America runs on GREED so the mechanics are getting greedy; exactly like the medical systems guarantee you cannot get decent care for a fair dollar. Actually, I get around this issue on big jobs like a bad transmission or a cylinder head job - I take the car to MEXICO and labor rates are 1/4 of what they charge here and, also, my mechanic in Mexico is well aware of all the tricks mechanics use in the USA like using time studies and doubling the price of parts for customers, etc.

@@bernardd.partridge3152 They say the "07's don't have AFM. Let me know if you know when they added that feature. I usually look at the GMC Tahoe or Suburbans. I could get one, but my "01 is still reliable and adequate.
Thank you Scotty for showing your opinion and information about the 3rd Generation Tahoes (07'-14'). Been saw your vids about the 2nd gen Tahoes (00'-06') I always wondered what you thought about the 2007-2014 models since you talked about the 4th generation (2015-2020) are not very reliable suvs, but finally you made one about 3rd generation. Always a pleasure seeing your vids and info keep it up and again thank you. Much love for ya Scotty!💯

I have the same Tahoe without 4 wheel drive just 2 wheel with 83,000 miles. And it's like brand new. I'm the 2nd owner. I got it from a 90 year old man. Never had a cigarette in it. Time capsule. I'm so jazzed about it. I payed $3500
Saw that scotty was ranked 2nd as a youtuber mechanic in the U.S and cris fix is number 1 SCOTTY NEEDS TO BE NUMBER 1
Glad to see Scotty finally endorse a Tahoe. I have been running our 4 wheel drive 2012 for over 7 years now without any issues. It has 124k miles on the 5.3 cu in. It has no rust, no sunroof, and I have no interest in ever replacing it with a newer one. BTW, my wife drives her dad's 06 Camry, also a great car. I do the oil changes on all our vehicles, 2012 Tahoe, 2007 Camry and my much loved 1996 Ford F150 in-line 6.
I own a 07 Tahoe that I bought in 06 and today it has 111,570 miles. The only thing I'ved changed is the wear n tear things. Engine is smooth not loud at all...still running great! The dealer keeps wanting to buy it from me. I'm in Cali.

What’s your opinion on the 5.3? Does it waste a lot of gas or does it save a lot considering it’s a v8?
In 2016 I purchased a 2010 Tahoe LTZ 4*4 from a local dealer. I do all my own work, except auto transmissions.... I have done minor changes, TPS, alternator, brakes, shocks, headlights, driver's lower seat and foam. I have put on 120k miles, now at 190k. This Tahoe runs great, looks great. A new engine or transmission from an overpriced dealer is still a small fraction of a new Tahoe..... This SUV is a long term keeper.
My 2002 Escalade still looks and runs good. 👍🏽
I've got a 2004 chevy tahoe 5.3 4x4 with 301k miles on it. Original engine and transmission. Very well maintained. I'm currently getting 19.3 mpg. I plan on keeping it forever hopefully.

My parents had an 07 tahoe, my mom gets sas every time we talk about suvs now. She really loved that tahoe
I disabled the AFM/DOD on all of mine. I have a few 07-14 Tahoes. They all have well over 175K miles and 10K engine hours. Very few issues between them all. A radiator here, an oil pressure sensor there, shocks, an AC blower motor in one, but really minor stuff. I think maybe $2K max total in repairs in any one of them. For 10-15 year old trucks I have been very happy. My favorite vehicles.

Did you have the afm/dod disabled via tune, or did you have the cam and lifters changed? I’m thinking about buying one
Pretty sure Scottie has the most fun looking for images to show on his videos the most
I love these live videos! On regular cars that regular people buy!😄😄
I Have a 2011 Chevy Avalanche with 114,000 miles and love it. Never no issues runs like new. I plan to keep it for ever until its considered a classic. Will put a new engine transmission when they wear down. The only thing I hate about these GM vehicles is the flimsy dashboards that crack and dry out out. I ended up putting a dash skin cover on my avalanche. Looks like oem and new and better cheaper alternative of replacing the whole dashboard. Surprised that Tahoe in video does not have no cracks.
I didn’t forget to spank that like button Appreciate y’all Scotty all day long. Yahoo
What's ironic is 2007 is the first year of AFM on the 5.3 which is when all the engine problems started. Prior to that the Tahoe Yukons and Escalades were rock-solid

Thank you for arming us against crooks. The one vehicle I ordered option by option was a '79 Chevy cargo van with a 350, long wheelbase, rear heater large fuel tank, heavy duty brakes, battery, radiator, oil and transmission coolers. I ordered it with the lowest ratio rear available for fuel economy, since I was buying it for talks I gave with reptiles rather than for heavy loads or towing. I got manual windows and doors locks so there was less to go wrong and optional sway bar for better control in corners. It was a great vehicle.
I've been a GM fan for quite some time. I have owned several of their vehicles and each one has been solid.

I have a 2012 Tahoe Z71 in Massachusetts. It has all the features, retractable side steps, leathers, navigation, camera, 130K miles, plus a sweet DVD system. Runs great. Thinking of selling tho. But after this, maybe I'll keep it... Maybe
Have a 3 2003 suburban and they are extremely reliable high mileage runs like brand new
Been watching your videos for ages, Scotty, and this one's a top contender. Great to see you're still having fun making them!
I picked up a 2007 Tahoe that has 2014 Escalade interior and the 6.2L. Wow, I am loving it. Great video
I recently got a Suburban Z71 2004 and it drives great and 6 feet and even fit fine in the third row seats. Also, it feels very solid. I have seen some with almost 400k miles, and mine is 201k miles. If it gets up to 300k miles, I would be happy with it
I'm the 2nd owner of a 2008 K2500 suburban. 6.0 Eng is excellent. I'm pushing 258k miles and she still runs great! My family has grown so large that we are upping ourselves to a van, I'm looking at a 2017 Chevy 2500 because it still has the 6.0L eng and 6speed xmsn that I know and trust. It also will pull my trailer as needed, not to many large family vehicles out there that can carry a big group and tow.
I operate a 06’ GMC Savana work van. It has 230,000 miles on it and runs great, even with the shop owner ignoring oil changes, like 25,000 miles overdue. Before current truck I drove a 03’ GMC extended cab pick up that racked up 240,000 and never had a single repair done other that belt tensioner and a water pump and brakes. Personally own a 16 Sierra 4 door and love it.
I have a 2007 tahoe ltz, 256,000 loaded interior. Absolutely love it looking for another cant explain how much I love this car, built tough 4 low, never got stuck up in southwestern Pennsylvania in the boonies. Hard to get stuck such a well built vehicle.
My favorite part about this whole video is that I'm was extremely curious if my lifted tahoe would even last... this gives me hope.
I am a firm believer of getting your routine maintenance. Good video.
I would definitely buy a chevy Tahoe like these. Always liked this gen.
Scotty tells it like it is,no matter what. He is a breath of fresh air!
Hey Scotty been watching you for a couple years now hope you are having a good day -From Ca LA!
I have a 2013 Tahoe RWD with @ 145,000 and the heavy duty tow package. It runs spectacularly, especially after I bought a DiabloSport Tuner to deactivate AFM and install the economy 87 octane tune. That tune gives a much, MUCH better throttle response and the truck is no longer sluggish during acceleration. Also, I no longer worry about an AFM lifter collapsing and destroying the engine... a $4000-5000 repair.
my dad has a 2010 tahoe. and its a amazing truck. reliable, comfortable, and good amount of space
Thank you for validating my old Chevy SUV! Canadian winters are tough
This is like my situation. Same year, different trim and the Tahoe was given to me by my dad. Pretty cool car and drives very good for being at 223,000+ miles.
Love my 2004 tahoe z71 it as 220 000 miles all original and looks pretty good for a truck that drive up in Canada. Built right back in the days.

Grab the Avy. It's actually bigger cab wise and it's a great stealth camper. Make sure your bed covers don't leak!
Wife had an 08 tahoe. Pretty decent vehicle. All it needed was the oil sender at the back of the intake manifold and an idler pulley because it made that squealing sound they all make but she didn't like it. That's all i ever had to do to it until she hydroplaned and totalled it. Now she has a 2013, I've done brakes on it and aside from fluid changes nothing else. They're pretty reliable.
I drive 2012 Tahoe. I am from Europe where these vehicles have a bad reputation. I love it. Bought it second hand, it was cheap, it is comfortable, everything fits in. Build in Arlington, Tx! What I like about it is the simple technology and the huge support information you can find on youtube. Any problem? You will find a helpful video helping to fix it. I do maintenance myself (very easy), also small repairs and only take it into an independent mechanic (sorry Scotty) when something is that requires special tools or skills. I have 123 000 miles on it, 100 000 are from me. Only larger problem I had was wheel bearings and brake calipers. Parts are cheap and I can order them online from the US.
