You do a very good job of framing the most convoluted, nonsensical era in the EU timeline in a way that makes sense and follows even a semblance of coherent timeline.

@@froqwo4851 Expanded Universe. It was the old canon before Disney bought Star Wars. They call it “Legends” now, but the OG fans still mostly call it the EU.

Well, obviously not.

An excellent video, two notes of correction however: 1) Zaarin never planned on giving the Rebellion TIE Defenders, he worked at cross purposes to them throughout his Insurrection. It was one of his Captains that attempted to defect to the Rebel Alliance with information on the trap at Endor, the Second Death Star and a captured Missile Boat that tried to give the Alliance these items and information against Zaarin's wishes, Vader tracked the captain down and he was captured. 2) Zaarin's Insurrection lasted for six months, with the Grand Admiral killed just prior to Endor, however some of his forces still remained active in the Unknown Regions(specifically the Imperial Star Destroyers Thunderer, Imperator and Predominant) and finishing them off along with dealing with Nuso Esva's threat were why Thrawn was not present at Endor. Zaarin's Insurrection had pivotal consequences far beyond his death. The Insurrection proved that an Imperial Commander in possession of forces loyal to him personally, could go rogue and set up his own satrap-as indeed most Imperials after Endor proceeded to do. Zaarin's actions stripped the Empire of advanced fighters and facilities denying the Empire the use of the TIE Avenger, Defender and Missile Boat fighters in any real numbers for the next fifteen years. This weakness would be exploited countless times by the Rebellion and later New Republic, who utilized their own advanced fighters to massacre the shieldless TIE LN and TIE IN fighters the Imperials were forced to rely on, most pivotally at Endor where Rebel fighters were the instrument of the destruction of the Death Star II, Executor and several Star Destroyers.

I admittedly don't have access to the TIE fighter games and have to rely on the small summarized accounts of the games from source books like the Essential Atlas and the Essential Guide to Warfare (then, contracting the summery even further for this overview video) but when I eventually do a video on the Zaarin Contention specifically, I will be sure to rectify these mistakes on my part.

I have one question regarding Bail Organa. The Emperor deemed him a traitor and sentenced to death. He escaped and went to...Alderan. How the hell was he able to live there for 2 damn years as if nothing happened!? He's supposed to be a rebel and officially recognised as such by the Empire! Why didn't Palpatine just arrest him there? He was IN HIS DAMN HOME all this time for whatever reason...

The force unleashed kinda screwed that up. In the previously established material, Bail remained a loyal imperial senator publicly and aided the Rebellion secretly, stepping down and having Leia take his place. Force unleashed changed that so he was taken captive right at the signing of the Corellian treaty and was slated to be executed by the emperor himself before Starkiller rescued the rebel leaders. Then he just kinda goes back to Alderaan and it's never explained why the emperor didn't put a hit out on him after.

@@Manda-LORE Yeah, it sucks. Though who knows, if the old continuity was continued they'd likely find a way to explain this somehow, but it would still not feel right.

Yeah the game totally lost me at that point. Stuff before was neat, even having the main character help form the alliance, but some rewrites were definitely needed to avoid that colossal mess to the timeline.

Best way to maaaaybe tweak it is that Palpatine decided to let Organa slip by 'unnoticed' for the years leading up to ANH so that he could remain on Alderaan when Tarkin destroyed it. His way of saying, "Sure, you can have your little rebellion. But when this weapon is complete, it will become ashes like you and your world."

Dude I have a problem with you and your channel... yes, every time I watch a Manda-lore video a strong and irresistible urge to play Empire at War Awakening of the Rebellion overcomes me. Damm gonna be installing the game again...

I'm going by novel era. NJO Is its own era, YJK is in the New Republic era which is next and the Killik trilogy + LOTF/FOTJ and the legacy comics are all in the legacy era

@@Manda-LORE Isn't the NJO era alone too short for 1 video though? Indeed a lot has happened there but there's still less to discuss than during the ROTE era and the Clone Wars for example. It's your call of course, yet I'd recommend you include the NJO into either the New Republic era or Legacy era.

Rogue 1 could have basically fit in Legends. Battle of Toprawa is the equivalent to battle of Scarif. One could even mix elements of those stories in theis headcanon.

Pretty much the same way with Mothma, Iblis, and Organa signing the Treaty of Corellia to combine their rebel movements into one united front, minus Kota and Starkiller, and of course the whole Vader instructing Starkiller to coax them into starting the rebellion thing; that part didn't happen in the pre-TFU lore. The reason why I don't take as much issue with TFU retcons vs TCW retcons is that TFU at least acknowledged and attempted to fit into the lore established before it.

@@Manda-LORE Thats why I don't mind it either but TFU is still barely canon for me. It's a great game and story but i feel it's a little over the top for no reason other than to play as an over powered badass. I also feel it diminishes Darth Vader and Palpatine too much when they are canonically the strongest apart from what Luke accomplishes.

I love Andor.

Part 9 is still being written. These last few eras are going to be looooooong. And then at the end, I'm going to redo the first 5 parts with updated narration and combine all of the videos in this series into one big one
