How to Catch American Shad on the Columbia River! | Bonneville Dam Beatdown (88 SHAD IN ONE DAY!)
Ойын-сауық
This video is two trips in one. The first one we show "How to Catch Shad on the Columbia River" which includes our rigging/set-up, favorite jigs/darts, and some personal retrieval methods. Information is spread throughout, and a lot can be learned by watching the fishing footage alone. The second video is a condensed version of my (Danny's) best ever Shad fishing day, where I caught 88 Shad in one trip ("Bonneville Dam Beatdown").
Shad fishing has definitely won us over and we can't get enough of it during the season. We have more Shad content to come, and more trips planned before the run ends. Hopefully we'll see you out there!
We think this is a banger and hope you come along and enjoy!
Thanks for watching!
Stay tuned for the next adventure!
We do not own the music in the video.

Thanks for even showing the process of getting into the area/driving in! I'm super new to this all so it's good to see what to expect, like a line of cars lol! I hope to try it out soon

Wow that’s amazing. What kind of setup are you using? Never been shad fishing but this is just crazy .

It's so much fun, especially on light tackle. Carolina rig with 3/4 to 1 oz weight and a shad dart of choice. 8 lb main line and 8-10 lb Fluorocarbon leader. 6 foot to 6'6 ugly stik.

@@billquesenberry3626 The run is still going strong over 100 k per day so should still be producing fish. I've learned that the later it gets into the run, the fish tend to be less on the bite and more focused on getting from point A to point B. Nonetheless, the last few years we've gone in late June and early July and still put up solid numbers. Good luck out there!

@@walteryang2917 I'm not sure but everyone is killing it on the Oregon side right now. I've heard multiple times from Oregon anglers that on the Washington side you have to cast out a little further to find a solid bite but not sure if that's true or not. At Bradford Island people catch them far out and close to shore and everywhere in-between.
