Hi, I’m Tammie and I am a quilter with my own longarm quilting business!
Each week here on my channel, I share client quilts that I have finished on the longarm quilting machine. I share current quilt projects in my studio. And I share interesting stories from around our farmhouse.
I have been a quilter for 18 years and a professional longarm quilter for the past 11 years! I have made hundreds of quilts for my family and friends, as well as offering them for sale to the public. I live on 27 acres in rural Indiana where my husband and I have raised seven children.
In my longarm business, I have quilted hundreds of other people’s quilts including all types of quilts and projects! I specialize in digital edge to edge pantograph quilting using a Handiquilter Amara machine on a 12 foot frame.
I love helping clients choose just the right quilting design to complement their quilt top.

I have used double batting, but not diferent types. Curious about washing.
It seems to be a fairly common combination.
I really love your intro when you pan over the quilts and show the beautiful quilting. I love the Carpenter Star with the dark background (Jessica's quilt) The variegated thread is great. I also love Sharon's panel wall hanging. Maggie's quilt is stunning (color❤).
So many fun quilts this week.

A little late in seeing this, have just recently discovered your clips on Facebook. The small ironing board is a sleeve board, reverses for the size of the sleeve. Am coming back to IN in the near future, so hope to meet up with you some time. Keep the clips coming, they are inspiring me, as I have an original 16" Handi Quilter, self-propelled, used only for my own projects. Thank you.
Hi Cheryl! If I can be of help, just let me know!
Tammy, you have a beautiful family 🎉🎉
Thank you so much!
The starblock quilt edge is made from the cutoffs of the flip and sew. That is how the 2 colors from each hst is made. I have made the quilt and it is so easy and pretty quick to make.
Thanks for the information!
Do you use black batting for quilts with black background and black backing like Jessica’s quilt?
Jessica’s quilt had white batting that was provided by the client. I have used black batting but I do not carry it myself.
Loved the last quilt and the story about it. What a wonderful friend to put so much thought into a gift for her friend. ❤. I enjoy your videos. Your quilting is beautiful!
Thank you so much!
I look forward to your videos and all the beautiful quilts.
Still happily binge watching past episodes and now a new delight. Awesome talent you have with your clients. Each one is my new favourite👏👏👏
Love this! Thank you!
I love the Libs Elliott too. Binge watching to catch up! 👏👏👏👏🧵🪡👌👌
Tammie, all these quilts are stunning...thanks...best wishes ❤❤
Thank you so much!
I love the Thimbleberries quilt The colors are very warm and inviting! Perfect pantograph as well ❤
It really is!
A 3 way time for me in the quilts I love, the Golden girls, Lori Bolts Chex mix n the Scrappy Stars. All adorable !! So is your grandbaby !!
🥰
For your daughters square need to make the wedding bells
I like that idea!
The color you are thinking is beautiful but will completely blend in with the screen so l would not go with any green
All of the quilts are beautiful! I couldn’t possibly choose a favorite this wee! Thanks for sharing!❤
Thanks for watching!
Gorgeous quilts; so hard to pick a favorite with all the different kinds but I really love the first one so much. Thanks for sharing all of them. Your temperature quilt is also looking so pretty. Such pretty colors. Happy quilting.
Thanks so much!
Loved this!
🤗
Lovely quilts again! Your temperature quilt is looking great as well. I’ve in haste made so many mistakes over the years. I guess the seam ripper gets to shine once again 😂?
Yes! A well used tool!
Just stunning Tammy love Lynette's quilt with the thimbleberry Fabric's and the Pantagraph Alfalfa really sets it off. Maggie's is stunning and your Pantagraph gave so much texture. Just Gorgeous xx sending Blessings
And many blessings to you!
Thank you for another great video today. I too enjoyed the timelapse although I never doubted that the whole process would be very time-consuming. My most favourite thing of all though was the picture of grandma with her new baby girl. Beautiful.
I could hug her all day!!
Love your videos, informative, educational, friendly, feel like I am a guest in ur home. You provide a great service. I have learned a lot from watching you... I have a long arm, trying to learn how to free motion and do pantagraphs with a 26 inch gammill 14 ft table. Am a new quilter. Senior semi retired, recovering from breast cancer. Thank you for all your hard work and effort you put into your videos.
Many blessings to you Karen. Praying for a full recovery and many lovely quilts finished on that longarm!
Thanks so much for sharing these beautiful quilts and your amazing process of quilting thru each one Tammie💕🧵 Congrats to your 2 daughters getting married and to your growing family! THATS what life is all about♥️🎉🎉🎉🎉🙏🏻
Thank you so much!
I like 4 at a time flying geese units unless I am using directional fabrics.
Great info!
Thanks for all the info you have shared about thread color. I have learned much! Beautiful quilting.
You are so welcome!
Love the ultimate flying geese ruler. Makes perfect geese. All instructions on ruler for 4 at a time
Thanks for the information! I’ll have to check that out!
Another fabulous video Tammie! Thanks for sharing your talents and the quilts you’ve had the pleasure to long arm. I have used the Wing Clipper tool by Deb Tucker of Studio 180 Design for so many years I cannot imagine going back. It is a “4 at a time” method, but with slightly oversized pieces you are able to trim with the Wing Clipper tool for accuracy every time. No noses or wings cut off for me! 😉
That is great information!
Just add the leaf on top next to the fruit
👍🏻
So so beautiful. I REALLY miss your Flosstube videos. Do you still cross stitch?
Yes. But not as regular as I used to be. I miss it so much!!
Cute baby quil. All th3 quit s are nce. Love the baby girl at the end!❤️❤️
😁
My first patchwork was a bag with flying geese on front. It was no waste I had no idea what it was about. Since then I have always used it. I have found it difficult to keep straight and was happy to square them up. Sheer luck earlier today I watched the lovely Lisa Bongean and Alysha from Primitive Gatherings . They were doing flying geese with precision and no need to square up ! It was called weekend Quilts if anyone wants t o watch. Love from wet SWFrance ❤
Thank you for the info!
Tammie, what panto do you think is the easiest for a beginner? Since I’m back in Tennessee I have access to my mom’s longarm. She never really was able to figure it out before she got sick so I starting from the beginning.
Is it digital or handguided?
@@tammieearnestit is digital
Loved seeing all your wedding pictures...I use a watered down Best Press instead of steam...use any type of flying geese method depending on the number needed...best wishes!
Great tip!
I first learned the one-at-a-time method and thought that was good enough for years, although I bought Eleanor Burns’ geese rulers years ago-but didn’t use them. Then I started my present quilt and it is a beast with 64 flying geese in the border alone, and in different colors, so I pulled out my rulers, watched Kimberly on FQS about 16 times and dove in. It’s GREAT. Especially if you have a million to do! So I will keep on using this method. I also used economy block papers and square-in-square papers-in other words, every assist I could use for this quilt! One more border and it’s done! Yay! My favorite quilt this week is the Happy Stripes. What a great scrap quilt that would be! And it looks far more sophisticated than it actually is!
I love that you have tried all the methods and picked the one that was best for you! That’s a great help!
Again, beautiful quilts. The horse quilt did feel like it had a lot of movement. I liked the time lapse video. You are a busy lady. I do make 4 at a time Flying Geese using the Creative Grids Flying Geese trim tool. Congratulations to your daughter and son in law.
Thank you so much! Hope you’re doing well! ♥️
Love, love, love your videos. And the Farm Girl Vintage quilt... oh my! So fun to see all your beautiful work and to hear about your family. Thanks for taking the time to make these weekly updates.
Thank you for this encouragement!
I make the 1 at a time Flying Geese method. I've finally perfected it, comes out perfect, no trimming after. I don't mess with success!
Absolutely!!
Always enjoy your videos and family. Thank you so much for all you do and share with us. 💕
Thank you Mary Anne!
I have enjoyed watching your videos to see all the lovely quilts you are working on, as well as your projects and all about your lovely family. I’ve used my sister’s Oliso, so I can understand why you chose that one. I’m on my second Rowenta. I spent $$$ on the first and $$ on the second. The first didn’t last because I was likely not good about emptying the distilled water when I was done pressing for the day, and itstarting spitting out brown steam! I haven’t started using steam with the second… just a mist sprayer when needed, and it has been working just fine.
Great info! Thank you!
❤❤❤ the time lapse
🤗
Thank you for sharing. So glad your daughter had a beautiful wedding day. The time lapse was amazing seeing how much work was put in. ❤
Thank you so much!
Enjoy your shows. We take for granted how much prep time goes on behind the scenes, a wedding, u-t pressure to get things out, daily living, seeing your son. Life takes time. Congrats on the new son-in-law.
Thanks for understanding! ♥️
Incredible video! Loved the time lapse. Barn quilt and all the others were amazing! Sounds like the wedding was a beautiful day!
It was! Thank you so much!
I agree- you will love the Oliso iron!! I loved the wedding pictures- thank you for sharing!!!!
My pleasure!
Thank you for including that sped up time lapse! It was so informative to see what long arm quilting entails
My pleasure!
I 'happened' to see your unedited version of this week's video. I must say that we truly don't realize all the effort involved in producing weekly videos. I don't know if you or someone else does the editing but whoever does it is a master as are you in knowing when to start/stop your explanations! KUDOS to everyone involved❣️ I too love the simple elegance of Cynthia's star fabric quilt. I am going to be looking for the pattern. I love the animal crackers pantograph and the Around the World on Carol's baby quilt! Such a great idea to use that pantograph on a whole cloth quilt! I've never wanted to do a 'Jelly Roll' pattern until I saw Carol's version. So striking❣️ The 'Wave on Wave' pantograph is gorgeous too. Sandy's creativeness based on Lori Holt's barn quilt pattern book is amazing esp. with the added personalization. Thanks , Tammie for pointing out those details.
I love my Oliso and have used it with steam at times, maybe you got a dud.
I haven’t tried steam yet.
This time, I was able to see the time lapse video and I was very impressed. WOW, that looked like a busy day. I also have the Oliso iron and I LOVE it. I also have the Panasonic cordless iron and I also love it. Thank you for showing the beautiful quilts.
Thanks for sharing that you like both Oliso &the Panasonic cordless orins. I've been considering which one would work for me.
@@marshawallace7522I am not a fan of my Panasonic cordless. I do not think it holds the heat long enough for my needs.
Thanks for watching! I flubbed up the first video upload 🫣
I’m On my third one in 4 years. I did t realize the warranty until my second one went out on the heating element so I called them went thru the whole scenario of checking everything out then I sent it back and they sent me a new one. It works great
Wow!!
Don’t hse steam too often with the Oliso. I’m on my 2nd in four years and it is leaking water all over the place. I won’t buy another one. They replaced the first one for me under warranty but the same thing has happened with my second. I use steam to iron my linen clothing and when I’m making clothing as well as when I’m final pressing a quilt top so not every day. I use the water they recommend but for the price of this iron it shouldn’t leak so quickly. I love the lift aspect and the weight is great for pressing. I’m going to try something else this time and just use the Oliso without water as long as this one lives.
Great info!!
