I'm in my 50s. No anabolics. No TRT, yet. I still lift for passion. I still lift for the challenge. I lift to stay healthy, mentally, physically, and emotionally. I lift in order to try to live a long life. That's the key. Not the old adage, live fast, die young, leave a pretty corpse. Its a rough scene out there. Young people are making the decision to use steroids before they have even tried to max out their potential naturally. They are young and easily influenced by peers and social media. They aren't thinking or worrying about the potential consequences. I appreciate the honesty here, Jonni. You truly care about your followers and subscribers, which to me, shows a man with an incredible amount of integrity.

If I were you I wouldn't brag about being 50 if you learned so little in life that you think steroids is a true health issue. More people die every year from OTC medication than steroids. No prescription needed. If you want to "save" people, go stand in front of the door to the pharmacy. Even better, the liquor store. Now you're smarter than you were before. Take that knowledge and use it wisely.

All true. If they are hellbent on doing gear,at least train for 10 to 15 years naturally 1st,NEVER START AS A TEEN. Steroids work, but so do racing engines, do those 50 to 100,000 dollar engines last....no,they will eventually blow, but you can rebuild those, but you can't be rebuilt. If you make the choice, you better damn well except the consequences that comes with them. Life is about choices, make the right choice for you, priorities change as you age, keep that in mind.

Alot of things in todays world is seen as short lived. Never seeing that bodybuilding is just a small part of ones overall life. I love bodybuilding but i also love to do other things too. Its just certain things are highlighted in fitness that everyone should do the same, but thats not true. Seeing longevity and having a healthy long life is the ultimate gold award that no judge can give you but yourself. The fitness industry has a lot to work on as seeing health over money. We all love to see genetic freaks on stage but at the cost of all it takes to get there plus not to mention the competition today is insane. They are getting better and better each year but they are getting younger and younger. Everyone was so amazed to see sam sulek and the short lived fame he got but we're seeing now much younger and a new breed fued by the influence of our fitness industry and it disgusts me. The spotlight needs to change to more natural training and advice. More transparency is needed.

Thank you Jonni. I do take a small issue with what you said at 7:15 about it "being none of our business..." Joe Blow down at my local gym can do whatever he wants, but a fitness/athletics influencer absolutely makes it our business when he/she implies with their body and their records that what they're saying, and especially what they're selling, is worth our time and money. It is a proven fact that an idiot and steroids can build a big athletic body. We have a right to know if someone is using something to get results that a lifetime natural cannot get. If Dr. Mike and Jared weren't completely open about their use of "special sports supplements", I would have no use for either of them.

Wild to think of gear as an addiction, but it totally can be. I hope Larry Wheels can stay off because it will kill him eventually. (btw I purged a lot of influencers from my subscribe list recently, but this channel will always be on the keep list)

You know what's funny? You have 100% hit the nail on the head, sort of, and I didn't realize it until today. So I follow you, and Eric Janeki, and Dr mike currently. I'm also 41 years old, I'm more into longevity than being the biggest guy in the room. And I see Kali Muscle on fb and that dude is literally scrapping the bottom of the barrel for content. He no longer has the size but also doesn't have the knowledge or ability to properly convey an accurate message in his videos. Just shouting out no steroids, no creatine, no meat, God this, God that ,and then does half ass reps looking like a used football. And to think in my late 20s early 30s i was drinking that stupid hyphy mudd and idolizing him. Some of these guys don't have anything but size working in their favor and it's starting to show in today's day and age

One of the best thing a person can do for their health is to stay natural, yeah it always easy to take steroids and get jack, and so what if it's harder to gain muscles being natural at least you're not putting your health at risk for a moment's glory.

First, Dr. Mike has stated he's willing to die five to 10 years earlier taking steroids. He and his wife have no kids, so him dying 5-10 years earlier isn't going to affect children. His wife is also on board with his drug use. Personally, I think that's a ridiculous trade off, though that's his choice. It can also cause radical mood swings, anger issues, and hair can fall out for most men who don't have DHT resistant hair follicles. Most people need to lifestyle changes that include nutrition, lose brown fat tissue in your belly that releases high levels of cortisol, exercise properly, find ways to deal with stress, and get eight hours of sleep. I tell my clients If they do that, natural and not exogenous testosterone levels will move up. I'm in my late 50's now and my total and free testosterone levels are the same as they were in my 20's.

People that are not testosterone deficient and take steroids are just plain dumb. you can get plenty strong and muscular with hard work. I got pretty big naturally but now being 53, I would have trained lighter in the younger years, I would have been better off not being quite as big because it takes a toll on your joints. There are only so many heavy lifts that the human body can withstand in a joint. There is a mental illness component to taking steroids and there should be more of a effort for mental health treatment for these people. The health effects are real and there is no safe steroid use. When you get older you realize how life is so precious, and longevity is so much more important than bigger muscles.

Smoking weed every now and then or having a drink once in a while is not comparable to exogenous hormones. In any way shape for form. Why risk being on TRT for the rest of your life?

Im more or less a fair-weather viewer so take what i say after this with a grain of salt: i dont care if you are bigger or not. I tend to not watch your videos as much as other creators because i find your perspective to be very demotivating for me. A lot of the time i hear you talk about how "you have to enjoy what you are doing in the gym" and that doesnt resonate with me. Because there is nothing about the gym that i like. I still go, and i go quite often. But its not because i enjoy it. I go because it has what i need: a physique. And i dont like being reminded of how much i despise the gym. The blase "just enjoy the journey and be happy with what you get from it" is saccharine and demotivating. I gravitate more towards creators who are searching under every rock to find something to grant better insights into ways to optimise training. That way, even if i still have to go just as pften, or train just as hard, at least i can get more out of it. Because i am only there for the body. Everything else is an obstacle. But all that to say: the reason i dont watch you as often has nothing to do with how big you are or arent.
