Welcome to Catholic Mom and Daughter! We love sharing how our real lives intersect with our beautiful Catholic faith. We talk about books, life with teenagers, homeschooling, crafting, fashion, and Jesus. We hope you will join us, finding inspiration and encouragement along the way. Jesus, we trust in You! Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us!

Well I’m glad you aren’t saints…. yet. 😊
Lol- safe to say we have a long way to go (at Jennifer does; Kate has the patience of Job).
The All Things Catholic book looks interesting. I'm halfway through a different book by John Taylor Gatto called Dumbing us Down.
How do you like that one? Is it just a collection of his speeches? He definitely has a lot to say!
@@catholicmomanddaughter I am liking it. Yes, it is a collection of speeches and essays, but it is very well written and eye opening!
I am a bit confused by the author. Seems like a strange pick but hopefully Sophia Press knows what they are doing.
Yeah- it's very interesting so far, but we are wondering the same. He is a devout Catholic, though
Thank you ladies ❤
Any time!
Hi! I have this saved for future reference for history reads throughout the year. My boys and I read one this year called, The Endless Steppe, by Esther Hautzig. It’s a historical nonfiction book about the author’s time during WWII. It’s really a great read! Thank you for sharing all your books!
We're so glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for the book tip; WWII is a subject we always enjoy reading about :)
🙏🙏🙏🌟
🙏🙏🙏🌟
Jesus is our answer, serve him and him only, jesus is the way truth and life, you cant get to the father but threw him, repent ladys seek jesus, time is sooo short, every knee will bow at his coming!read the new testament, open your eyes to what will soon be coming on this earth,,,seek jesus
Thanks, we do seek Jesus. God bless!
You dont pray to mary or worship her! Jesus is the way truth and life,no one gets to the father but threw him, pray to him, repent from your idols
We're all good here. Catholics don't worship Mary. Thanks, though!
Just read the Bible.
They do ❤️👍🏻🙏🏻
Mmm, everything sounded delish!! Thanks for sharing this vintage cookbook with us!!
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching :)
I read St. Augustine's Confessions and he sounded like someone now a days. Almost read it with a surfer voice😅. Like the minimalist choices. Can't read 1800s books for the same reason ,flowery language. Occasionally I can stick with one to get the gist of it
That is too funny- now we will always think of surfers when we read The Confessions, lol
❤your sweater😊
I read Messina in June on Kate's recommendation. I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading the other books in the series. I also read The Marian Option by Carrie Gress and an ebook about Mother Cabrini. Now I am working on The Reed of God by Caryll Houselander which is really lovely so far and also a book called Clare and Her Sisters by Madeline Pecora Nugent. I have not read much of it yet but it is a historical fiction about St. Clare. I am also reading How They Love Mary which I heard about on your channel. My book wish list has gotten much longer after watching your videos. :)
What a great book list you have going! Thank you for sharing :) Please let us know how you like the book about St. Clare… sounds very interesting!
I write mystery books with a "catholic backdrop", like a catholic ribbon running through them. Can I send you both a set of the books to read? I would love to hear your review about them. My author name is R Shannon. 😁
Hello- can you contact us about this via email? Our address is in the description box. Thanks!
I started (but haven't yet finished) Otherlands: A Journey through Earth's Extinct Worlds, by Thomas Halliday. It's a series of chapters on the early physical world and its ecosystems as it may have been during various epochs in history. Interesting read for those with a scientific bent.
Oh, that sounds really good. I'm going to add it to my wish book list.
Sounds intriguing!
@@catholicmomanddaughter So far it's better than the dinosaur book!
@@MargaretUIUC Lol, ack- the dinosaur book! That was something
Thanks for sharing your reads. They all sound interesting. Thank you so much for all the work that you do with VBS & confirmation. I appreciate you so, so much for being here !
Thank you, Lena! You are always a bright light for us :)
So nice to see I'm not the only one who reads multiple books at a time.😊
Amen!
I love to read too! I read three books in June: Spaceman from Bohemia by Jaroslav Kalfar, Trigger Warning by Neil Gaiman and A Street Cat Named Bob by James Bowen. Right now I'm over half way through Frankenstein by Mary Shelley.
We love Bob! We have read all the books about him :) Frankenstein is a good one. Thanks for sharing your reads with us :)
Spaceman from Bohemia sounds great...I'm bohemian too

Thanks for offering this give away! I love watching your channel as it is a wonderful variety of Catholic content, especially for families. Just wanted to let you know I was inspired by watching the St. Jude relic video and then St. Jude came to our city as well! ❤ I love any books helping Catholic meditation/contemplation time with Our Lord and the St. Mark Gospel book looks wonderful. Also I have been looking at the Blessed is She planner as I’m trying to find something that follows the liturgical year and this will be my first year trying to do some homeschool with my very young daughter. I definitely need a good planner and a Catholic one that follows liturgical living is what we want for our home. May God Bless your work and family 🌹🙏🏻
Thank you! We have you entered :) We hope your homeschooling goes well- time together is always a blessing :)
I had been hearing nouses for weeks at night outilside my bedroom. One day I heard the back back door close and footsteps when no one was there. My dog went crazy because she heard it to. I prayed a hail Mary and doused the place with holy water and it stopped. I've since had my house blessed.
That sounds like a very scary situation! We are so glad you had your house blessed and all is well now :)
Anna is the Patron Saint of my home town. ❤
That's great!
Any catholic fiction around?
We have a video coming soon about a recent jaunt into the world of Catholic fiction. We do like a lot of the authors over at Catholic Teen Books. They do have fiction that is not just for teens. "Tortured Soul" by Theresa Linden is a great one!
Yay more cooking vids! Love them! Monsignor noodles sounds like it could be a new pet name lol. 😃
Lol- yes; that would be a great name! The Parochial Vicar is missing Pagan Cat and could do with some company.
A month ago i went to go see the relic of St Jude, and pray for my husband colon cancer to be remove And thanks to God and St Jude, its gone🙇
That is wonderful! Praise be to God!
Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Are you kidding with this?
Thank you ladies for this giveaway.
That’s a good-looking store. I don’t have a Goodwill bookstore in my area-as far as I know-but I hope we get one soon.
It looks like this is a Goodwill trend- so maybe you will have one soon :)
Try Indian recipes 5:21
That's a good idea!
Oh this was just so fun. The cookbook sounds great & that's neat that it has menu samples. All the recipes looked good even the clam one. I bet that'd be good w/ salmon as well. Thank you for being here for us !
Salmon would be a great twist on that recipe!
Great video! The rubrics of both the Traditional Latin Mass and the Novus Ordo Mass encourage the priest to bless water and bless salt, mix the two together, then sprinkle the people with them. The sprinkling is traditionally referred to as the "asperges".
Such beautiful traditions. What a blessing to be Catholic!
The tomatoes are similar to how I do them. We love them.
We don't have a bookstore of any kind. We can go 10-15 mins to get to one, but it isn't great. That town also has a Goodwill. I've gotten some classic children's books there. To find anything Catholic, we have to go to St Louis area.
St. Louis must have some pretty good used bookstores, though? Could be worth the drive :)
So beautiful 🙏✝️One Priest once told me to turn to Scripture too ❤️The Word of God reminds us that The Lord can fill us with peace and that God wants us to trust Him
Very wise words- thanks for sharing!
