i bought my snapon box 2 years ago, i have absolutely loved every second of it, It fits everything. I have giant 1 inch drive 2 + inch sockets and oversized wrenched it fits everything. Its my proudest investment so far. Buy once cry once folks

Lmao....poor for life if you think a metal box that you put tools in is an "investment" wtf......gimmick advertising gotcha to pay 3 times what you should for metal box with drawers. Could have got equal or better quality for half the money.....but then you wouldnt have that sweet sweet snapon logo on it

A snapon 72” cabinet weighs 1000 lbs empty and has a load capacity of 6800 lbs. A husky 72” cabinet weighs 567 lbs and has a load capacity of 2400 lbs. The Husky 72 has 33,000 cubic inch storage capacity and the Snap-on has 45,000 cubic inch capacity. But sure they are the same

I started out back in 1975 and purchased a Upper and lower Mac tool box assembly. After 2-3 and filling most of the drawers it became hard to push and the drawers would slide open as smooth. Traded the Mac for a Snap on that cost me over $5,000 more. Later, added a middle section and filled this. Entire Snap on system alway opened and I could always move the entire assembly around. Drawers never sagged. I retired in 2010 and still have the same boxes. Fit and finish still look great. I decided to buy a Husky long roll cabinet to store various tools, I noticed the fit and finish of the Husky doesn't compar to my old Snap on!!! Not sure if the new Snap on is built the same way. I'm 75 now and still my own work on our Jeeps. One thing I can say is the Harbor Freight Daytona floor jacks I just bought are made great and work as good as my friends $1000 Snap on Jack.

There are lots of harbor freight nuggets. Their jacks have never disappointed. I have quite a few of them and they continue to kick ass!

My Snap On distributor is great. I have a roll cart that I bought second hand and when I needed replacement caster’s I priced them out and they were under warranty free of charge. You definitely get what you pay for.

There's nothing wrong with Milwaukee, husky, us general etc. I've seen quite a few people use them professionally with no problems. The value of a high end box is layout. Like you said the variety of drawer sizes can greatly increase productivity. Also if you only have one bay to keep your tools you're going to need the depth so you can use it as a work surface and still have room for your cart, oil drain, trash can and whatever else

I do agree with snap on quality. Hands down they make the best tools. However my tool box doesn't make me money. Its just a box at the end of the day.

I am a heavy diesel tech and currently ordering a new custom Matco full size 6S with hutch and the prices if you paid retail with no discounts or trade in are staggering. if you are just a weekend mechanic wrenching on your own stuff or doing it as a side job ect. and have the budget / itch to get a pro grade box hunt the used market, there are tons of pretty much brand new condition boxes that are a couple years old out there as there are constantly guys leaving the field so you can pick them up for a steal compared to new. however unless you are going to pick up the box in person you might have to watch out on shipping cost as these boxes are very heavily built and a full size roll cab with no add ons (lockers, top chest, ect.) can be in the neighborhood of 1000lbs with no tools in them, also get insurance on your shipment because even with the new boxes pretty much all my tool reps complain that damage in transit is not that uncommon.

With the truck boxes (snapon Matco etc) usually best to find the guy in your area and buy from him or her. They work the best deals too

I have a snap on in Kawasaki green. Love it despite its price. You get what you pay for.

I have a 20 year old Matco (comparable to a Snap-on) and it still works hard in my shop everyday, the box store toolboxes will not last that long. On the end of the day you get what you pay for in quality, drawer lay out and so on ... you charge more to build a truck then a shade tree mechanic, same difference. Like to see the new shop

As a mechanic for over 20 years, i can confidently say that the best tools that I have and used is Hazet. To me, nothing comes close to it.

My only and biggest pep peeve with my snap on epiq 68 inch or rather all snap on boxes for that matter is the lack of soft close drawers. I loved my soft close drawers on my last Milwaukee box! I hate having to essentially slam my drawers shut so they close all the way. My kitchen cabinets and drawers are soft close for crying out loud lol

I have a snap on box that I bought used for $3k. I also have a US General box that is similar in size that cost $400. They both hold tools the same.

I watched your shop tour and was thinking, is the snap on really that much better than the milwaukee. Then this video popped up. I have been thinking about getting the bigger milwaukee, i have the smaller one now.

Awesome video. I just want to say your biggest gripe with the husky vs Milwaukee was depth. Otherwise the husky seems to make alot more sense especially considering the price. 99% of consumer/prosumer tool boxes were 18". Up until around 2018/2019 when harbor freights US general became 22" deep. Then the market evolved to match What i am saying is i think to anyone watching this today. The husky is a better buy than the Milwaukee. Us general is still the best value new box you can get though. Spanks most in its price range. I am a big advocate for used tool truck boxes though. I thibk i have 15k in toolboxes I gave $1700 for.

Any box is cool when it’s stationary. You see the difference when it’s time to change shops! That’s what you’re paying for with a professional box, durability to the stress of holding weight while being transported.

Well, as long as you don't move 40 times in your life, you could buy a new husky tool box every time you move, lol.

I'm still using a few of the "craftsman single stacker" as you said... The bottom sections have fairly deep drawers for the most part. It's hard to beat fbMp too... because I've picked up a couple different boxes that were totally packed full of tools; and the g-pa just wanted it out of his garage (for forty bucks). You just can't beat a deal like that. The Snap-boxes are good boxes, but their prices are just comically off the charts IMO. I'm actually shocked at how many people they have convinced to buy their stuff. It's marketing genius

Not when you need one have all your stuff in one box, have it stable, tamper proof, and able to be picked up and moved with a call to aaa. You won’t find a box from G-pa that’s big enough to hold everything a full time wrench needs

I prefer the husky boxes. Even if they break, I can get like 10 of them for the price of the snap. Maybe less quality, but I'm good for the money 💰

Look at this way most of us try to do the best job we can and give the best quality we can and that justifies our labor rate. We want to make good money for good work. No different in a toolbox or tools we need to support each other with quality work. Thats why i buy quality tools and toolboxes. As a apprentice. It's ok to buy some of the cheap stuff and work your way up to professional tools when you become a professional

I’ve had snap on an everything else, what I would say, if you got the money buy snap on, but il tell ya harbor freight is just as good I’ve had big tools harbor freight handles it just as good, with half the price

I might go with a mac tools box, our rep is great and we dont have a snap on truck that goes by the shop right now. Last two snap on guys we had were Snap on's employees, both quit their jobs after 2 months or so

Hands down Snap On has the best boxes. Well worth the money, it’s a lifetime investment

Your bottom left drawer on the snap on does not have double rails. My Husky has. It seems snap on is not really so much more of a pro box. And that for so much money more. The only thing you have more with snap on and other higher value brands is the deeper drawers, the custom colour option and the lifetime warranty. Not really sure if that really justifies the price. Treat your stuff well and you don't need warranty. I can repaint my 52' Husky the way i want to if needed but i am very happy with it as it is in the powder coated red.

I recently got the husky 72” professional box. It’s actually a really good box. In my opinion that’s an underrated box. nobody is talking about it and the only KZread video is someone shitting on it, in my opinion it doesn’t deserve any shitting. We don’t have hf in Canada but from visiting hf, it feels better than the us general line, I can’t comment on icon though.

The ones with good sales people. Honestly this husky was marked down from like $699 to $499 for Black Friday. Then it was floor model so I got another like 50-75 off and then one of the casters was loose so I haggled them for another $50. lol. I was broke but needed a toolbox?

Four times the price? lol.. You said you got the husky for four hundred. That masters series roll cab starts at sixteen grand. It's a bit more than 4x the price. I could build tool boxes from floor to ceiling down my entire wall for that much. You could literally buy 40 of those husky boxes at that price.

Biggest problem with Snap On boxes they are only worth half immediately after use. They are great , but. Save your money and buy what suits you.

Snap On has their place for High Quality and you “Get what you pay for” but how does it make sense to justify a tool box that’s over 20-30k… we have the same 3x craftsman tool boxes that get used everyday for the last 10-15 years and still last. If people just take care of their stuff. But At the end of the day it’s up to operator.

Me personally I can't justify paying 20-30k for a toolbox. I bought a classic 78 barely used for $1200. 10 years later I upgraded to a 72" master series. With trade in and discounts I paid 6k for a brand new master series with power drawer and bedliner top. I worked out of a craftsman for years before the snap on, and the snap on is by far better quality and more enjoyable to work out of.

And don't say the tool trucks make better tools because they're too many channels on KZread that prove they don't. And fyi all four of the tool trucks don't even make their own tools, they pay other companies to make them along with some no name brands in the same factory. And yes I've worked in one of these factories.

@@Modine. that is an opinion some people like good brand tools. And from my knowledge snap-on and Mac tools still make most of there tools in house. I personally like the CAT tools because our snap on guy warranties them for us. I like my snap on box would buy another if I had to but they last a life time.

The factory I worked at did make some Cornwell torque wrenches and some impact sockets and some stuff for Matco tools. (I forget what) But don't tell me the tool truck offers a far better tool because like I told MerricksGarage theirs to many channels here on KZread that proves they don't and sometimes are made in the same factory as some no name brand tools. Their only more expensive because you're paying for the convenience of the tool truck bringing them to you. You know my Husky box is now twenty five years old and serves me just like the day I picked it up from Home Depot all thoes years ago.

I have owned 2 types of husky hd boxes and looked very closely at milwaukee.....milwaukee is pure junk the husky are good on sale for starter or home. Both aren't even close to my snap on classic

As long as you don’t over load a store bought box and don’t move the box every way and every day, store ones are fine to hold tools. I bought my first box as a diesel apprentice it held my tools JUST fine for two years drawers weren’t a problem the size want a problem it stayed in one spot in my bay just fine I only spent the STUPID money on snap on because the bigger size of metal ..THATS IT because if my husky used thicker steel I would of paid for side lockers etc etc I didn’t overload my husky and I opened the drawers constantly everyday worked just fine

@@MerricksGarage yeah I admit to that the tool truck boxes tend to on average have more height or I guess the deep ness of the drawer. A lot of store boxes have a lot of slim height drawers like 2-3” . Don’t get me wrong to have one on my snap on box is nice HOW EVER the store bought boxes seems to comprise of like 70% shallow drawers and only like 2 big deep ones. But most boxes are typically 22-26 deep only a few boxes are 28-30” So I’m that regards yeah snap on or Mac have that advantage but to a lot of people the extra 10k isn’t worth it

Snap on can’t be touched, cheap people think otherwise and compare but buy what you can afford
