This period becomes even more interesting when you actually consider the in-universe historical context. The Vong wouldn't have been able to last even a few months had they invaded in prior eras of the timeline, especially during the dark times (Nom Anor stated the Empire would have instantly anihilated them with basically no effort in the "Traitor" novel). That's largely why they waited all those years since arriving at the fringes of the SW Galaxy (other reason being their own preparations of course). The 2 decades of chaos throughout the Galactic Civil War and the young and fragile nature of the New Republic was what truly gave them an opening afyerwards. So the Vong War is actually part of the costs that the Galaxy had to pay for ending Sidious' reign. It was probably still worth it, considering what Palps planned to do after crushing the Rebels.

The Yuuzhan Vong, Fel Empire, and One Sith are my favorite factions. Imagine if BioWare had done a SWTOR style game set during the Yuuzhan Vong War or the Legacy era before the Disney buy-out. Also, coincidentally, Yuuzhan sounds like an English pronunciation of 遇战 (Yùzhàn), which can be translated as "Encounter Warfare".
Does anybody else feels that the Yuuzhan Vong invasion feels inspired by the Mongol invasion of Europa?

There isn't any official or fan made artwork for the devastation of Ithor so I figured the closest I could get was the Exterminatus of Typhon Primaris and just carefully cut out the Inquisition fleet

Love your videos dude been looking forward to this era being covered. The fact the sequels reset everything to the status quo of the OT with no real new jedi order or republic while not completely baffling was just so inherently cynical and uninteresting compared to Legends which much better portrays I think an actively changing and alive Star Wars galaxy.

Why not? He's a mid character anyway. All he does is fix the falcon, banter with Han and sometimes threatens to kill C3PO. He doesn't even speak basic so other people have to translate what he's saying basically.
He had a good death. I didn't complain. Same for Anakin Solo. Personally I'm all for the George R.R Martin approach, never keeping artificial plot armor. ROTJ wpuld have been far better had Han or at least Lando died at Endor.

It was not random, man. They first wanted to kill Luke Skywalker, but George Lucas stated that they cannot kill Luke, nor Leia, and specially the droids, C3PO and R2-D2, so they needed to decide between Han Solo and Chewbacca. Because they don't want to kill Han Solo and because Chewbacca was always a hard character to use in books, they thought that the better choice was to kill him, what George approved in the end.
The New Jedi Order is probably the best Star Wars story, a tv show about it between 2004 and 2007 would had been perfect, age appropiate to the actors

The Vong are a very fascinating species. I admit I always had a thing for Spartan like societies. I think the story after the Vong went somewhat downhill. They should have merged Abeloth and Caedus' storyline. I think it would have done wonders.
Now their Putting an Abeloth Cameo in Ahsoka Season 2, so they'll hype her as the Next Big Bad in the Rey Movie.

Quick question, and sorry if it's not related to this video, specifically. If Dooku had Revan and Meetra as historical role models to follow, do you think even if he fell, maybe he'd have resisted Sidious' influence more ? Doing his own thing more ? Could have perhaps changed a lot of things. In my fic, Revan and Meetra follow their own path of absolute neutrality, instead of rebuilding the Jedi or taking over the Sith. They do what I like to call the "proto-Separatist" movement, as they use the Rakata and their government as part of their funding for their new order.

You're very hypocritical to lement George Lucas bringing back Darth Maul in the show, but then include Resurrection in your lore video 😂
He didn't fully return in flesh tho and that's just a little story easy to ignore (it's even Secondary canon in the EU). His key problem was that TCW made him a major player in the clone wars, whereas the og timeline had him ansent completely.

@@JabamiLain 1. Because rebuilding a Jedi Order's demands time and resources, and train new jedi to become Jedi Knights and Jedi Masters took years and years to be accomplished. And, to be fair, Luke starts his journey almost alone for a couple of years, he just became master in 10 ABY and starts his crusade to build a jedi academy in 11 ABY to 12 ABY. But just the Jedi Academy was not enough to declare it as Jedi Order, he needs a Council, composed by formed masters, and again this demands time and resources; 2. I've probably wand every single EU (aka Legends) era possible! Especially Old Republic ones: Tales of the Jedi, Knights of the Old Republic and The Old Republic; with characters like Nomi Sunrider, Ulic Qel Droma, Oss Willum, Exar Kun, Bastila Shan, Darth Revan, Darth Malak, Kreia, Darth Nihilus, Darth Sion, the Exile, Atton, Satelle Shan, Darth Malgus, Volkorion, etc. and the post Return of the Jedi eras, in particular the New Jedi Order, with Luke Skywalker, Mara Jade Skywalker, Kyle Katarn, Jaden Korr, Jaina Solo, Ben Skywalker, Kyp Durron, Kam Salusar, Corran Horn, Kirana Ti, Tenel Ka Djo, etc.
I remember starting to watch the timeline videos during my first college semester, and now I'm about to begin my last. It's nearly done and I look forward to the last episode.
