Please don’t fall for this, it’s impossible to “fix” your gap because that is determined by where the muscle inserts into your sternum which is genetic and cannot be changed. The best thing you can do is grow your upper chest to make it look bigger overall, again not gonna fill in the gap but will make it less apparent.

Gonna try this next Monday for chest day! I have gyno and my chest is my worst part. Everything else perfect but my chest and it is barely developed... Since I've been doing upper chest workouts only it looks a little better, but I have a middle gap which needs filling in. This will help me until I get the surgery lol. Thanks for the great workout tips👍🏼

Chest day tomorrow and I now know what I’m doing. The 4 sets of incline chest presses with half reps are like doing 8 and the 4 sets of flyes with a drop set after each is like doing 8, so that’s really 16 sets in two exercises. Gotta watch incline presses again to see if the incline is 15 or 30. I also saw Chris Bumstead do his chest presses with dumbbells facing neutral as well.

ive noticed ive been growing my shoulders insane but chest growth hasnt been great at all. even though i am lifting alot more. ive been retracting like crazy, i feel the blood flow and pump in my chest, but just seem to be more shoulders. I realized, Ive been so focused on arching and retracting, that I may have not actually been "Depressing" my shoulders. could this be a thing preventing chest from gaining size?

There is one thing i don't understand from this video. Why the partial reps in the first exercise? You said that the fix for the gap in a persons chest is to do a greater range of motion. So how does a partial rep help? The only thing i can think of is the effect where training other muscles stimulates the body to grow more everywhere.

  • @fawadkhalil11

Dumbbells or barbell with regular grip is as good as this one so far I have experienced. It just takes time + better focus and mind muscle connection to develop the middle part. Doing very close grip didn’t help me much. May be incorporate flies with more weight is good for developing that part as well. However, one can eliminate the upper part of rep range of dumbbell flies because that’s not contributing much anyways and do more stretch with chest elevated on the start of the rep range, the reps will now look like slightly more than partial reps with more focus on stretched position. And do proper warm up to save your shoulder joints. I don’t know but the cables mostly seemed to haven’t contributed to growth after certain point except giving a good pump so I have replaced most of them with dumbbells and barbells and more weights combined with Mike Mentzer style training.

@jonnishreve Thanks for the inner chest exercise tips! Questions: What is the optimal bench angle for DB incline 15, 20, 30 degrees? Do you recommend using neutral grip instead of supinated for incline dumbbell press, or both? Isn’t that 1/2, not 1/4 reps? If I can’t get arms straight doing flies should I reduce the weight or is this a form issue? Thank you Jonni!

I like your stuff and just a few others content but Ryan Humiston had an interesting video on chest recently you should take a look at make a vid with your thoughts. I tried the more straight out elbows from the body approach he recommended and demonstrated and my chest is more wrecked than it’s ever been including between the pecs. You should take a look and try it Id’e like to hear your thoughts. Maybe if ya critique him you two could do a collab on down the line

Pretend you're hugging a barrel. Keep your elbows bent to like a 45 degree angle and keep your elbows at that angle. Focus with your mind to hug someone but think about using your chest to move the weight. Should help.

  • @ravivanlent1824

Gap in your chest is due to genetics. Some people have no gap but a full chest and some people have a gap in between creating more of a separation. This is not something you can fix, as you can NOT grow muscles at a certain spot if there is no muscle-tissue to grow…. Training your chest when you have a gap will not fill the space, if anything it might make it more apparant because the rest of the chest grows but the gap stays flat.
