6000 mile, 1 week roadtrip from NY to LA to buy a truck, install an engine and drive it back!!!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Good friend of mine drove out to Cali from NY to pick up a 2003 Chevy Suburban with no engine. No problem, as he picked up an engine, transmission and computer on the way out here.
3000 miles and 36 hours later, he swaps the engine into the Suburban and with the help of his friend Chris, drives back to NY.
To say last weekend was hectic at my shop is an understatement!!!

What a fun weekend at the shop! Thanks for hosting us James as I finally said farewell to the old family truckster. Can’t wait to see it with an LBZ Sam!

When installing an engine ALWAYS replace the rear main seal and the front transmission seal.

A front 79 Ford Dana 60 and an NV4500 later, and I see this hustler on your channel. Sam is a solid character to deal with when slinging parts back and forth. Fair prices too Im not too surprised to see him here. The dude is a mover.

What are your thoughts on ramchargers vs blazers? I have a choice to purchase either and both are similar condition both 1989 models

Hey @MerricksGarage I have a 87 burb on tons 4:56s and 35s, it's a overland rig. I'm torn between a 6.0 ls and an 8.1, I won't do much towing but which motor would you do? 4l80 and 205 will finish it out, also MPG isn't a factor. Thanks.
