Nice job tracking down the problem.
way to stay positive, had to be frustrating as hell

Yea it was. Especially considering I figured it had to be a short or something that could be relatively easy to fix. Having a good team backing you up makes a big difference
There is no regrets and there is no lesson to learn. That is part of building the ultimate truck the more it breaks the better, and you’re pretty close to get to the point of having the unbreakable track.

I’ve been working on the burb that way a lot too recently! Ha ha
Your truck is like the space shuttle Columbia compared to mine all I have is a carburetor points distributor a brass bar that is hot from the battery a couple of fuses and a couple of autometer gauges love your channel😎😎😎😎😎

Yea I do get that but the Holley and fuel inj has never let me down like this. Plus I don’t understand carbs! Ha ha
Weren't you helping out Fred Williams once and he made a comment about British guys not being the best at wiring things in cars... Glad you got it figured out! Wiring can be quite the pain sometimes, but it teaches one patience for sure...

What’s funny is I actually love wiring and electrical. It is very logical! I got thrown under the bus in that video! It was the ground strap that wasn’t hooked up in the army truck! I wasn’t in charge of that! Ha ha

@@MerricksGarage I know brother, just giving you some crap. Always enjoy your videos and honesty because we all have our moments, but I'm just glad I don't document mine- that'd be decades worth of content..🤟🤟🤟
You can usually use your nose to find a short that bad. I bet when your truck first shut down the smell of burning wire could have been smelled when the hood was opened. At that point if nothing obvious can be seen in the engine compartment, then start looking at things under the vehicle like starter wires and that kind of thing.

There is very little residue indicating crazy high amperage. There is plenty of abrasion, the split wires etc. I think it wore through and shorted
Man, you really work that suspension. 😊

That’s what it’s built for! Pretty crazy the flex I get though.
Recently had a similar issue when I was in the middle of no where. It was the ground wire to my crank sensor.

I always tell everyone that 90% of electronic problems are the ground. Ha ha

Yea my bad. I went in with every intention of filming it and then just get in the zone. I am trying to get more intentional!
That ole Blazer is just plain cool!
Those gremlins can screw up a trip quick and cause some gray hairs. 🤣🤣🤣 nice diagnostic process of finding the problem 👍🏼
I had a similar issue the other day, a harness shifted and melted my fuel gauge signal wire. Only did i learn this after a pulled apart dash and new fuel gauge😂

Love the problem solving Merrick!
Good job with the fix!
Glad the ECU didn't fry.
You know if anyone has your light bar setup with baselines cargo rack? Looks like you might be able to have em both and they work together. 🤷♂️

If I knew which wire it was I would have repaired or jumped it.
