Dungeness Crab (Massive) Catch and Cook at the Jetty Fishery on Nehalem Bay!! I Honoring a Legend!
Ойын-сауық
This is by far the most special video we've made to date. We went to the Jetty Fishery on Nehalem Bay in Rockaway Beach, Oregon in search of some Dungeness Crab to honor Kailey's late Grandfather (Bampa) who just passed away earlier this December. We ended up catching eighteen (18) massive and beautiful crab and definitely feel like he was watching over us. It was an emotional trip that ended with us getting our crab cooked at the Jetty Fishery and enjoying the two (2) biggest crab of the day by the water as we shared memories and stories of our legend, Bampa.
We then distributed the crab to family who also had the chance to share Bampa's favorite meal together, in his memory.
We love you Bampa!
Rest in Paradise!
Come along and enjoy this journey with us.
Thank you for watching! We hope you enjoy the video.
We do not own the music in the video.

Wow - thank you for sharing your amazing memories of your grandfather! Love your videos and learning lots of your Oregon roots of crabbing in our own crabbing lifestyle in Newport.
Bless you both for honoring such a special man

Yea I heard the water was like chocolate milk and muddy and the crab left town. Thankful it was so nice when we went. Heading back out soon before this rain ruins things again 🦀
Great video. I'm heading over there tomorrow. Have always done well there. Looks like you had rings on both the north and south sides of the dock. Was one side better than the other for you and/or others? I seem to do better on the north side.

We've always done better on the South side but I know people swear by the North side. This day we only caught probably 5 on the North side and 13 on the South but people had a dozen and like 15-16 on that South side.

Could you please tell me what where to get that slip ring?????😮

They are "Protoco" brand slip rings. We got ours on a crazy good deal off of Facebook Marketplace. The easiest and cheapest way to get them would probably be Amazon. You can also find them at Englund Marine or directly from their website "protoco.com"
what are their rates for just using their dock and using your own traps?

On weekdays it's $18 for the first ring and $13 for each one after and weekends it's $23 for the first one and $18 for each one after. It's the same price whether you use their rings or your own. It comes with rockfish for bait and they also have chicken for purchase (it's expensive) but I'd bring your own. We tend to catch more on chicken then the rockfish but it's nice to use both. We were there on a Saturday and used 3 rings so it was $23+ $18 +$18= $59.00 and that allows you to crab all day or until you limit 🦀🤙
