Hi, I'm Shawn James. I am a passionate outdoorsman living the life of my dreams in a log cabin that I built by myself in the Canadian wilderness. Join me and my golden retriever, Cali and listen to the sounds of the forest in this relaxing wilderness setting. I prefer to keep my talking to a minimum and let the natural sounds of nature make you feel as though you are there with me.

Shaun, you do realize that this "Tah Mahal" for chickens could be a main attraction for traveling chickens at "Chicken World" in Orlando Florida. Now you do know all those chickens are going to do is eat, crap and lay eggs I kinda believe you think more of you layers that you do of yourself! Nice coop by-the-way, never seen one nicer...love all the adventures you take us all on...

do you have traffic-noise that close to your cabin?? Or what was it we did hear in this video? It is really coming together at your property. I have wondered for a long time when you would get you chicken. Everything is so well done. Light and love to you and family from Scandinavia.

Hey you are scalding and plucking, proper way to do it. When I was young and we got running water and a hot water heater the hot water heater was set to scald, we butchered chickens etc. Later on next water heater temp got turned down, we got wild turkeys and since dad didn't want to boil water to do the scalding and plucking he just skinned them. Mom tried several ways of roasting turkeys that had been skinned. What worked the best was making a skin out of fresh pork jowl or side meat. I kinda liked the sauerkraut method but mom didn't.

You're quite the one man show Shawn . Love watching you build anything, but that's a cool looking Switzerland style chicken coop and that's pretty darn amazing. I guess that was your wife talking in the background unless Cali used hooked on phonex and learned to speak English 😂😂 Emily got a video out to us today and I'm so sad to hear she's still struggling with her concussion symptoms. They can really cause havoc in one's life but I hate it's happening to her. She's such a sweetheart and so adventurous and loves the outdoors but it's hard to get to active with the brain injury. Dale Earnhardt Jr. I'm sure yall know is the nascar driver that had a concussion from a crash a number of yrs ago and he got better after a couple yrs and even got back in the race car and still does periodically so they can be cured just takes time and doing everything her doctors tell her to. I'm praying for her and hope that happens soon because I want our little Emily back that was so vibrant and happy and working and building at hers and your cabin and gardens. Thanks Shawn wifey and sweet Cali .🙏

I got my 1st Mirriam sub species Wild Turkey, last Sunday morning at 6:30 am about 20 minutes after they came down from the roost. I used 3" magnum 12 ga #5 shot in a 22 inch barrel modified choke pump shotgun. We had hunted 2 evenings and 1 morning prior. The evening before success we found their roosting trees, that was the key to success. This was in Northern Utah, the Wasatch mountains. About 5500 ft elevation. They will move up to about 6-7000 ft as we get into Summer. Based on the beard length, mine was 2 years old and weighed 15 lbs once gutted and plucked.

Its sad, the turkey eggs got stolen. An Idea just popped in my head. How about investing in an Incubator? Next time you can scoop up those precious eggs and multiply the turkey population! Yea go Sean and Family!
