's apprentice who was his dead little brother's girlfriend-widow. Poor old man also outlived at least one of his presumed multiple officially unrecognized children. Though I believe the officer who brought him to safety so he could eventually command a fleet from a damn bacta tank was believed to be a kid with a different woman. The Imperial fleet not immediately mutinying at that part was insulting. NJO pretty firmly established that the remnant was. to paraphrase an old saying about Prussia, not a State with a Military, it was a Navy with a State. And that Navy had a serious reverence for Pellaeon.

Thanks for keeping legends alive without the extra bloat of mixing it with canon. Legends is vastly superior in every way.

@@coleallen2989nah legends is really oversaturated with the dumbest or stories and battles, literally ever super star destroyer that is destroyed is because a couple main characters snuck on board and blew it up with a single bomb, then there’s the absurd stuff like the sun crusher Legends is definitely not superior in every way

3:30 the key point in this is that the Terraforming project was led by the Vong shaper Caste trying to make amends. When the GA refused to go full Bothan and genocide them after their "Gifts" turned murderous (Thanks to Sith Sabotage) THAT'S what caused the worlds to seccede "The Vong are trying to wipe us all out a second time, and you're sparing them AGAIN? No, this time we murder them all right back" was a VERY strong sentiment.

Sweet. One of my favorite Star Wars ships. Just behind it's successor/upgrade, the Imperious.

I love this Star Destroyer and it’s upgrade the Imperious. I always use them when I play the Empire. Sometimes if I want a challenge, I mod the mod so the rebels has them too

I find it very ironic that a human species that is perhaps centuries more technologically more advanced than us took another few centuries, even millennia, to realize the advantages of central line turrets and the problem of an overly exposed bridge.

Such a good video about a very interesting design. Wish we got more time in that era.

Manda-LORE 10.7K subscribers The Pellaeon-class Star Destroyer is without doubt my Number 1# all time favorite Star Destroyer design that's better armored and better arm to the teeth than the Galactic Empire's Imperial II-class Star Destroyers in my opinion.

Only 11,000 tons of cargo on a vessel *that* massive? Seems a bit miniscule considering the much smaller Foray Class Blockade Runner could carry almost 3000.

Nice but to be fair Roan was against the war but he was overruled but the Moff council

@@Manda-LORE Well at any rate he refused to have his Imperial Knights fight. So yeah. I think it’s fair to say that he was overruled as he wanted to give the Jedi a chance to investigate what went wrong with the Ossus project

Did the Bothans join with the Moff council? I mean they have their standing order to genocide all Vong, but I don't remember Ostrander actually using them.

@@DIEGhostfish Unlikely, given the galactic geography doesn't match up. Bothan space is in the Galactic southeast, while the pre-war borders of the Imperial Remnant were in the Galactic Northwest. The Bothans, also being founding members of the New Republic probably stuck with the Galactic Alliance.

@@DIEGhostfish the vong not being direct combatants in the Sith Imperial War, I don't think it would make much sense for the Bothans to wage direct war on the GA. Would they have seceded? Most definitely but their ar'krai isnt against the GA itself. My money is on them seceeding and just not aiding the GA out of spite

Bit of an unrelated question but I know you're not a TCW fan though you are something of a Traviss fan and old EU fan. How did you like No Prisoners? I think it handled Djinn Altis very very well, and his conversation with Anakin was everything the conversation Corran's grandfather had with him should have been. With the Corellian Jedi being openly schismatic like the Altisians, and Anakin being too afraid to admit to Padme

Nope. By this point in history the empire had abandoned the "bigger is better policy" and while the pellaon class is bigger than the classic star destroyers, it still fills that same combat role. The Imperious Class is a bit closer to a Super Star Destoyer which is basically a bigger pellaeon class with some other minor differences.

Super Star Destroyers can be done, but they need to have a ton of redundant shielding, warhammer 40k levels of armor if the shields fall, a ton more automated systems cutting down on crew requirements. Better protected critical systems, NO bloody conning tower, and a competent captain and a brutally well-drilled crew. All easier said than done. So the Pellaeon-class was better as it was so much more cost effective than an Executor SSD.

How you get these R rated videos on youtube I'll never know.

Any plans to do the Imperious, Ardent or Scythe?

We must say the New Galactic Empire or simply the New Empire or simply the Empire. And not the Fel Empire. You make a mistake. You use an incorrect name. You can verify on the site Star Wars Holonet.

I have no problem with it being called such. But it ceases to be The New Empire and becomes the Galactic Triumvirate.
