I love both equally but i do prefer the original from 1933. I think they are both good equally but A: the 1933 film is a lot more influential, B: i watched it first so i have a bit of a bias, C: i think the 1933 has less filler then the 2005 version, D: it has inspired me to be a filmmaker like so many people before me, so i have to give some props to that. I don't hate anyone who prefers the 2005 film over the 1933 film, i just prefer the original.

1978: a real film adaptation of Adams' book. The dark tones, the spiral easter egg and the clarity of the plot make the film very good. The characters are drawn well - they are very cute, and go through many deadly adventures. There's a lot of blood, but it's on point. I love the movie. 1999-2001: I don't understand. Why was it necessary to follow the plot for the first 8 episodes (I’ll keep silent about skipping half the journey to the hill), and then shoot a complete gag for 2 seasons?! Faiva constantly fell into a trance, it was simply infuriating. Kihar generally became a tame dog, constantly running around with rabbits. The fight went like this: they talked and talked and touched each other a little. Well, is this a fight??? Bigwig, when he got caught in the snare, screamed and screamed and that was it. Director!!! Have you read the book?! ,, Under the mask of blood, vomit and earth, Bigwig looked like a rabbit demon.,, Well??? In short, complete bullshit. I watched it completely. I will never watch it again.

Ol' Peter Jackson must have gotten ideas for his scenes from Rankin/Bass, as a kid. 👋👍👍🤠

Lucy from Elfen Lied reminds me a lot of Carrie but I think the former is way more vicious since she can tear people apart into pieces.

I found the 1990 remake was faithful to the Original but added better ideas and also the fate of Barbara making her tough at the end but she ends up disturbed by the end shot I hated the Original actress who played her and she was just as terrible in that souls movie plus ben's fate was better done as a zombie. The Original is a fave don't get me wrong but Savini made it his own while showing not only respect to Romero but his own ideas as well

By reading all these comments I got to the conclusion that the remake is , for Haneke's meaning and social commentary, the superior movie. The 97' was just a prototype, that's why it feels way too realistic and authentic, while the 2007 is what the Director wanted it to be in the first place. I understand why everyone clings to the original though , this isn't the kind of franchise that loves it's audience

I'm just gonna say it...I seriously didn't like the kid in the 1997 version. And in truth, the 1997 version, SUCKED!!! The 1980 version of the shining though, is an absolute masterpiece!!! One of my top favorite movies! And it still is today!!!

I prefer the '93 over the '88. I preferred the American actors over the Dutch ones and the ending not as disturbing. Got that with Se7en, The Wicker Man, The Mist, The Prestige, Primal Fear, Oldboy, The Skeleton Key, Buried, and The Omen.

1997 was a ripoff of the prior movies; no creativity; a cheesy "love story"; just modern special effects. Awful.

You’re crap have you ever wonder to appreciate things it doesn’t matter what quality is it, it’s about the hard work put in to it. How would you fell when people laugh at something hard you worked on? Nevertheless, you should take that word back because everything has a way of coming back to you. Plus. If you search about the Poseidon 2006. Google itself called it a “horrible remake”

I feel like releasing it on June 6th, 2006 was a perfect marketing trick. But there’s no point in trying if all you’re doing is making a shot for shot plagiarized remake just with a more sophisticated budget. It’s basically like someone writing a book and then you steal all the credit and change minor details.
