I spend 7 days, and nights at the off grid log cabin in the woods camping out on my trap line looking to get beaver for a delicious wild game meal. I also cook bear meat, and other foods I have collected throughout the year while being in the woods. Thanks to Jackery for sponsoring this video!
HISEA BOOTS: www.hisea.com/
The log cabin was built by hand a couple years ago, and is where we boil our maple sap down to maple syrup. It makes for a delicious topping to our pancakes.
I have also been using the log cabin as a place to stay when I hunt or trap, as it is located deep in the woods bringing me close to wild game like ducks, turkey, beaver, muskrat, and is located next to our dug out trout pond full of rainbow.

I forgot to mention in my comment a friend gave me both back legs from a large beaver. I smoked them up on my pellet grill. To me it’s very beefy dark meat with only a slight game taste.

Stuff like this almost never happens to me, so careful, and yet, I've caught myself twice doing this - on camera too!
Good to see you making this kind of video Chris.
I just want you to know how much I appreciate you keeping it real.
This is why you have 1.54 million subscribers Chris! I love these videos is great to hear from you again dude! Always love seeing little updates on the property, too.
Pond Update Is Gonna Be Amazing‼️ 🙌🏽 Thanks Chris For Keeping Us In The Loop Of Things...
I lost track of my wilderness channels. Too much work, not enough time to catchup. So glad I spent the time today to see what you have been up to. Luv the pond by the cabin. No more borrowing someone elses property, and following their rules. This is all you and your brother. Family style. Looking forward to seeing the fish in the pond!
Close call on impalement 😮 My uncle was a trapper and always said use a hammer for putting stakes in. I guess this is why 😂 Pond is looking awesome 👌
So glad to see you are feeling well enough to do some filming. i am sure it is not an easy task. LOVE LOVE LOVE the pond upgrade. I hope it resolves the past issues and the trout thrive! Blessings and many thanks Chris, for taking us along on your adventures.
Good to see you as always, many thanks.
When you was setting the trap I thought I seen a bone in the water, then a few minutes later when seeing the skull, I knew I wasn't seeing things, looked to be a deer I believe. I love Easter eggs. Thanks for all you do buddy.
Looked like a nice relaxing, off grid getaway!
That funny afterwards, good thing u didn't hit the stick in ur upper body. Anywhos love the videos keep up the good work. We'd love to see ur bloopers or u an Jeremy's bloopers. Have a warm dry day. Hahaha 😆 ☮Dj
Great to see you!!!❤
You have done a brilliant job on the pond I watched the videos of you digging it and modifying it and now it looks amazing well done.give yourselves a pat on the back. Exceptional
One lucky man. Literally living a dream in his own private paradise. You work hard and provide excellent content. So thank you! 🦫
Putting them ‘Hunting Skills’ to The Test. Right?
Thanks for the video Chris 👍
I like the grain bin. I told a friend to put one in his duck pond years ago. That way he could add fish to his pond.

Long time subscriber here. I hope you know the only reason you weren’t picked for ALONE at the time is because you’re overqualified. Don’t let your friends, family, or fans forget that. Man if you invited Old Man Greg Ovens or Vise Versa you’d be a millionaire X2! Boy what a beautiful feature that’d be. Love you man been following you and your brother since the very beginning of both channels. A guy can dream can’t he! Your content is television for a lot of us! Thanks for another cool upload finally
great to see vids rom you again.
Have you considered a Silky handsaw? They're really light, come with scabbards that you can put on your belt, the blades can take a ton of abuse, and they take up next to no room! They're used by arborists and industrial gardeners
you gotta make a best wild meals video, much love
Dude! The freakin pond is looking rad. Prime time out there right now 🐸🍺🔪🔥
All I have to say is; that your Hunting Skills really makes me wanna give that a Go…
Little early for a swim Lol Pond is looking great!
2:54 the skull looks amazing
Have you thought about putting freshwater shrimp (skuds) in your pond? You may have to introduce some plants to promote the growth of microorganisms for the shrimp to eat. That way it would be self sustaining.
Good trick to keep from having too much gas is to drink a 8 oz glass of water with 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in it every day to start and then 1 hour before eating a meal it has to be all natural vinegar with the mother I’ve been doing this now for two years and has really helped
Anyone else notice the skull in the water at the 2:54 mark of the vid? There was also a jaw bone of to the right just after the skull, in the same video section.

Great stuff as always!
Cracking video bud. Thank you

I live a hundred percent off-grid have for over 20 years. I don't have a jackery. But I do have a kilowatt for solar panels that take care of my electrical needs. And 8 100 amp hour batteries. So I'm good. I have thought about buying a jackery though. Thanks for sharing your video

I remember you mentioned in one of your videos a couple of years (or so) ago that you don't own a cellphone. If that has changed, and if you have a Facebook or Instagram account you could do a private live stream by selecting the audience as, "only me" and view your Go Pro camera. The stream is a few seconds delayed, but it is possible.

I have been having some chronic stomach issues too. I have found apple cider vinegar to help a good bit.
Hey I thought about this when you put the grain bin in but you need to put some sort of thick rubber cap around the top of it to keep someone from getting hurt if swimming or god forbid falling through the ice

You should consider eating some fermented foods. Like kimchi, fermented, sauerkraut, and other fermented vegetables. It will help kill off the bad bacteria‘s in your stomach and intestines, and replace them with good ones could be part of the cause of bloating because of the gases, the bad bacteria‘s will put off.

I have been, seems like mixed results so far. Will keep at it.
You may have better luck with your Conibear traps if you put the trigger off to one side, so the beaver sees a bigger opening. It doesn't take much to set the trap off. Good luck.
@TheWoodedBeardsman
Жыл бұрын
I haven't tried them sideways much. I didn't like the trigger to the top, prefer bottom so they can nudge their face through, sideways will try next!
@radagast6682
Жыл бұрын
@@TheWoodedBeardsman I don't mean turn the trap sideways, just slide the trigger to the side, bend one wire straight, close to the trap side, the other one only a little into the opening. The beaver will see a larger opening without obstruction. I noticed on your previous video, the beaver got out of the water, and walked around your trap. Beavers do not like to get out of the water and expose themselves to predation.
Chris ask HISEA for a pair of waders, I've had mine for a while now . Best waders I've ever had

@@TheWoodedBeardsman I think it's more likely that it's covered by build up of old oil. You could remove the build up on the bottom with oven cleaner containing lye, sodium hydroxide (NaOH). Easy-off yellow cap oven cleaner.

I like the taste of a fried bear steak the best, but if I want it to be tender, I slow cook it in a dutch oven.
Hello, new to you channel. Great content! It may be worth trying a Quercetin with Bromelain supplement. Even though it is recommended for allergies & joint health I noticed less stomach gas. I’m legit going to be homeless and living in my car and camping a ton due to my recent breakup with my fiancé…..You seem to have enough to spare 😅 I have a RockPal 300, but could use another. I’ll pay shipping and such. I know this is a long shot, I’m gonna ask Fowler the same on his new episode tonight. I’m just in a rough spot. Please keep making videos and I’m really looking forward to seeing more of the pond. Oh, and you mentioned something about doing a garden piece on your channel and I would love that. @TheWoodedBeardsman
Жыл бұрын
It really depends on temperature - and air exposure. If the animal isn't open, it can be aged a lot longer unless the animal is super warm like a deer with large volume. It's really no rules about it, you just have to pay attention to what's happening. Length of time at temp is what you're watching.
