The Wyoming Homestead

The Wyoming Homestead

A few years ago, we made the decision to fulfill our dreams and get a small ranch in Wyoming. We are passionate about growing, producing, and harvesting as much of our own food as possible meaning we spend a lot of our time gardening, hunting, fishing, and raising our animals. Each day is a new adventure as we continue to work full-time while connecting with nature, creating amazing food, and exploring the beautiful state of Wyoming.

We can't wait to have you come along with us for the adventure!

Love,
Sam and Morgan

Does that wind wear on you. Most videos I see of your outdoor activities the wind is really strong. Especially when your parents were helping tack the landscape material down in the garden.

We woke up to two inches of snow this morning in Laramie with more on the way. Have you tried Lotus foods ramen? They have a buckwheat one that's got a mushroom broth that's so good. We just had beef and broccoli, and snow peas and I put it over those ramen and it was so good!

Instead of kebabs, you could cook each serving in a foil packet on the grill or In the oven. We call them hobo pockets. Wrap the foil tight so the juices stay inside. The food is more steamed than grilled, but delicious.

An entire week of meals in just 31 minutes??? Morgan !! How is this even scientifically possible?? I certainly understand only making enough for the two of you, but, like, what if a certain Canadian visitor came to visit, how would you feed his Canadian belly??? Lol I jest, I jest. But seriously, I could watch you rinse rice ALL day lol you rock, kiddo. All the best to you, fist bumps from up north

I also work full time from home and I struggle with getting distracted 🥴 either in my off time, I get distracted with work or during work I see laundry or something and get distracted with house stuff. That’s definitely something I need to be a little more disciplined with and get a good routine down so that I don’t feel the stress of getting everything done at the same time …because then I literally start every single task and never finish any of them 😂🤦🏽‍♀️ It’s exhausting lol Loved seeing how you manage your day 🤗🥂

Don’t worry you’re not alone some days are better than others but I find when I am getting distracted and not focused I’ll pack my stuff up and move to a coffee shop or a change of scenery where I am stuck until my work is done. The little reset has worked really well for me.

Knock me over with a feather! I, as well, cannot eat pineapple. I can’t even be in the same room with it. It’s the bromeline in it that makes me anaphylactic. Bromeline is the thing that makes it so healthy. It’s the aroma. It’s the enzyme that is an anti inflammatory, antioxidant and it’s unique to pineapple. The bromeline lingers for three days in a a house. Know how I know? Three days from pineapple being in a house I become burny itchy and feel like needles in my lungs with I breathe. 🥺 I really hope it’s not as bad for you as it is for me.

We have the same issues with wind as we use landscape cloth to grow our garlic. I'm not expecting the string idea to work, but I can say that shovelling dirt on the edge of the fabric works well. If the wind can't get under it can't lift it. We have holes melted in the fabric and we plant through that. I'll be watching this.

  • @TheWyomingHomestead
