I would say the tech level is more early Renaissance. Val Salia is pretty much an Italian city-state in the likes of Genoa or Venice, a cosmopolitan city thriving on trade with its neighbors while neighboring empires eat each other. Books are readily available so someone out there invented the printing press. Literacy is on the rise even among yinglets. The only things lacking are early firearms and seeing caravels in dock. Fantasy realms these days usually have all the trappings of a Renaissance level society minus firearms. To find fantasy settings that are truly medieval you have to go back to Advanced Dungeons and Dragons or Mercedes Lackey or Tolkien. The thing with yinglets is, they are pretty well grounded in biology. They are monotremes with characteristics similar to some wading birds and with a similar diet. They use that tooth to open oyster shells, clams, and to deliver a nasty bite as we see Lopin do. I would actually hate to be bitten by a yinglet.

Thank you for talking about the development of this film, a lot of people gloss over this when talking about and criticizing the movie.

more ppl should read stuff like out of placers you won't find these things unless you stumble upon them by pure chance and if you happen to start reading it you quickly come to want more. if you're like me you might start reading it for diffrent reasons but quicky stay around for the fun characters and good story

One movie you could probably make all sorts of comparisons to here might be _The Dark Crystal_ ; one look at the characters and it's clear that was an inspiration. That movie ALSO has an exposition-heavy intro, due to uncertainty that audiences would understand the alien world it presented.

Just thought I'd mention three good spinoff comics based on ValSalia's work. Chasing Bolide and Drift by shard_of_confusion as well as Learn to Live by umbrascythe That is all, enjoy.

I Watch Delgo when I was eight years old. I thought it was a pretty good movie. Maybe the franchise could get a reboot, maybe by DreamWorks, since they’re good with Shrek, rise of the guardians, how to train your dragons and abominable!

I do agree that the 2002 He Man series was very good and I love watching these episodes. I especially like their redesign for Prince Adam. His more muscular build, his hair, his clothes and his character development are brillant. I also enjoy the actors who voice the various characters. They are unique and memorable.

Yes but ram ma'am even though thankfully a new character, she is indeed annoying Most of her conflict is unnecessary And man at arms is well isn't much but is not annoying Also man e faces ... I seriously felt they didn't know what to do with him

I wanna do the opposite of Syncro Vox where is a real human speaking with a cartoony ass mouth. Yes, i've seen it in superman on Justice League but it deserves better.

It’s not It actually has poor character development very little continuity and no to little over arching story that build to climax Most stories are self contained driven by new machuffin that help promotes product Also music sucks I know this is the formula from the original show but if you take your nostalgia googles off It’s not as immersive as modern story writing Meanwhile cgi heman characters have growth and set backs, flaws histories as the story is connect shows a natural progression with mid and seasonal finales that have an ultimate climax The problem for the show lack of success revelation woke tanking, nostalgia for this and the OG show I think if they pushed forward for the 4,5 and 6th seasons it would win people over but due to budget disagreements for a movie Mattel parted way with Netflix killing the show In my mind the cgi show was a success that they let slip through their fingers

Having seen both Revelations and the CGI He-man. The CGI was probably the most well written one. And I absolutely agree the Music (and sound design) of the show was bad.

I really do appreciate how the creators weren't afraid of doing something different, I've said it before and I'll say it again, there's no point in remaking something if you're not gonna make it different

Honestly syncro-vox dying with annoying orange makes sense a bit. It matches the most with the live action or CGI (with the eyes as well) and was the most sincere use since the first studio.

The sword, and costume were not great. The toys all looked like hunchbacks. The toy used John Erwin's voice on the toys. Why not hire Alan Oppenheimer to do Skeletor, and Erwin for He-Man. They could use the money, and can still do the voices. They ARE, and always will be the voices of He-Man and Skeletor.

Awesome reboot until...well, the Snake Pit. What kills any series for me is snake villains. First G.I. Joe with Serpentor, then He-Man with King Hiss, then Ninjago, seriously people give the serpents a rest! She-Ra reboot was pretty awesome though, I don't care if I fall outside of the demographic :D.

Actually, the Annoying Orange TV show bombed after *two* seasons! And even then, the show didn't bomb. The ratings were surprisingly solid. The two-part series finale even got 3.56 million viewers. It's just that DaneBoe's studio was shut down due to Collective Digital Media, which ended up getting acquired by ProSiebenSat.1 Media, shutting down its film and television division. Cartoon Network probably didn't want to fund the show anymore so it got cancelled. 🤓
