A story of blind ambition, hubris and metaphorically flying too close to the sun believing their film would be better then Shrek

Maybe with a few revisions, better character designs and make the movie 2D instead of 3D, this could’ve been an instant classic.

One movie you could probably make all sorts of comparisons to here might be _The Dark Crystal_ ; one look at the characters and it's clear that was an inspiration. That movie ALSO has an exposition-heavy intro, due to uncertainty that audiences would understand the alien world it presented.

Thank you for talking about the development of this film, a lot of people gloss over this when talking about and criticizing the movie.

I think there was an ad for Delgo in an issue of Nickelodeon Magazine I had.

I kinda feel like this movie could've needed more rewrite to refine some elements and needed retuning

This and the Saberspark video on this film are great!

I Watch Delgo when I was eight years old. I thought it was a pretty good movie. Maybe the franchise could get a reboot, maybe by DreamWorks, since they’re good with Shrek, rise of the guardians, how to train your dragons and abominable!

Nowadays some people like midnight edge wanted something like this because it’s like game of thrones. This is why the owl house was canceled and replaced by willow

Aside from a few more rewrites, they could have used better art direction and character design, because even with the technological limitations of the time, this is an UGLY looking movie.

Yeah, there’s a good movie in there somewhere. Shame it’s buried under dated animation and a poor story.

Can you do a design dungeon review of Sailor Moon (1990s)

The graphics make it look like a ps3 game. Maybe this could have been a game for the PlayStation 3.

I remember seeing a little bit of this as a kid. The art style scared me so I never watched it 💀

8:48 didn't most people at realise that Jar Jar was not well liked? How could anyone think this was a good idea.

It all just seems like the Lead writers didn't take stock of what was happening in Sci-Fi and Fantasy circles. It could also be because the film started development around the same time the Phantom Menace Came out. Either way the decision was rather out of touch with audiences.

I kinda want to riff on this movie ala Mst3k and Rifftrax Where me and some friends make jokes and have fun poking fun at the film's cliches and narm
