    Hi! Tammy I have been watching your channel for a few months now and I LOVE!! Your videos, Thank you. I’m too a long arm quilter lives here in Indiana also about 20 minutes from Chicago, but I do not do Long Arming for a business just for my quilt and posible friends. However, what has drawn me to your channel is the gentleness of your Introductory and the pleasantness of your voice. It’s not like a lot of You Tubers talking soooo fast as if they are running out of time to give you the information they are trying to deliver. Which at time is frustrating to listen to them and it keeps me searching for other channels that is a bit more pleasant as your are. I love how you display the pictures of each quilt that you are going to talk about before you talk about them. Thank you so much please keep the videos coming.

I finally got my Barn Star quilted and binding sewn on the front. I don't normally hand-sew my binding on but I will on this monster. By the way, I used the Ginger Snap pantograph and love how it turned out. Thanks for showing it on some of the quilts you've done.

    I love watching your channel. I’m a new Patchwork Quilter of 2 years and trying so hard to keep learning at 70. If I could only make a quality quilt that I could afford to have quilted. I try to quilt my own projects but wish to learn Free Motion. It’s just that at my age and not artistic, it’s rather hard to train the brain. Thank you for always sharing these great tutorials which are very much appreciated.☺️💜

    You can do it! Practice drawing the same design on paper or a white board over and over and over before ever trying on the machine. 🙌

  • @kathyclayton4318
    @kathyclayton43186 ай бұрын

    I love triangle paper. I get a much better final result when I use the paper. My Half-square triangles end up exactly the right size and they are never wonky. You might find that it takes a tiny bit longer because you do have to tear off the paper when done but it is so worth it in the end. You shouldn’t have to square up once they are pressed as they should come out exactly the size you need! I love it! I will be interested to see what you say once you have tried it. You are way more experienced at this than I am but half square triangles have been a stumbling block for me. But not any more. You don’t have to measure using the ⅞” markings on your rulers either. And they come out perfect! Every single time! I love that Robert Kaufman Essex linen fabric. It sews up so beautifully! I don’t starch either but I have been using Best Press and it helps so much giving you a crisper fabric. And it is best to use the Best Press BEFORE you cut. Ask me how I know? LOL😊. Your fabric will shrink a little. I will be anxious to watch your progress on this. I wonder if that free quilting pattern from Urban Elementz is available for an embroidery machine. I am learning to do my quilting that way. It’s the whole reason I wanted an embroidery machine in the first place. I look forward to your videos each week and you never disappoint! Always interesting! Thanks for sharing your work!

  • @kathyclayton4318

    @kathyclayton4318

    6 ай бұрын

    @@tammieearnest Yes, it is possible by using patterns digitized for embroidery machine formats. I looked and the pattern you used is not available in the format I need for my embroidery machine. Urban Elementz does have a few patterns that are available and I did contact them as ask them about offering patterns for embroidery machines and was told they would be. But presently there are other places that carry digitized patterns for embroidery machines, like DBJuJu and Embroidery Library and I have several of them. It is not too bad using a magnetic snap hoop. I don’t think I would attempt a king-sized quilt but wall hangings, table runners, throws and baby quilts are do-able. I wanted an embroidery machine because I was hoping this was going to be possible and now it is. Becky Thompson (Power Tools With Thread) is the expert and has videos showing how to do it. I had tried it prior to seeing her video because I was pretty sure it would work, but I didn’t have the magnetic hoop and it was hard to hoop all of those layers using the hoops that came with my machine. The magnetic hoop is so helpful keeping it all tight. The larger the hoop, the larger the area you can “embroider” the quilting. It’s kind of addictive once you get going. It’s doesn’t take up quite so much room as a quilting machine but it is somewhat a slower process. The quilting that you do is exquisite and i love seeing your work. Keep the videos coming. It encourages us all to finish up our quilts as we see all of those that you finish! Thanks for sharing your work!

    I truly enjoy your videos! I learn so much from the way you break down each project and share what you enjoy about it. I love all fabric too! Your quilting enhances each design so well. A real partnership in creativity! Oh-you will love the plastic project boxes but you might want to air them out real good for several days before you kit up your projects. I have about 12 and still take older ones out and open the lids for a few days. I have no idea if the smell would be permanent but I like doing it. Plus, it keeps me in touch with my projects and motives me to work on quilts that I’m still looking forward to making. Thank you for all you share!

    Oh my Tammy, what a video full of fantastic quilts in so many glorious fabric lines and patterns. They are all so inspiring. I also love the Sew Sampler box this month, and I really want to make the hat quilt with Lori’s Mercantile fabrics. It looks to be so fun. I have been recuperating from RSV so I have not done any quilting this month. But watching your video has given me the push that I needed to get back to it. I have a lady who has asked me to make her a baby quilt for a baby that is due in March, so that will probably be my first project. Then my second great-grandbaby is due in May, so I have that quilt planned also. In addition, there are so many others to work on like the Pressed Flowers blocks along with a SAL that I signed up for. I am also doing a cross stitch of Jesus for my son and his wife. It is going to be so pretty and it is my cross stitch focus. Thank you so much for sharing of your time and talents via this video and your newsletters. I truly appreciate all of it. Happy quilting to you……………..

    I am looking forward to seeing what you do with your temperature quilt and the other projects/sew alongs you are doing in 2024. I like Best Press and I bought some spray bottles on-line that have an extended spray feature. I often use part water and part Best Press in the sprayer and lightly spray before cutting my fabric. When I saw the Siren pantograph, I immediately thought that it might be a good choice for quilts with cabins/houses b/c it would resemble blowing wind and/or heat coming out of chimneys. As usual all of the customer quilts are outstanding❣️ I appreciate how you point out things that I may not have noticed, Tammie, like quilt blocks with different background colors worked in with mostly lighter background. I loved that design element. I very much like the Mistletoe pantograph and the Paisley Feather pantograph on the royal blue minky stole my heart!.
