Mennonite Farmhouse

Mennonite Farmhouse

The focus of this channel is pantry cooking from scratch and food preservation. I love to can and dehydrate food that I grow and I will also be sharing recipes that I enjoy making. I will always follow and promote approved recipes and food safety handling. I have no control of any other channel's content.

I am not claiming to be an expert on any topic and I am sharing how I do things myself and I highly recommend that you research anything you see on my channel from other resources too, so you can make an informed decision for yourself.

Also, if you are interested in other products I use in my videos head on over to my Amazon Influencers site. Every purchase you make through this site doesn't cost you anything extra. But it does help my channel. Proceeds from any monies, I make with the Amazon Storefront and Spring Store will be paid forward to making Quilts for Veterans (also known as Quilts of Valor). I have also set up a Paypal account for direct donations for this effort.

I made this today and it’s yummy! I had to extend the baking time but I think that’s because I used store-bought applesauce. The store applesauce probably added more liquid to the batter. Thanks for sharing this recipe! 😋

You have a beautiful garden. Love the diferent kind of tomatoes. Would love to be your neighbor. Love your recipes and I can learn so much from you. I have a question on your apple sauce bread. I made it several times and everybody loves it. The problem is that I don’t buy crisco often. Could I replace it with either margarine or oil? Thank you.❤

I might have missed something. How much applesauce goes into the bread batter? Plus, what kind of mixer/processor do you use? I use a small handheld mixer and yours tools so efficient!

It’s 1 1/2 cup of applesauce. The recipe is included in the show notes. My mixer is old Bosch mixer that I love. I have an affiliate link for it and they are currently $100 until July 17th.

You have an amazing garden. I noticed your lemon cucs had leaf miners. What do you do to combat them? I haven't had much luck getting rid of them this year. What the spider mites don't get, the leaf miners do. :/
