I really do enjoy this version of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Not only do our heroes have amazing transformations, but so do the villains. Hopefully this will get a second season.

I wish people would stop talking about how bad the Kevin Smith show is and start talking more about how good this show is. I want a season 2. It's totally worth watching.

It completely butchers the original and initial reboots lore. You might like it but you’re too young to know anything about the originals. It would be like making a new Harry Potter movie and then changing everything that made Harry Potter what is was. It might be a decent show but it’s a shit he man show

@@aaronjones5742 I'm glad to hear that you think a 45 year old is young. Yes, I grew up watching the original and playing with the toys. And yes, I like this new show a lot. The 2002 show is the best He-Man, but this show is pretty good. You assumed I was young, so I'll assume you are an ass. We all know what happens when you ass-u-me things, but at least I have a little bit of evidence to back up my assumption.

Kinda surprised that people haven't realized that Teela in this isn't meant to be a version of Eternia's sergeant and daughter of Man-at-Arms, but rather this is a reference to Teela Na, that Teela's mother, who became the sorceress.

In fact season 3 confirmed it's that. The Teela we're familiar with hasn't been born yet because her parents just met

I like that Adam/He-Man and Keldor/Skeletor are played by Spider-man (Yuri Lowenthal) and Venom (Ben Diskin) respectively

After watching up to season 3, this show is hands-down better than revelations, honestly. Its not 1:1 in terms of lore and set up, but it has more heart, more fun and gives itself more respect than revelations.

At least it's a full reboot that, more or less, is faithful to what He-Man was, than what Revelation was. Basically this is what Thundercats 2011 was. Good fanfiction. Fanfiction written using ideas and the core of a series and characters to make something slightly similar, but new.

Season 3 gives me hope for Season 4. The theme of maintaining family despite conflict is admirable. Spoilers below: Can’t wait for Hordak and Evelyn to wreak Havoc😈. Also loved the father moment Cringer and King Randor share when rescuing Adam.

Evil-Lyn has less... Seduction almost? She is more maniacal. But still the same energy when interacting with others. Idk how the managed to pull that off. Trap-jaw? Fantastic. The dude has character. Like, proper, full on character. Season 1 felt more like establishing the baseline and introducing a *new* audience to the world of He-Man, it's characters and the action figure toys they are inevitably selling. I understand why they didn't have more episodes, the funding was probably short, but what they did with it was beautiful visually, well-written and compact as well as improved upon in some regards, and as you said - different. The show is like Transformers Prime of the He-man universe, but there's just not enough of it for more character development, hopefully they make it more than just a toy AD in the future if it gets enough of a positive response.

I got more of a transformers animated type of vibe from this: very stylized with its animation, certain characters getting a very different personality and loved for it, series laced with references to older parts of the franchise and even abandoned concepts.

Speaking of the villains I like how it doesn’t do the typical thing of where they’re constantly at each other’s throats or double crossing one another for power there is a clear almost camaraderie between evil Lynn and trapjaw

I’ve seen all three seasons of it and it’s honestly really good. I was a bit skeptical if it would be bad or good because it looked too kiddish when I saw the trailer but I had a lot of fun watching it. The characters are all likable. My favorite is Skeletor because he gets most of the best jokes. I really hope this gets a fourth season.

Too kiddish? With all due respect, but the CGI He-Man and the masters of the universe is literally a kids cartoon, it's for kids, not adults. Therefore it makes sense for it to be "kiddish" in order for it to be suitable and enjoyable for kids as they are the target audience.

Actually this series leans heavily into the magitek side of He-Man which is something I approve of. It shows that not everyone can do magic. I mean anyone if they put their mind to it could perform actual spells something that you have to be willing to practice just as much as you would practice your swordsmanship oh, so only a handful of people ever actually dedicate themselves to learning to use spells instead of just using their magitek gadgets. In other words I say this series really science fantasy of He-Man more so than other series with magic and technology inheriting the world and even overlapping in many cases.

Damn.... Numba One does a great Skeletor.

Reboot-shmeeboot, in MOTU literally every setting exists in the canon, all at once, they're just in different universes (Not dimensions, those are places within the MOTU universes, but the universes CAN crossover, it just typically doesn't happen, but it did notably in one comic, including Filmation, 2002, and the toys, yup, the toys are their own continuity/universe/canon.) Personally I view the newer stuff like the CGI, Revelations, SRATPOP, and the Origins toyline and minicomics as other universes alongside those, too, even if the new She-Ra i s legally not quite there, it's MOTU in my book. Plus, this prevents Revelations from being a continuation of Filmation, which it definitely isn't going by characterization and certain bits of lore.

What I found really cool is that in both seasons one and two we can hear the original skeletors voice come from king grey skull

funny you mention the 2011 thundercats because I feel this show is very similar to it, with how the thundercats show was also a remake of an 80s sci-fi/fantasy fusion but leaned more into the fantasy aspect while this show leans more into the sci-fi element. I also love how this show was clearly made by heman fans/people who respect the history. A lot of the shows elements are taken from the extended lore/early versions of heman with adam being from the tiger tribe, skeletor being his uncle, teela as the sorcerous is a reference to how she was originally her daughter in early versions, they even reference the crappy microphone in snake mountain toy

This show was such a delightful surprise when I watched it. I mean the theme song kinda sucks but the campy nature of this show makes me wanna rewatch it before the second season drops this week

Krass is implied to be Ramman's daughter, it's his helmet she wears. My biggest gripe is that her transformation makes her white, almost pale. She's purple while normal, so why even change it?

This is a good review... it tells me exactly what I needed to know about this series. I probably wouldn't restart my Netflix sub for this, but it sounds like it'll be perfectly entertaining for its target audience, if not as high quality or as broadly appealing as She-Ra.

I just realized the Teela here is Teela Na

3d version of the new he man is actually interesting to watch. Seen clips of it and it is very uniquely designed and instead of simply gender swapping characters they created new ones

I really do appreciate how the creators weren't afraid of doing something different, I've said it before and I'll say it again, there's no point in remaking something if you're not gonna make it different

Can you believe that in the 2020s we'd get a new She-Ra and two more He-Mans? Unreal. I hate to say, I am in the minority who appreciated Revelation (by the end, anyway) over this incarnation of the material. Though my favorite remains the 2002 version. Good, thorough review either way.

I'm shocked h9w good it actually is Like it had all the reason to be terrible yet got past them all, it so much more passionately done than revelation ever was Even Teela works more here ironically enough

believe it or not Design Dungeon, The cgi animation here in this better Masters of the universe show is done by Wang Film Production’s CGCG, Inc (The computer-animation studio behind the Star Wars cgi-animated shows including Star Wars the clone wars and Disney Plus’s Star Wars:The Bad Batch). Also this he-man show is 100% better than Silent Bob’s crappy revelation!

Randor in 2002 series is pretty good

I really thought I would hate this but I love it so much the spirit behind the show is great I love this show

To be honest, I think you should first review the MOTU Revelations: Part 2 and see if it got worse, then review the MOTU movie. By the way, I saw the first episode of season 2 of this version on Netflix Future's account here and I thought it was funny, but good.

I actually have a theory that Ram Ma'am's father may have been this shows version of Ram Man seeing as I like to see Ram Ma'am as a separate character in her own right

Teela is actually the daughter of the sorcereress And she is destined to take her place eventually

This series was definitely the back up in case revelations didn't work out

I loved both this and revelations

I actually want them now to do a CGI ThunderCats reboot similar to this series or even a continuation of the ThunderCats reboot seeing as Thundercats Roar sucks

@@Shoop400 I compare it to Ninja Turtles 2012 because it has some unique changes to some things such as Orko being a robot, and Man at Arms being a kid genius like Donatello, and both shows are a blend of silliness and seriousness. Not to mention the similarities between the art styles!

If I honest I really didn’t like this show at all, it just felt so box standard and clichie that just made it feel so soulless as a kid show, This is deffeintly my own personal likes, but I always prefer shows that have more nuance characters where nothing is ever strictly black or white, the show except skeletor he was actually really fun to watch. But seeing the villains always bickering and always saying they’ll betray someone when the other person is in the other room really shows how completely incompapatant they are, where it makes no sense why the viallians would ever team up in the first place, and I don’t think that was intentional by the writers, we never really see a character show why they do what they do or what drives them as people to wanting succeed other than good people always do good things and bad people always do bad things This show weirdly feels like a slugtera knock off I just find he mans new design hilariously dumb looking that if his body was in real life, he’d probably die of heart attack much less being able to move his arms or be able to properly stand Telas mother is definitely the enchanters being that they share the same voice actress. Also the second to last episode where they use a stupid amount a stock footage got really annoying The Keldor and viren comparison honestly really shows that I felt worked with how great the dragon prince and the complexity of Viren where u actually understand his motives on bettering humanity no matter the costs while still being a munipulative scum bag that still cares for his children, and a Keldor just wanting power for power sake
