I've been sewing borders on my Sew Scrappy Spools quilt while watching today. (yes, so happy to be at this stage finally!) You shared so many beautiful quilts in this video, nice job everyone! My list of quilts to make grows when I watch your videos. I have to make my granddaughter a Minecraft quilt, and my grandson a Reindeer Xing quilt. 😊

I suggest quilters use a safety pin typically used to pin a quilt and batting sandwich, to keep information with the quilt. I use a scrap of light colored fabric and a pigma pen to tag the size to the quilt. The quilt measure is the trimmed size before binding and changes after binding. The poly-batting is also a lighter weight. So if you are handling it during home quilting it is easier on you.

Your free-motion "swiril" without backtracking is a "forgiving" design that works well for "Minkie" backed quilt.

Thank you for this show. I loved all the quilts but my favorites were Sunbonnet Sue Quilt, i always love these, Mystery Quilt, and the next I will call the 4 square fat quarter. These were all nice and I loved the patterns of the quilting you showed.

I have been sick with RSV for over a week, so having a video from you pop up was such a nice treat! I am always amazed at the differences in quilts and how I love everyone of them for different reasons. Your attention to detailed (and sharing those details with us) makes all the difference in the outcome of the quilt. I was excited to hear about the varying color ways for the Pressed Flowers patterns. I plan to get back to working on mine as soon as I feel better, but I am looking forward to seeing the final quilt for these patterns as I feel like it might be one that I would enjoy doing again. I can think of so many different ways to put it together such as William Morris fabrics, Tilda, and French General, not to mention a scrappy one would be fun to try too. So many ideas, just not enough time. I have a quilt that is ready to be picked up and I am anxious to see how it turned out. It is a log cabin style with borders. I used a pretty water color fabric for some of it along with Batiks, especially on the borders. I also chose a variegated thread for the quilting since there were so many pretty colors in the watercolor fabric. I have not done that before so I am looking forward to seeing how it looks. I love trying new ideas so it should be fun. Thanks so much for the time and effort you share with us in making these videos; it is truly appreciated. Happy quilting and stay well (I pray you don’t get RSV as it is really nasty stuff). I am 76 so it really hit me hard. See you next time…………………

Well-Nantucket Summer again. Susan’s mystery quilt is beautiful. After your November video that had 3 Nantucket quilts in it, I went looking. The ONLY fat quarter bundle I found was on sale for $600. Of course, that is way out of my range, but honestly that fabric and the quilts you’ve shown are so soothingly pretty. The Sunbonnet Sue brings back memories from childhood. We lived in the Philippines in the 1950s and Mama wanted to make a Sunbonnet Sue quilt. She explained to Daddy and somehow in the Baguio market, he found a coloring book with a Sunbonnet Sue in it and brought it home to Mama. She traced it and used it as an applique pattern. I think I still have that tracing somewhere.
