I enjoyed vlog. I was originally being entertained by your adorable puppy wanting to get up there and grab the beet leaf that was dangling over the side of the bowl. We have two large dogs that are our area rugs. Brodie is a 7 year old white lab and Blossom is a 5 year old Irish wolfhound. We call her our little pony! 🤣 You are a really good teacher with the newbies. You took the fear out of it by explaining each aspect, while building their self confidence. Great job! I learned something new also. I never gave much thought to the rings on the jars in comparison to headspace. Thanks so much for sharing!

Some great tips in this video! I would’ve just put the water in the middle of the pot to fill, never would’ve thought that filling the jars first would matter. Glad to see someone else who plays Twister when cooking & trying to move around a snoozing dog 😂

The beats turned out so pretty. I’ve never seen whiteish beets before and these are beautiful. Thank you for this video. The carrot cake bars look so good. I would love to get the recipe. I like nuts , coconut and pineapple in carrot cake or just plain lol.

Thanq for the video My daughter & her husband have a collie-lab that's 14 years old & not very well Plus a 4 year old lab that's greedy, so for Xmas I give them a bag of fresh carrots each as a gift, they both love them & there good for the coli-lab.

What an amazing job explaining the canning process I’ve been canning for a while and actually didn’t know that the jars lines were exact measurements as well so even this old dog learned something….your beets look absolutely delicious and beautiful I think you said in the video but what type do you grow I grow the Detroit and they’re deep dark red but I’m not sure how other’s taste compared to the dark red ones? Again awesome job and thank you for teaching me at 56 something I didn’t know😉💜

That makes me so happy to hear, thank you so much for your kind and supportive words! We grow the Chioggia beets from MI gardener and they are wonderful, the flavor is a bit more mild in my opinion than the dark red beets and they don’t stain which in my eyes is a win! 😊

I’ve done that pickled beet recipe twice, was short on brine the first time, increased the amount the next time and was still short. I was so curious if it would happen to you. Glad it didn’t, but now I’m wondering what I’m doing wrong! Lol. Really enjoying these videos. ❤️

Thank you so much for being here Angie! Doubling the brine was almost perfect for me with a little left over and I find that to usually be the case I am sure you are doing it perfectly fine just cutting your veggies larger will lead to needing more brine usually since the little nooks and crannies of the jar aren’t being filled so it will require more brine. You are doing awesome, I am sure! 😊

Much easier to peel the cooked beets if you do put them into a pan of cold water. . Then you can just slip the skins off along with the root and the leaf end.
