Good video thnx for sharing keep it up thnx
Have you guys recently heard a guy yelling "cheesebait" from the truck while passing the dam on the highway? If so, that was me. Sorry, not sorry. 😅 Nice fish!!! Gotta love ol' Detroit!
I didn’t get to go last week but is it 1:30 hours from Tigard?
Yes! 👍
My dad and boy went up there today when I was at work , he was looking for you
@@mattstainbrook8685 Just missed us!
What month was this? We're thinking about going out to Hagg tommorow, but still deciding if we should go on shore or take the boat. Any suggestions?
@@lizav2296 This video was from a few years ago in early June. I would always recommend taking the boat just to easily cover more water. But you can do the same on shore. Start at the Dam on either side and then check out other spots. You can't go wrong either way
What do you call that net?
@@AlbertoKempis We normally use an old crab ring but this one is just a crab ring off of Amazon for under $40.
@@northwestweekenders Thank you.

Average trout guys not fat or big
@@user-ju8yo7rt2w I realize they have put in thousands of these trophy sized Trout, so although they may be "average" for this body of water, they are still fat/big in my opinion. Lots of people who don't fish often or who have never fished this body of water are very surprised and happy when they hook into one of these. For years, it was just legal stockings so having only trophy plantings now is very unique and a great opportunity. That's who these videos are for.
Those were some really nice fish! Great job. Thanks much for sharing your video.
@@michaelmcdonald6727 Thanks Michael!
I just went to Faraday lake it was too hot so no fish…
@@BenTieuGolf It happens. The heat and increasing water temperatures can quickly shut off a bite. Good luck! 🎣
Caught my limit all were 16 or better last week
@@robertward854 nice! 🎣 The fishing has been incredible the last few weeks. Good luck out there!
You guys gonna be mad if I bring the grandkids for the day???

Did they just stock it?
@@user-gt2sg2yq9c The last stocking of the year was in late June. There were several stockings over the last month and a half or so.
new gen fishing vid dropping tomorrow at 9 on my channel, dont miss it! sweet vid
Mini Tarpon!
Looks very nice can’t wait to.
So much fun!
6 inches is huge according to a crabber! 🤣
Many of those were much larger than 6 inches!
Im on my way to the Dam now from watching your great video 😅
Wow! We appreciate it. Good luck. Let me know how you do!
How many inches from your bobber to your hook?
8-12 feet is the range we stick with normally. Occasionally we'll do 5-6 feet or up to 15 feet.
Okay and also what setup do you use with the swivel weight and beads was that a bead above the hook too?
@@tuvs420 We do 8 lb main line with 1/2 to 1 oz weight and Mack's glow bead to a swivel, 3-5 feet of 6 lb test Flourocarbon leader to a small single hook. 💰
On the hook I have been running a Power Egg up above the eye and then a nightcrawler.
Went to Detroit Lake yesterday… got absolutely SKUNKED 😂
Where did you fish?
I would recommend a barber and some green power bait
Last time I went to the dam in Detroit we caught 10 fish
Check out our most recent video 😎
Nice!! Bobber is a lot of fun.
Great stuff. I just spent 2 days camping at the lake. Fishing was a bit slow for me but I got fish so I can’t complain
Love the attitude! You're right, can't complain about being out there, let alone catching some fish. We're really wanting to go camping out there this summer.
It was nice catching fish after I had a bad trip before hooking my leg ugh I’m still bruised from it. Never again
I saw a short of your hook removal but can't find it anymore. That made me cringe because I've buried a hook in my finger before and I could feel it all over again 😂 Pretty rough place to get hooked. Hope it heals up quickly!
@@northwestweekenders weird it should be up I will look. My latest video is the one on when I hooked myself.
@@fightthefishpnw5455 oh ok! I must have just missed it when I went back to watch again
That was some great fish!! Thanks for sharing.
Appreciate it!
Where is Hoover Rock located at?
Hoover Campground off Blowout road on the furthest East part of the lake.
Nice catch at the Detroit lake dam. You guys get some nice fish out of there! Thanks much for sharing.
Appreciate it very much, Michael!
Nice bro gotta travel for trout now get em Daniel fish on brah and tell the baby I said what’s sup lil boi
Will do! We appreciate the love!
@@northwestweekenders as always brah
Nice video. Thanks, for making, and taking time to share. How long of rope do you need hooked up to basket to pull fish up? Thank you
Right now only about 30 feet or so. I run 100 feet so I can fish it other times of the year without changing rope out.
During Winter and early Spring you'll need 100-200 or more to get down to the water and we'll try it out this year and early next year 😁🤙
Nice work. I was just there Monday with my wife caught our limit in like 3 hours with bobbers that is so much fun. All big like that too.
Such a rush! It's about the average sized fish in the lake nowadays with their generous stockings and quality sized fish. Beautiful pink meat too.
Worm bait?
We used Berkley mice tails in various colors and an assortment of Power Eggs and dough PowerBait.
How's the homeless population there? I know it used to be really bad there.
It's much better than it used to be as they cleaned it up and police it often. Still isn't great but I feel safe out there, especially when there are lots of fishermen around.
Awesome video guys stay fishy Redmond OREGON tight lines
🎣🤙 Thanks!

you kids rock-AGAIN-crab bait galore-wondering if shad could be home made kipper snacks???-keep going outdoors and posting
Thanks Jim! I'm sure they could be homemade kipper snacks. I know people prepare them and eat them many different ways. For us, they are just best used trading in for Dungeness Crab 🦀 😁
Shad-tastic!!
We are Shaddicted!
Nice day of catching! Best fishing ever. The crab pots will be full this year. Thanks much for sharing your video.
We're hoping so! We have so much crab bait, it's silly. About 3x what we had in the freezer last year. 😁
Absolutely awesome ! You two definitely have the touch and know what your doing . The people around you are like what the heck are those two using ! Great job and video
Wow! Thanks for the kind words. It's all about just finding a pattern each trip and not letting it go. Seems like it's different each day depending on the water level, current, temperature, how many people are in a certain spot. It can be tricky when it's combat fishing.
I have fished for shad my whole life it never gets old.
I hear you! This is only our third season fishing for them and we can't get enough.
What do you do with all the fish you catch? I watched you catch 70 shad one time.
Shad is excellent crab bait. We run big pots and lots of gear, so we load the bait boxes with cut up shad and hang some whole ones with bait rings as well. The trout we mostly give away to family and friends but also use as a filler for crab bait! We currently have 3 full freezers of bait for the season!
Wow that’s amazing. What kind of setup are you using? Never been shad fishing but this is just crazy .
It's so much fun, especially on light tackle. Carolina rig with 3/4 to 1 oz weight and a shad dart of choice. 8 lb main line and 8-10 lb Fluorocarbon leader. 6 foot to 6'6 ugly stik.
@@northwestweekenders hey thanks for answering my questions. I’m going to try to get rigged up and try shad fishing ! Tight lines
@@billquesenberry3626 The run is still going strong over 100 k per day so should still be producing fish. I've learned that the later it gets into the run, the fish tend to be less on the bite and more focused on getting from point A to point B. Nonetheless, the last few years we've gone in late June and early July and still put up solid numbers. Good luck out there!
@@northwestweekendersthank you for the information . If watching your video doesn’t give you the bug to get out and try this then your not breathing.
