#SURVIVAL | OUTDOORS | HUNTING | FISHING | TRAPPING | HOMESTEADING | BUSHCRAFT | CAMPING

This channel is about the outdoors. Not just about survival, fishing, hunting, trapping, or even bushcraft, but about the whole process of procuring resources, fish and game, wild edibles, and other materials necessary for sustenance - wilderness living. I do not practice ‘catch and release’ or even ‘sport fishing.’

I do not “harvest.” Rather, I catch and keep, and consume what I catch. However, I do not catch and keep more than I plan to consume.

I would much prefer utilizing nature on my own accord than to visit a supermarket and have that be sourced out to others (farmer and butchers). This gives me a much deeper respect for the flesh of animals, ‘meat’, than can be had through its nearest cousin, the sterilized plastic wrap and foam packaged variety sold in supermarket.

That blue firestarter case of yours looks like an expensive drill bit box! Maybe router or milling machine but it looks like a bit box of some sort!

Karma more than paid me back. Tape would work for some first aid agreed. You did say a small pot maybe would have fit half way in. But no rebuke on the plires. I'm all ways prepared

I could hear your saw binding in the cut. If you try setting the saw depth so the blade only just penetrates through. It will fix the binding issue. Also it’s a good habit for 2 reasons. One it will not tare the wood and grab. Second, less blade out makes for a safer saw in that it can’t cut you as deeply

If the water is questionable in a stream like that, you can go 4 to 5 feet from it and dig a hole and wait. The water that seeps into that will be cleaner

Great job! That was a big project even with modern tools and equipment. It’s still hard to believe how people did it hundreds of years ago.

With a tarp that big, I'd do a lean to with a ground cover. That way you have a dry spot to sit and lay down while still having ample cover over head, and you'd only need 2 sticks to prop up the corners for the cover and make four pegs for the base. Toy could also pile up debris like grass and bows under the ground cover section to have a more comfortable bed. I am impressed you managed to get so much stuff in that bucket, very well packed.

Thanks for noticing. That's as much of a the challenge. To fit everything you want to bug out comfortably in just a five gallon pail. It's harder than it looks.

Ok boys, this 71 yr old granny from Tennessee has been camping for over 50 years and in my opinion everyone ( Zack, Amos, Woodsman and Greg) actually does zero survival and at best I call it simply camping. To be fair Zack and Woodsman have great talents in bushcrafting and they probably stand a better chance if and when TSHTF. I would love a true challenge between the 4 of you men, like on Alone, minimal everything, maybe above the Artic Circle, and whoever thrives the best wins. Heck, do it in teams, draw straws, and go for it. Let your audience decide on the winner or come up with your own criteria for choosing the winning person or team. I'm ready to see who out of you 4 has what it really takes for true survival of the fittest. All you gents need an opportunity to see what you are made of, and perhaps facing true survival might be a lifetime achievement worthy of your time. We followers would be thrilled should this come to fruition. Come on, act fast before I kick the bucket.

You realize that people who live in the arctic right now, actually use snowmobiles, and all the modern equipment you could dream of! To actually not die, you need more than just minimal.
