Mr. Layne Staley, I would not lie to you about your pain. Please repent, I am not a blasphemer, I would not lie about your pain, and I will not lie about what is or isn't a lie. But thank you for the truths you've spoken in this song. Sorry if I misspelled your name - Kittenpuncher

A trip on LSD got me sober 27 years ago. Today I’m taking a huge dose of mushrooms to hopefully break through my deep depression. Listening to this before I take them to remind myself the path I want to stay on is a strong one rooted in the beauty of embracing sober life. Nature, literature, refreshing breezes, clouds, stars, hiking to mountain tops, the fact that young people still fall in love and start families. Peace all.

So much blood, I'm starting to drown Runs from cold to colder Time to time the sky's come down To help me lose my way Tears and lies for answers You and open veins God knows I'm gone Girl, I just want you to come on down Lord, it's a storm and I'm heading to fall These sins are mine and I've done wrong Oh babe, come on down All of my past come down, down Long gone day Hmm-mmm Who ever said we wash away with the rain? See you all from time to time Isn't it so strange how far away we all are now? Am I the only one who remembers that summer? Oh-oh, I remember Every day, each time the place was saved The music that we made The wind has carried all of that away Long gone day Hmm-mmm Who ever said we wash away with the rain? So many tears, I'm starting to drown The rain in heaven's all come down Silver spoons affix the crown The luckless ones are broken Fears and lies for answers You and open flames God knows I'm gone And I just want you to come on down, hmm Lord, it's a storm and I'm heading to fall These sins are mine and I've done wrong I want you to Oh, I just want you to Come on down Tonight Tonight Tonight Tonight I fear again, like then, I've lost my way And shout to God to bring my sunny day

Such a beautiful voice. My favs were Chris and Eddie and I feel Layne was a combination of both. Did not sound like them. But was able to combine the Soulfulness of Chris with the Harmony of Eddie, and (if needed) the scream and anguish thru the pain of Kurt. Sometimes leaving you to wish you could have helped. Just my take as a NW kid of the era.

Lyrics: Artificial red Smoke, poison consumed In the house of ill repute Is this the way I spend my days In recovery of a fatal disease? Ooh ooh Ooh ooh Ooh ooh Ooh ooh On a cloud of pink has turned to grey And I'm alone again Yeah Someone to hold against my own Alone, untouched is what I crave Ooh ooh Ooh ooh Ooh ooh Ooh ooh Artificial red Smoke, poison consumed In the house of ill repute Is this the place I search for love When my need is within me, a gift from above? Ooh ooh Ooh ooh Ooh ooh Ooh ooh

Lyrics: Do the laughs die when One such as I run And allow myself Time for own true needs When convincing me That you're on my team May not lie to me But not mentioning So sit back and have An hysterical Laugh at tiny holes Buy and trade men's souls X-ray mind reads plenty Worth no more than pennies You, they, it or what Have been fair, I thought May you never free You from you or me See the more I think I'm afraid to blink I don't move an inch Slowly draining me Hire a spy and bug me Pimp your friends for money Rich and growing sicker Sell the dead ones quicker

Glad I saw AIC, and was really lucky although i was 9 saw Temple of the Dog, as PJ and Soundgarden were honoring Andy Wood's passing. Just insane this band. We gotta Keep Mike McCredy alive, he's the last one alive still. Just incredible, the drumming is insane espcially during the bridge.

Man, im bored at work so I've been sitting here flipping through bits of old songs i miss and this one grabbed me all the way through. Always loved it. I remember being a kid and hearing it for the first time. I hunted through all my Alice in Chains discs trying to figure out how i missed it. I looked for AiC releases i didnt know about. I had no idea Mad Season was a thing and they hadnt said the artist on the radio. I just recognized Layne's voice.... Remember when it wasn't so easy to find information on the Internet? I had dial up back then and i couldn't figure out right the search term to use. I had to wait to hear it again on the radio when the DJ actually said who it was. Do kids today know that frustration?

what the hell, I never knew about this band and by the quality of the video I thought this was recent. I almost thought it was a alice in chains cover band.
