You want a tile claim for lippage, do a 50% stagger. 😮😮😮😮😅😅😅
Great video. Thanks.
If dude put on lipstick, he could work for Biden Administration stealing luggage!😂😂😂😂
Great technique!
on these custom sized redi pans, do you gut the shower first then measure and wait for them?
How far away from the wall is the drain?
Very helpful thank you
What strip you recommend?
Thanks, I'm now using Rapid Set. I was thinking that perhaps the Kerdi-fix samples got water infiltration because it took longer to set up. In that case the water would have come in at the start of the submergence, whereas quicker setup products would have prevented the initial infiltration. A better approach might have been to allow the samples to all setup over maybe 24 hours and then submerge them. Perhaps they would all have come out dry?!?!?!?!
What a fucken joke
Why are you tilers always installeling these baby neesh?
Why not install the linear drain six inches away from the wall? All the struggle with drain flaps then lay on the flat. Floor to wall behind drain becomes normal too.
Great info!
Maybe an easier way would be to glue an equal-thickness strip to the stud, then straighten it by a router riding on a straight edge... Because the stud is also twisted typically. Yes, you'd have to make a custom tool for this, but shouldn't be very diificult.
Man, metric system is native for tile, because most of it is manufactured in that system. Who prevents you from using it? I petition you to use it!
Our local news said that house caught fire and 6 died.
Great video !!
It’s awesome ! Thanks coach
Do you have to back butter ?
Can you buy this product in NC?
Great work done and results are amazing. So clean and fresh. I hate our useless jacuzzi, would replace to walk-in shower, but have no experience with such job.
Ahaha I use the spray flex seal to coat all my staples that I put through my vapor barrier. Works great.
Can I put black tar paper on top of plywood and the put mortar mix. Do I use mash wire on the mortar mix
Can you thinset some Flo Fx banding and pre fabed corners over the Wedi caulking to fortify the usual leaking spots?
the metric system sucks. go to europe if you can't handle it
Man I love you! You have done it all, thanks! This is exact the situation for my current project!
Does mixing chew it up? That’s my only concern
Nowadays we don't need curb, just an one inch metal latch to stop the water, easy to clean.
The door handle is too big.
I don't trust myself to do it that way.
I'm very late to this video but I'm installing a Schluter Kerdi prefabricated niche and I can't help but think the exposed untaped glue joints of all the 1/2" panels are the weak point of these boxes over time...abbed boxes I'm using a liquid roll on waterproofing membrane on the walls of the shower/tub area and I'm going to apply some on the seams of these pre fabricated boxes with a small 1/2" paint brush both inside the niche and externally also... I see these Kerdi Fix glue joints as a definite weak spot of these boxes over time... I realize these wall niches are not seeing any water submersion like a shower pan, but I can't bring myself to fully trust this company's system... It all seems too fiddly and over complicated ...
Two words. Furniture dolly.
Watching your video makes me want tile again ❤
thanks for this video, and all the details and work experience you shared, thanks again
Can you float the floor pad first and let it cure and then go back with the Kirdi membrane?
The video is great. I wonder how you would deal with a floor that is not exactly level. Would you use floor leveler first? Also, I have a narrow half bath and have picked out an 8x8 porcelain tile with a large star centered in the middle and small quarter stars in the corners. Would I start in the middle and work out so the cuts match or would I work from one side to the other?
It would have been nice if Issac identified the thinset he's using in this video (or even a comment in information section)... instead of just saying at 4:20 "This is my preferred thinset". In one of his replies to a comment when asked he simply stated: "Mapei Keraflex Super, Laticrete 254, Customs Flex Bond all would be good choices" (which still doesn't pinpoint what he's actually using in this video). Just a guess but based on its color and consistency it "looks like" it might be Multimax Lite, which he has demonstrated, used and praised in a few of his past videos.
Great video and heartfelt. Much more success to you
The nook is supposed to be screwed off to studs. Good try. I'm sure you sell a course telling people how to do this. 😂
Great video. Do you know of a wet saw big enough to cut 1.5” thick quarts?
Excelente número #1
Hi. Thanks a lot for this helpful video-what size or brand is this blue outlet extender?
A nightmare to demo
The tile installed in our whole house is soft when wet. The builderbis suggesting an epoxy hardener, but I can't seem to find this product to find out if it's the correct application or remedy.
Shower pan shuffle
How much working time do I have to get the deck mud sloped and smoothed out in the shower once I have it mixed up?
About an hour
Isaac, if you install one in a blue moon, it’s worth getting this rough in; however, if you install quite a few a month, those rough ins at 200$/pop adds up really fast. You can use a trap adapter at 5$ a piece instead of the rough in, lift up the tub and drop it on 2 batteries or whatever blocks you have, enough to slide your hand under the tub and tighten the trap adapter nut . Then at the same time, slide out the blocks with your helper and drop the tub in. Don’t forget that floors are never 100% level, those tub feet need to be adjusted at 1/8” or so from the floor and the tub should be dry fitted to make sure it doesn’t wobble. Put silicone over the feet and drop the tub in. Adjust , fill the tub with water half way and open the drain. That’s how you check for leaks… Code says the tub has to be completely sealed to the bottom. So use your choice of sealant and seal the entire perimeter or as much as you can.
We have soft grout in our entire 2400 square foot home, which is a new construction. The builder is now suggesting to try a topical epoxy hardener. I'm confused, as I don't know what this product is or if it's the right application over soft grout. Also, the only epoxy products I see relating to grout are actual epoxy grout itself. Any professional opinion here is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Great vids! Tile Redi and others tell us to be sure to use a vapor barrier under the mortar bed, and they say to ONLY use Type S mortar for pan install. I see you use no tar paper, and say to use modified thin set? Tell us why? Appreciate your great content man!
There are two types of Tile Redi pans, the ones with ribs and the flat bottom black ones. The black ones there is no vapor barier needed, just thinset to the floor.
