I have used the Catholic Company’s morning prayers for a few years. It’s a great way to start the day and gives a brief history of the saint of the day to keep you connected to the Church. Your honesty and humility are very encouraging. We all need encouragement and inspiration when we are in our “lazy times” Let’s get praying and keep up the good work! 😇🙏🏻❤️

🙋🏻‍♀️I'm a lazy Catholic. These were some great tips. I get the novena emails but I always get sidetracked around day 3 or 4 and completely fail. Our Z goes to daily Mass anytime he isn't working. I wish I could get myself up to go with him. I struggle with mornings.

That is the hardest part for us in getting to daily mass, Michelle- getting out the door in the morning in time!

Great tips! I find my prayer life seems to go through "seasons." I used to stress about this, but now I just go with what I feel is right for my often changing routine. As long as I always set a time to pray and show up, I know I will be on track. I like to set an alarm on my phone to remind me when it is time to pause and say "hello" to my sweetest friend ever... That is a good reminder not to stress over the ups and downs of prayer life- just show keep showing up :)

What great ideas! I'm ashamed to say that I'm sometimes lazy. What I discovered during lent was Singthehours on utube. I do both vespers & lauds first thing in the morning & every evening. No excuses. On days like today when I'm flyling to/from the hospital, I sometimes have to have it playing as I'm getting ready. Thank you for being with us !

I set up checklists for everything I want to be consistent with. I am not particularly disciplined by nature but setting things up ahead of time helps me a lot.

Those are some really helpful tips! The only method I use is, whenever I feel too lazy to get out of bed on a Sunday to go to mass, I just remind myself of how much Jesus loved us and wanted to be with us, so much so that he willingly suffered on the cross to pay the debt that separates us from God. I think about how my own lethargy seems trivial in comparison to his pain and passion, then drag my lazy bum off to church.

Imagine what the priest feels, when day after day, our spiritual fathers look out and see no one, for Mass. No one comes to make confession, either. I hope people know, health, and eyesight are not guaranteed. Here one day, gone, the next.

Everything we have is a gift from God- how true! Our daily masses here are well attended, as is confession. There is always a long line for that!

I try to be conscious of when I’m scrolling on my phone or lessening my TV watching so I can read more. I also go to bed early to feel well rested in order to make it to church. I bend the pages in my Living in Christ booklet but I like your idea better & maybe circling in different colours to show the different churches I attend.

Too hard? No, Ma'am, Too hard is not being able to drive, because of your eyes, and no longer having a license. That is too hard. How hard is it for priests, to get up daily, look out into the seats, and see them empty.

We all have different challenges and temptations that keep us from being holy. We are so sorry to hear that you are no longer able to drive; that must be very hard! At our church, daily mass is very well attended, but we know that is not the case everywhere. This is a good reminder to pray for our priests every day.
