I kinda confused. Trails is my first jrpg that I beat. I never finished other jrpgs 'cause they all become too grindy to the point that I regret starting playing them. But I finshed Trails in the Sky with just a bit struggle throughout a game and almost rage quit it only on a final boss. So I was really suprised, when you said that (I asume) tournament fight with ID was hard. I beat it on my first try, playing on normal difficulty.

Yeah so vengeance has the exact same problem as the original. I just got through the vengeance story and I don't wanna play it anymore to get to see the second ending of vengeance. first of all it's super lazy to just give us the main game again while we only get 2 new endings out of the new game. SMT 4 and SMT 4 apocalypse were 2 completely different stories AND you got many diferent endings. SMT 5 gives you 2 new endings and 4 boring repeating endings we already saw. On top of that, gameplay and music is fun yeah, but the story changes in absolutely 0 way with your decisions. Over are the days of your story changing progressively. You either make a choice at the very start or at the very end and this decides the endings you get. This tanks replayability as well and godborne makes everything take longer. It's not more challengeing.

I watched this video when it dropped and finally got around to playing the game. I’m only a few hours in but can agree that it’s the most solid 7/10 (not derogatory).

I've been feeling this a lot lately, and honestly this has just kinda finally pushed me over the edge, sure I want to play the latest and greatest, but you barely have time to finish one game before it's time for the next

I played the first Ni No Kuni once when it was available on gamepass and as a grown ass man, I confess the prologue was a tear jerker for me as any man with a good heart and loving mother would understand. I never played Ni No Kuni II but one thing I observed the two games have in common from this video is that both protagonists are thrusted into their wonderlands after experiencing an extremely traumatic moment in their lives. This is actually the most interesting part of narrative from both games to me personally because for all we know, the dark truth to the game's story could be that whatever they're experiencing in these worlds is all just trauma induced delusions and both protagonists are now actually just completely insane from despair and sadness in the real world.😢

Never have I felt the distance between 1993 and today as I did when I booted this up again. The sword charging technique took me right out of the experience.

I did not enjoy this game. I got somewhat along in the disjointed story and it did not click. I picked it up several times and just got annoyed with it. I even grinded for paladin which was a turnoff in its self, (you know what Im talking about). I happily unloaded this game to help my ps5 savings.
