thanks for your answer on advance.
Holy shit Batman!!! FUCK CALIFORNIA and those democrats, Texas is where the last bit of freedom is we do what we want
Hey merick, can you please tell me what's the full description on rim and tire set up you have on the k30 blazer. Also are you gonna run the same set up as k30 blazer on this bulid???
Just found your channel, and oh brother. I've owned several square bodies through the years and now about to build my dream. Thanks for the videos and keep up the good work, I look forward to them.
Love to know what front bumper that is on the Sierra if customer I want one build for mine
