You kids rock-reminds me of my wife and i 40 years ago-we used to crab at alsea bay-we stayed at blanchards cabins near waldport-the first time we ever crabbed we rented a boat with 3 rings 3 baits for 3 hours for $20-we got 8 keepers-beautiful family-keep doing what you're doing-God Bless

That's cool! It has probably been a couple decades since I stayed there as a kid. We've rented boats from them in the past but not in the last 10 years or so. it was a pretty fun experience and I can imagine during the good grabbing season it would be a lot more productive.

You know we'd love to. We're craving a weekend or at least a full day of going hard with crabbing, and fishing. We just happened to crab a little on our trip, but nothing serious at all.

I go there all the time if you're towards the other end of the dock you will have a really good chance of good crab

I agree you have more luck towards the other side, however, it really depends on the tide and morsels are available for them. Lol.

Truly enjoy watching you guys!! Hopefully we can run into you guys sometime while we are there. Good job out there on getting a few crab to enjoy together.

Thank you so much! We've been meaning to get together with other channels and get to know each other and make some content. I'm hoping to get GoatinAround, FighTheFish PNW, SuperiorGeminis and others together at some point, so would love to connect. Our struggle right now is time so we just need to book something a ways out and put it on the calendar. Do you go to the Embarcadero often or do you mean just Newport in general?

@@northwestweekenders that would be so much fun!! I agree let’s get some folks together we have stayed at embarcadaro couple times but we are usually in the bay crabbing in our boat! Is where we go! Y’all are more than welcome to always join us.

As you know, I’m there often you do realize you can soak your crab traps overnight .. but don’t tell anyone lol😅.. oops finish watching your video and saw that you did that… But I do wanna give you advice about the trout. They are not oily. If you soak them in vegetable oil overnight before you put them in the traps, you will have better results.

Thanks for the advice. We appreciate it. Never thought of vegetable oil before. We usually marinate them in Pro Cure crab and shrimp attractant oil but didn't get around to it this time unfortunately.

@@northwestweekenders that’s good stuff too. Add a little bit of oil to that with that and see if you notice a difference.

@@BarbieNOregon Will do. Once crabbing picks up we'll have some different style videos and maybe we'll do one specifically on chicken marinated in vegetable oil vs unmarinated chicken and other comparison/vs videos.

What time does that dock close at night?

11 pm unfortunately. Hours are 7:30-11 but have found that maintenance usually opens up around 7:15 am.

@@howzit9397 You have to be staying at the Embarcadero to be allowed to crab it. The public can't access it or at least are not supposed to.
